I already had two piercings with butterfly backs but no one mentioned there is a different kind of back now where you screw a microscopic post into a tiny hole. I had to take them out for an MRI and can't get them back in because I have paralysis in my thumbs and arthritis in my hands. I called to see if they could exchange them for the type I wanted because I can't use these and he got very defensive. He kept telling me he has a client with 4 fingers and only one hand so my disability shouldn't be a problem. If he can overcome his then surely I should overcome mine, he insisted. I felt like I was talking to a child. There was no apology for the miscommunication, no offer to try to reorder them or take them back or even issue some kind of credit. He just kept blaming me, saying I should have asked when I came in wearing butterflies and having no idea these others existed. The bottom line: They don't take an ounce of responsibility for anything and are incredibly rude to someone who spent hundreds of dollars on something she can't use. Telling me I am wrong about my disability and insisting I can pay them to teach me to do it was the icing on the cake. You don't tell a disabled person that their disability isn't real and they can do something they can't if they really wanted to. I would rather pierce my own ear with a rusty nail than set foot in this scam of a place again.

This was my first experience under the gun, and the staff there was incredibly supportive and knowledgeable. The woman at the front desk (I didn't get her name, sadly,) spent a long time talking about placement with me, transferring my design to paper in different sizes and laying them out on my arm to see where they would fit best, how to get the best layout for what I wanted, etc. Because my work was rather simple, I was able to meet with an artist named Lisa immediately and discuss the process further and review some of my options. (Side note - I had already been to another tattoo place in town that morning, and I just hadn't liked the vibe of the place. I'm sure there's nothing wrong with the other shop, as they've got a great reputation. It just wasn't a good fit for for me, and I wanted to make sure I was in good hands for a major step like this one.) Lisa was available to do the tattoo right then, and the entire appointment took just under an hour. I am terrified of needles, so I had anticipated having someone sit on my chest to get me through the ordeal. Not only didn't it hurt, it wasn't even vaguely uncomfortable; I was actually disappointed when the whole thing was over. I'm sure a large part of this was due in fact to Lisa's skill with the gun as well as her ability to keep me talking while the tattoo was being done. I'm an English teacher, and we probably spent 90% of our time together talking about short stories that we love. In all, I could not have had a better experience. Whether you're an experienced veteran of the tattooing process or someone who is thinking about getting their first, Body Graphics is the place to be.

my friend and i wanted same day piercings, but it's hard to find in northampton. we booked an…read moreappointment for the next day with Lindsay. they got their ears pierced, and i wanted my navel [redone after 9 years]. landon helped us with setting our appointment and picking our jewelry. for the navel, they have you choose your top pick for jewelry and a backup 2nd style in case your anatomy doesn't work with the jewelry you picked. i was sure which jewelry i wanted, and because i had my navel done before, i was confident that i'd get my first pick. when it comes time to get my piercing, lindsay was very thorough when it came to explaining everything and making markings for placement. unfortunately she said my anatomy wouldn't work with my first pick for jewelry, meaning i had to spend $100+ on a piece i wasn't thrilled about if i wanted to move forward. i almost cancelled, but she said she could potentially place it in a way so that when it healed (in a year), i would be able to use the jewelry i wanted. i've had over 16 piercings in the past, but i removed most of them, so it had been about 10 years since i had any piercing. i'm pretty experienced though. i picked the flower floating navel jewelry and it looked better than i anticipated. i did end up having issues with the disc which caused swelling, discharge and bleeding. my friend loved their ears, and it was very quick minus the markings. i do like that she took her time making sure the markings were in the perfect spot. the place is cute, filled with quality jewelry and decorated with crystals, snacks while you wait. update after 3 months: i had issues healing with the disc, and when i wanted a piercer to check it out at their sister store, they wanted a deposit to look at it. i had a lot of pain and was very nervous if it was infected. i was somewhat surprised they wouldn't even let you walk in without paying, but not so much as they wouldn't take a same day appointment and had a similar attitude. i had to go elsewhere where they looked at it (for free!) and gave me my options, i paid for the ball they switched out the disc for, and surely tipped due to great service. it did feel like they didn't care for our business initially, and they look at you a certain way if you look like you don't have any experience with body mods. i know that is typical for many piercing places which is why i gave them the benefit of 3 stars and not less.
