Iron Goat Coffee is such a great addition to the Walloon Village! We recently stayed nearby and walked over to IGC on a Friday morning and again on Saturday morning... The Friday morning visit was five stars. We walked in and must have hit it at just the right time as there was no line. My husband and I ordered the lavender chai latte off the Spring time special menu. I ordered mine with oat milk and his with regular and asked them to make both of them dirty. We were both super happy with this selection. We didn't have to wait very long even though there was only one person working that day. The next morning, there was a long line and two people working... and the specialty menu was no longer available. Even so, they did let my husband order the lavender chai latte again. I went with a flat white with oat milk and light lavender. We waited quite awhile and noticed others around us did as well. It was fine since we were not in a rush, but not the best experience. Clearly the staff were stressed with the rush of people and so many orders to fill. The coffees were once again delicious. There is a limited food menu and a small retail area, as well as indoor and outdoor seating. There isn't any other gourmet coffee in the area to my knowledge, so if you are wanting a fancy coffee, this may be your only option. If you hit it right, you will have an incredible experience, but if there is a line during a busy time, be prepared for a bit of a wait. Is the only place in town and thank sweet lord baby buddha the owner gives two sheets. The coffee is decent, better than star bucks in IMHO but nearly every small roaster is. On a road trip what you often need is a great cup of coffee or other beverage, so we looked up other reviews and found the Iron Goat as a stopping point. I immediately loved that there are plenty of parking spaces close to the water and in the downtown area. The entrance to the coffee shop is located on a side street and shares the outside door with other dood venues. Once you enter there are some cozy spots, working spots and ha g out tables. The space isn't huge but plenty of room for your own corner or a table to look out on the water. The server was friendly and helpful and the menu is listed above the service area on a big blackboard. We tried their specialty chai and their lavender latte with oak milk. Both were tasty and good, but I have to admit it wasn't hot enough for me nor did my latte have enough syrup for me to taste the lavender. We took our drinks out to the water where there are several picnic tables and benches along a path overlooking the lake. We liked the drinks but would perhaps choose another spot if there were options...or ask for a hotter option with more syrup! read more

The coffee is amazing! I ordered one and in the making it got messed up, but, if you go up and ask to have it remade, they're on it instantly! The coffee is made with good ingredients, and for cheap! We visit NP often (as in every single day, no shame) and we absolutely love it! The owners and staff are incredible and so is their coffee. This town has been in need of a coffee shop for a very long time and it's finally here! They have an assortment of baked goods you can get, along with some small snacks and fruit. Their menu items range from simple coffee, cappuccinos, and espresso-based drinks to frappes, fancy lattes, and even smoothies for the kids! They also have dairy alternatives, such as soy and almond milk. Stopped into NP for a morning pick me up of the latte kind- the girls really took the time to explain all the different drinks and recommended one that really made an impression, so much so that we got a North Perk Latte every day! I'm super impressed with their small batch beans and brought some back to the big city to show it off! Although, we've realized that sharing means we have to give it away and we love the Northern Lights! Probably going to keep that for ourselves! I lived primarily in EJ for the first 18 years of my life. Recently I moved to EL for school, but sometimes I consider making the drive just for the Vanilla Latte. Its's the perfect blend of bitter and sweetness. My only complaint is that I wish it had came sooner! It is the perfect spot to get work done that doesn't require your full attention since there's usually one or two people already in there and it's right on main st. The last time I visited I took my laptop and my planner down to North Perk (Now Lake Charlevoix Coffee Company).
