We have stayed in agglomeration cabins and rental homes over the years and really appreciate those that go above and beyond- these did not. Having a list of things to do around the city, which is very small, would have been nice. Or the option of renting a fishing pole, maybe even a loaner that were could check out for the day would have been nice. We are not fishing people, we have never been so offering that would be nice. The is a place to have a fire bur no wood, again it would be nice if that was something included. Overall, the cabin was just that- a place to stay to sleep. Not much else in regards to activities. If I were to make a suggestion: 1. Have fishing rods (cheap, crappy ones) that guests could borrow 2. List of family fun activities close by 3. List of good places to eat 4. Any great places top see, shop or stop by the locals know about but out-of-towners would not It's a great place to just get away and relax, just a little lost as far as what to do around there.

Pam and Scott are excellent hosts and will make your stay enjoyable. The Inn is a historic building and as such has a lot of charm, the grounds are well kept with the back of the property bordering the Paluxy river. Also at the back of the property overlooking the Paluxy is Snyder's Tavern where lunch, dinner and drinks are served. In the morning you'll get to enjoy breakfast in the dining room which is included in the cost of your stay. One thing to note is that the rooms do not feature TV's which was not a big deal to us. A comfortable bed and private bathroom should be mentioned. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning.

Waking up to open fields, wildflowers, and animals nearby, and then winding down under a sky full of stars--it felt peaceful in a way that's hard to find. It was the kind of place that gently pushes you out of your comfort zone in a safe and meaningful way, and those are the experiences that stick. There were also a few thoughtful touches and moments during our stay that made it feel even more special and memorable. It created some true core memories for my kids--those little unexpected experiences that you don't forget. The caretakers were absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcome and took extra time to make sure we were comfortable. You can feel how much they care about the space, the animals, and the people who visit. This isn't a typical stay--it's something much more intentional. It feels like a place where the land and animals are genuinely cared for, and you're invited to be part of that, even if just for a short time. The "inn" is really a 40 acre farm (bed and breakfast) with animals for kids to look at, various buildings to view, and a community fire pit. Ordinarily, there is a breakfast bar that was not functioning during the pandemic. The bucolic environment was very relaxing and we appreciated the time away from the hustle and bustle. There were some problems with our Airstream. The inside smelled musty and the sheets had some weird odor. We were there in October and it got cold at night but there was no heat so we froze during the night. There were no blankets. The "kitchen" was not very well equipped, lacking even a bottle opener. So, we enjoyed our time but it would have been better if the Airstream had been better maintained and equipped.

Julie and her crew took such great care of us. Even made last minute arrangements to bring our breakfast to our room! Which, was AMAZING btw! I called and they help me pick out a room and two weeks later I arrived. I was greeted at the door and shown to my room and welcomed and felt at home. There was fresh sugar cookies and a bottle of wine complementary to their guests. Julie recommended a restaurant on the Square and it was a short 10 minute walk on a pathway to the Square which was a beautiful scenic walk. We found the restaurant Christina's and had a delicious wonderful meal. We sat in the porch and enjoyed the squirrels playing in the trees. Breakfast was at 9:00 am and we visited with 3 other couples. It was a delightful time. The new owners are doing an amazing job. Come check them out.

The outside is a little plain but the inside is a vintage dream yet with every modern convenience you need. We happened to call last minute and the owner met us there in 10 minutes and explained the history of the house. She and her husband bought it and restored it back to its original beauty. It's the perfect spot for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready. They decorated beautifully and the hors d'oeuvres they had at the reception were delicious. They were so gracious and sweet and they have a beautiful bed and breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, WOW, it was AMAZING! We stayed in the Lily of the Valley room and it was stunning. I absolutely loved all of the details of this room. There is a nice whirlpool tub and they also have a porch (great place to sit out and have a cup of coffee in the morning!). There are new antiques every time I visit, some of which were donated by descendants of the original home owners. The house is always decked out, but it is especially fun to see during the holidays. You can tell a lot of thought, time and money went into restoring this magnificent 7,000 square foot home to its former grandeur. I will definitely go back to visit, even if only to get away from the city lights and mentally recharge in the quiet country atmosphere.
