We have gone to plenty of antique stores and this one has to be one of the best! They have so so much selection and the vendors here are real people. Every single vendor we encountered was so helpful. They treated us as friends and even took time to get to know us as customers. They have tons and tons of cool things and different sections that cater to different wants and needs. Definitely a great place. A lot of the prices may be higher but it is due to true rarity and uniqueness of the items. Dispute that there are plenty of truly affordable prices and you can get a really good deal ! Ishmael talks a big game about customer service, but the moment you have a concern, the charm vanishes and the excuses begin. Everything here feels slimy, like they're looking for any way to squeeze more money out of you, even though they buy things for pennies on the dollar then mark it up by a ridiculous amount to take advantage of you as a customer and manipulate you. The location is on Wurzbach immediately outside IH 10 behind HEB. Plenty of parking, and open Wednesday - Monday, closed Tuesday (?). Range of offerings is everything you can imagine and prices will be from surprisingly low to upper end. The vendors for most part very friendly and helpful. This antique mall operates a little differently than other malls. Each stall is its separate store so you have to pay per area. Many of the stalls were closed off as no one was there to work them and others were taking money for the sales from them. This store has more traditional items so there wasn't much I was interested in. Though if you like gaming there was one spot that had a lot of older games and machines. read more

Ironside is one of those places where you never know what you are going to find. It has been here as long as I can remember when Whole Foods and Souper Salads were in the complex. There are all different stalls, but the best is the vintage lighting. Compared to other antique stores there are still some deals to be had. There are also stalls with vintage toys and comic books. What a great antique mall to run into after having breakfast across the parking lot! This place has so many vendors and sellers who have the coolest and most unique items you can find literally all under one roof. Outside deals are hard to miss as there are items placed in the front before you enter to strike your curiosity on what you can find inside. Simple signage and price tags hang on every item outside which is great. Once you get inside it really is about negotiating/talking and working with the the seller on any items you see around. Each seller has their own space/area that you can browse and walk through. So much to look at and you may have to dig a little but you will find some really great items and throwback items if you are up for the challenge. We ended up getting a great swivel chair that could be a medical item from one of the sellers. He was nice and offered us a great deal we couldn't bypass. I saw some great Beatles items and art as well as some unique and expensive items selling for really great prices! We also bought some unique folk art from a really nice lady who had some great prices and items. Love that the sellers/owners are around to make small talk with and converse with. It was a joy seeing all of the antiques. Be prepared to spend at least an hour here browsing. You will not regret it as you may end up finding some great, practical, and unique conversation pieces for your home or for someone else in mind. read more

The mall consists of individual venders who sell their own merchandise, and if they are not there they put plastic fencing around their items--you can see items but can't buy them. We were there on a Thursday afternoon and at least five dealers were absent -- it might be better on the weekends. The two I bought from would only take cash ($20 for each item) which I wasn't prepared for as most other antique malls I've been in take cards. However, there was a good selection of jewelry, toys and small furniture. read more

When you walk in the place smells old. Like moth balls and probably lead based paints or varnish on alot of the "antiques." It used to be nicer, or maybe today I just have better taste. I also think that the shopkeepers used to be true antiquarians. Now it is just, well, I won't be rude. Just think Fred Sanford. The shop owners are of two kinds: either very friendly and talkative or shy and quiet. What they share in common are exagerrated prices on their stuff. Honestly, I think it's just a hobby for some people like playing bingo. As an example, a plastic framed picture of a deer, the guy says "yea, I'll take 75 for it." LOL I guess it's just for rich people because I would never pay $75 for something that would get rejected by Goodwill. read more

If you fancy vintage décor or antique furniture, Ironside Mall is the kind of place you could get lost in. Not just for hours, but for lace and armoire-filled days. Ironside Mall has more than 50 vendors who each have their own little "stores" inside the building. Customers wander from one store to the next, much like moving through rooms of a huge old mansion where everything is available for purchasing. In other words, an antique shopper's dream. I had been meaning to come in ever since moving to San Antonio, and when I finally had a few minutes to spare in that area, I found myself standing in the entrance in shock. Then I began kicking myself for not coming sooner. This place is awesome! How could I have overlooked it for so long? There is no end to the variety in each area; some vendors offer antique watch repair, others specialize in shabby chic headboards or 18th century dressers. I was actually very impressed with the prices as well, as most items had been discounted to what you would find for a new item or less. There were wardrobes for less than $300, which is truly a steal. The accessories there are endless as well, including vases, lace, hats, windows, paintings and even some vintage clothing. I found a beautiful little bowl for only $12. Nice! Ironside Mall is located behind the HEB that is off of I-10 and Wurzbach. Don't limit yourself to coming here only if you live in the area though. This place is definitely worth a drive. In short, Ironside Mall is brilliant. Whether you are a serious shopper or just a person who loves all things vintage, this place will exceed your expectations, just like it did mine. read more

Great glassware selection of you make sure to look through the cabinets, and find your way into the back and corners because the trip is worth it! Don't pay posted price for anything; they sellers will make you great deals if you're the bargaining type. I am remodeling and redecorating so I have been going around to antique shops A LOT lately. With that said, Ironside Mall is one of the best places I have been to. There is a plethora of things and you need a good 2 hours to really get a feel for the vendors. Some things you can pass up just by looking over, but others you want to really roll up your sleeve and dig in. There was a rather large section in the front of the store (left side corner) owned by 'Kim' that was closed off. There were some really interesting things there but I couldn't really see. Someone earlier mentioned the large "mom's hang-ups' shop in the back.. this section was by far the best! Husband and wife duo who I got some DIY priming, painting, and distressing tips from- simply because the wife was in the middle of painting a piece of furniture. I was looking for old beat up billiard balls, a vintage wall map, and a vintage globe. Found the map and globe at mom's hang ups in the back and..... they immediately went down on the price just to make a quick sale. Most vendors accept cards, yet again AMEX was not accepted by most. If you read any of my previous reviews you know I'm an avid AMEX shop small campaign supporter. DO NOT just grab things and pay the listed price. Everything I looked at an item for a free minutes, the vendor came and said they would knock off X from the ticketed price. Next item on the list is a Mid-Century 'Mad Men' style sofa.. maybe that's why i signed their guest book as Don Draper? Who cares... it made me feel slightly cooler anyway. read more

What an absolute gem! I must have passed by this place hundreds of times during my commutes to and from work and I quickly judged it as a place for overpriced used items that many would consider junk. I was in the market for gilded, Victorian-esque tea cups and saucers so I decided it was time to stop in and see what this amalgamate antique mall had to offer. I popped in on a Sunday, about an hour before closing. I suppose it was what many of the shop owners consider their uber slow days as I overheard one of the shop owners commenting on the number of shoppers. Judging the small number of shops open and shop owners present, I guess it must be so. I quickly perused through as much as could given the limited time I had, from what I could see this place is a interior designers dream for a vintage inspired home! The range of items here is massive. Super cute tableware can be found if you've got the patience to look through everything, amazing furniture items. The entire time I was mentally interior decorating my place! Some of the items can be pricey but shop owners are willing to work with you on the price. I'll definitely be coming back with more time (and money!) to spend. read more

Mehhhhhhh, not impressive, I came here based on reviews and was hoping to find something.... Whenever I travel I always lie to hit up the antique malls or vintage shops. I would say there were a lot of vendor booths but many were closed which sucked and some of the booths had more modern things which were certainly not vintage or antique. Some things were overpriced and others were well priced. I found tons of cool furniture here but I didn't want to deal with shipping stuff or having to carefully pack glass.. I did find some stuff at Kimmy's booth. A very nice lady who showed me her collection of vintage Mahjong tiles after she saw the Bakelite Mahjong tile ring that I was wearing which made. She pulled out tons of "junk" pieces that I may find use for and for $10 I walked out smitten.. I found more trinkets to use in my trinket making.. Super stoked! read more

There are quite a few dealers here and most beckon you over to their stall. It makes it a little uncomfortable to have to keep making small talk as you slowly back away. I really didnt see much that I wanted but did get a hand held mirror. No great deal, but I got it anyway. Prices werent remarkable, but you might find something you like. Definately, one of the better antique shops in San Antonio. Individual vendors so there are a great variety of things to choose from. It can seem a bit cramped in some spots so make sure to leave your anxiety at the door. Some of the things are ridiculously priced and others are super cheap. Pace yourself and spend some time because there are some fabulous finds tucked away here and there. Once downfall, in my opinion, is that not all the vendors are there all the time and alot of things aren't marked. That makes it difficult when you're interested in something. Others, however, have an odd breakroom/tv setup in the corner of their booth and seem to have been there for years. All all very sweet, helpful, and ready to make a deal. read more

A nice little antiques mall with some non-traditional "antique" booths. While you'll find your typical antique furniture and home décor items, Ironside Mall also has booths specializing is old records, comic books, and military items. Most vendors seem very open to negotiation one telling me the difference between a business and a collection is the willingness to sell things - "It's only worth what someone is willing to pay." One thing needed here is a PA system. A couple of times I went to a booth and it was unattended. I waited and nothing. I asked another booth's owner who went off looking. Still nothing. A PA system would be a nice touch. read more

Strangest antique mall I have ever seen! Half of the booths were fenced off with plastic orange landscaping fence because the vendors were not there yet. You can only buy if the dealer is there, crazy setup. We got there two hours after the store opened. read more

If your looking to take a trip down memory lane, this is the place to be. The mall has different vendors seliing there goods. There's an elderly man in the back who must've been a serious stamp collector as a child becuase he has volumes of old stamps for sale. They also have furniture, household items, some clothes, and purses. There is a lady there who had 50% off most of her antique linen items. Great place to check out. read more

I've been here a few times & I always see something cool that I just must have until I see the price tag. That's not to say everything here is expensive, there is a good price range and most of the sellers will cut you a deal. It just seems to be my luck that what I want is either way out of my range or the seller won't budge on the price on a piece of rusty old metal that I think would look great above my fireplace. Oh well, you win some you lose some. I like big furniture pieces & those tend to be the more expensive items. There is a great variety of items & there is bound to be something in your budget. This place is great!! So many little shops and incredible furniture. One of the best things about this antique mall is the incredibly well priced vintage and antique jewlery and comic stand. There's a shop in there that has great first/early edition books and comics. There's not many places in San Antonio anymore where you can find hard to come by graphic novels. read more

This was a nice antique store, some of the vendor areas were great antiques, some way over priced and too expensive, some like a flea market with their junk and on a Saturday some were closed. Most people were friendly but I would rather shop not being looked at the entire time and not having to make ackward small talk just to look at things. I don't think I'll be back. read more

Decent--I wouldn't say it's my favorite antique mall in Texas, but it's worth a look. I DO love the tea shop in the back--excellent selection of tea and they have a weekly open mic. It's worth going just for that in my opinion. read more
