The exam was fine, but when I asked for the script, I was super pressured into buying from them. When I went to fill her prescription they gave the company the run around about verifying the prescription. Then, when I called, I couldn't because it's a HIPPA violation; seriously, it's as simple as me filling out a release form, but of course, they would not get that fax ever. The online company tried for DAYS!!!!! Then, when I went somewhere in person I found out what the issue was. The prescription omitted the extra strength needed for my daughter's one eye. I called them, and surprised, surprise, they told me the doctor wouldn't be in until Saturday; keep in mind this was Thursday. So you are open on Fridays but have no doctor all day?!?!?! sure, that makes sense... The office lady was beyond rude, telling me that there was nothing wrong with the script; a simple check of contact strengths tells you that, yes, what they wrote for one eye wasn't going to work. I explained to her that I have a temporary insurance card with all of the information that they needed to know and she didn't even want to hear about. I talked to my HR representative with more information to tell them. I tried to call them back MULTIPLE times with them not answering the phone. They are more worried about billing about services that they don't even know what services they need to perform yet. You all need to work on your customer service more!

BEWARE OF THIS PRACTICE - I saw Dr. Richards for a few years…read more Sadly, this has come to an end. They hide fees, don't tell you extra fees up front. I went in for any eye exam and extra testing. At the emd of my visit, I asked for my prescription for my glasses, she would NOT give it to me. She told me I would have to pay 30.00$. I said absolutely NOT. I just paid them a 50.00$ co- pay. AND, they proceeded then to tell me my vision check up is NOT covered under medical OR my vision insurance, because they are surgeons. SO, BEWARE OF THAT CHARGE. I did some research, and it is AGAINST THE LAW for them to not release your prescription/or charge you for it. I have filed claims with the BBB Federal Trade Commission Lisa Madigan's office My health insurance company. THIS office cannot make up any rule they want, their are guidelines. I asked when this rule started and she stated July 2017. Never did I recieve any mailing on this. I hope Mike Thomas realizes how many patients he is losing because of his office staff. At the Johnsburg location and Harvard location, the office staff act as though they are doing you a favor whereas its the other way round. Phones are not answered 95% of the time. Appointments are never made properly. Paperwork or health insurance information is often entered incorrectly or misplaced. Mike Thomas would have many more patients but for his inefficient office staff.
