Relatively hidden gem of a collective space! If more people knew about this place, it would be packed. The Irwin Street Market houses multiple local businesses -- ice cream, coffee shop, bagels, lunch and dinner counter, chocolatier, bakery, cooking classes, and a soup-maker. They all share one large, open space. Plenty of comfy seating. Free wireless. Well-lit. Live music every now and then. Great for anything you want to do -- study, eat, chill, read, whatever! As a student, I can tell you this place is great when you need to do work for hours on end. No crowds, and REAL food -- so that when you get hungry, you're not stuck with the same old coffee shop options (turkey sandwich, hummus, you know what I'm talking about). Definitely invest in making this a place you frequent. They're always working to make it even better. Seeing this place evolve over the past couple years has been pretty neat.

A collection of small businesses under one leaky metal roof, this brightly colored building will make your day. There are several vendors in the building, including Jake's Ice Cream, Flower Bar, Sweet Pockets, and Sally B's skin products. There are also local honeys, greeting cards, photography, and a gallery just getting underway. The relaxed atmosphere encourages you to grab something sweet and sit back in one of the rooms, perhaps play some chess, read a book, or surf the internet, since they have free wi-fi! Everyone is extremely friendly and the sunshine may make that cushy chair hard to resist. Unless a giant falcon takes down a squirrel in the parking lot! Which is exactly what happened when I was there... it took a minute to figure out what the loud thump of feathers and branches was. I jumped out of the chair and watched through the rain as the bird sat on its meal for a bit before flying off with treat in tow. Nature at its finest.

This co-op market is definitely worth the trip. There are lots of cool vendors. You have to try the ice cream and cupcakes.

And full of every sort of eating/drinking/shopping experience you & your group could want. Even with its appeal to tourists, I'd have to imagine that locals* regularly patronize the building (and shops within). I came here with a huge group on an overcast Wednesday in mid-spring. Lots of people. Lots of agendas. Everyone was sated. Why? Because PCM is home to a bevy of experiences. I really enjoy repurposed old warehouses. From the sweeping ceilings to the ironwork to the beautiful old wood, they're reminders of why some things are meant to be kept and protected -- even when the old shell reveals something new inside. I detached from my group and went feral. I was here to eat but I wanted to explore. I did some window shopping and people watching. I attempted to access the roof but I needed a ticket or some such nonsense (Atlanta still has to Atlanta). But if you have the time and patience to get a ticket, you should check it out. I eventually settled on dinner and dessertS (reviews to come) and enjoyed every bite. There's a reason why PCM is a part of external-facing media when it comes to Atlanta. And I'm pleased to report that it acquits itself nicely. Even if it's out of your way and/or not in your plan to visit, make the time to do so. I think you'll be happy that you did. *I do understand the annoyance at parking issues being a deterrent to visiting. That struggle is real and universal.

You get to see two movies one Friday at 8:30 and the other start at 10:30. The movie that played were great movies. We only made it for part of the 830 movie but our experience was to see the 1030 movie which was scream seven. It was great. I have never been to the drive-in movie theater and this experience is what I was looking forward to. They had a concession stand, but we didn't use it as we had our own food, but the vibe was amazing. Stay in your own vehicle and just put your feet up. Please turn your lights off when you go to the movie theater so we all can see the screen. I highly recommend trying this place.

The lines for spaces are quite dull once you arrive at your screen so find a space and hope nobody parks in front of you. The snack bar was sufficiently adequate with drinks, candy, and popcorn, but you can bring your own if you so choose. Tickets are $10 per person, saving anywhere from $12-$20 for 2 people to go vs a traditional movie theatre. The sound and screen quality was good for an outdoor movie and we enjoyed the nostalgia of watching a movie under the stars. Leaving was easy enough and I enjoyed my time there. For non IPIC worthy movies, the Starlight Drive In is a good alternative for a wholesome nostalgia boost!

If you want to do some shopping for some food or maybe just some shopping for a bite to eat, then this is your spot. You'll come into the market but you have to worry about parking because it's not free but if you're in the city you already know that. They have a validation for parking system there so you can make sure you use that, which is right by the door. There's also other places to park, which is street parking, that you could use your park mobile app as well if you'd prefer to do that or if the parking lot is full. This market has tons of items and things and anything you could think of for the most part. If you are feeling steak or Caribbean food then this is your spot to go to. If you just want some French fries or some oxtail then this is going to be a great place for it as well. There's a myriad of different stalls that you can buy food at that are ready. There's also places that you can actually buy fresh meat and seafood to cook at home. If you're trying to figure out where to go for some steaks or some oxtails or shrimp, you should check this out for sure. So overall I would say this is definitely a spot you should for sure try if you're trying to try some new dishes or if you want to buy some food to make at home. If you're trying to find something that's similar to an Asian market, for example, something off Buford Highway, this would be a good spot to check out. Picking up a couple of steaks and some shrimp is easy work for a spot like this. I actually would probably go for a holiday situation to where I was buying meat to put on the grill. If you don't want to get locked into something like Publix, this is a good spot so just keep that in mind.

We thought the options were basic, although different varieties, and weren't completely satisfied with the food we ordered. The service was nothing to rave about either but at least the restrooms and tables were clean. We also loved being able to walk on the trails in the surrounding neighborhood. We ordered a margarita pizza from Varuni, which was the most underwhelming if not disappointing pizza in our opinion. The crust was too soggy and the sauce was sour. It tasted like they just used a can of uncooked crushed tomatoes. We also ordered the fried turkey platter from Soul since we've never had southern comfort food. The turkey was seasoned well but was a bit dry and over fried, again just our opinion. Nonetheless, it was a better value and had more flavor than the pizza because the candied yams were delicious! Finally, we got after-meal drinks from Little Tart and the coffee was good. Overall, it wasn't the worst experience but we probably wouldn't eat at this food hall again. I would still suggest it to other first-timers since the location was really nice and it's good for groups because of the different options. The surrounding area is also a nice change from downtown, which is where we stayed.

It's a bit of a haul from Atlanta so I got up early one weekend and made the hour drive over to La Vaquita. Now, inside (and outside) really has everything, BUT I will say, this is a flea market in every sense of the word. It has a lot of junk, I mean that in the best (and I suppose, worst) way.
