I contacted three contractors to install a new irrigation/sprinkler system at my house. Out of the…read morethree Carlos Pineda came on top because of his technical understanding, responsiveness and can do attitude. Due to the new patio and retaining wall construction, it was a little complicated install. Carlos and the crew exceeded the expectations and delivered the perfect system with Rachio smart controller on time and according to the plan. Not every contractor was willing to submit a blue print for me to set my expectations. Carlos did that too and was phenomenal in explaining the watering needs for grass and flower beds along with maintenance requirements and options. He used Hunter PgP rotors which are best in industry and not the rainbird. After we needed couple of tweaks to the rotors and he tweaked those quickly. Can't be happier with the system.

We spent that first summer moving an old-fashioned sprinkler head connected to our hose from place to place in trying to save our grass... it just wasn't a long term solution. After researching different sprinkler companies and getting different quotes, we decided to go with LC Sprinklers and Lighting. The owner, Luis, gave us a reasonable quote (comparable to others that we got), but he won us over with his knowledge of irrigation systems and his professionalism. He was responsive and patient with us in answering our questions as we had never owned a sprinkler system before. On installation day, Luis and his team installed the sprinkler system in one day! While we were nervous as to how our yard would look after being opened up for the installation, Luis and team did a great job putting it back together (see picture). After the installation, Luis did a walk through with us to explain the sprinkler system and how to run it with our phones. He put the system through a test run, we walked each zone to discuss my concerns and issues; and then he came up with a plan to make the irrigation system more effective and reliable. I switched to Aqua Bright from Nature Unlimited several years ago. It was a mistake. This week they…read morenotified me they were on their way to my house, and it was a day EARLIER than they were scheduled to come, so we were out of town -- and it was a big digging job that you don't let someone do when you're not home. In addition, the tech we reached in the truck on the phone heading to my house on the wrong day did not seem to know why they were going to my house. (Aqua Bright didn't apologize about the wrong date when shown the original email with the original date--sent by them!--instead repeatedly calling it a "miscommunication," and claiming that they had sent updates using the incorrect date and so I guess expected me to pivot to the wrong date. I guess the idea is that by compounding their error it was my job to notice their. Instead of making it right, they offered a new date in almost 3 weeks, when I am out of town for work and at a time that is far too late for my new plants to survive. And this mess of an appointment was a reschedule from an earlier appointment, when the tech (who is himself a competent and kind technician) also didn't know what he was being sent for, so it was a total waste of a visit, made especially frustrating AFTER having spent a week or so finding a date when the landscape service and the irrigation tech could both be on site at the same time.
