The interior is open yet has a rustic charm, and the service was great and attentive throughout our meal. As for the food, it was a bit of a mixed experience. The lettuce wrap was a skip for me; the ground chicken was a little too "wet," making it messy to eat, and the flavor was just okay. The fried chicken had good seasoning but was overcooked and ended up on the dry side. On the brighter side, the herbal soup was flavorful with lots of fresh veggies, though the dill on top might be a bit much unless you're a big dill fan. The phad kee mao was excellent -- sweet, savory, and definitely the standout dish. And the shrimp eggroll came out piping hot and crispy, which was awesome. Back here to try their duck noodle soup. I believe it's a seasonal item. It is delicious, very good balance of sweet and savory, egg noodle and duck was delicious and tender. Highly recommend. We also tried their crab fried rice, so good and addicting, especially with their sauce. This is my family's go-to location. The food is always delicious and we each have our favorite dishes. I love the curry lunch set, which is only offered on weekdays. Daughter loves either of the wings and the Chinese sausage fried rice and we all love the pad see eiw. We will try different things here and there, and have found that everything is good! I was recently here for an event and I am reminded of why Isarn is still one of my long standing favorite Isarn style food restaurants. Some of the new dishes I tried which took me by surprise were: Northern Thai Leaf Cup Nibbles - I had no idea what to expect from this. I've never had betel leaves this way before. It came with all these side bits. All the textures & flavor combo together with the tasty sauce was a total surprise. Sweet Corn Salad with Young Coconut - a unique salad similar to the papaya salad. It was so good and something that's a little different. Southern Crab Curry with Vermicelli Noodles - this one really hit home for me. It reminds me of a Cambodian version made from fish call nom banchok. All the fixings are the same except this soup is made with crab and a differently spiced curry. One of my favorite thai spots for the north-end. Been here several times and have tried multiple dishes and drinks. My go to drink is the lychee martini. Very strong. For food, I've tried the lemongrass chicken wings, garlic sautéed mushrooms, northern curry, phad see eiw, hat chicken, the steamed chicken with rice and etc. highly recommend anything on the menu. Pretty impressed with this place! I had a friend in town who loves all types of "noodles" so I was in search of a place with a nice ambience that would fit our needs. It is located in a little strip mall area and we had about a 15 minute wait on a Thursday evening. The restaurant is small and cute and the menu includes cocktails and a wide variety of options. I tried a mocktail which was tasty and refreshing and my friend tried a spicy margarita which was also reported to be tasty. We shared lettuce wraps, shrimp pad thai, tofu pad kee mao, and a scallop curry. We were all a admittedly a little skeptical when the DIY lettuce wraps came out (we were just used to the pseudo-Chinese style P.F. changs ones) but they ended up being tasty and I enjoyed the refreshing sauce that came with them, but not my favorite dish of night. The other dishes wowed me though. The pad kee mao and pad thai were both flavorful and delicious, with large portions. The scallop curry was also delicious - my only wish was that they had something else besides just curry and scallops (like bamboo shoots, peppers, something else to soak up the sauce). Additionally, we had to order rice on the side for the curry, which I feel should come with the dish automatically since it would be very difficult to just eat this rich dish without a vehicle. Of note, everything here did tend towards the sweeter side a little bit (all of the dishes), but we didn't mind. At the end of it all, the total of 3 people (with generous leftovers) was about $100 before tip, which we felt was reasonable for the quality of the dishes. We left satisfied and I have already made mental plans to come back again in the future (maybe to try the khao soi and maybe for happy hour). read more

When the wings arrived they looked burnt, had no flavor, and were the smallest wings I've ever seen. Great Thai place in Lynnwood. I came here with some friends quite hungry, and we did come at an off time for dinner (around 5pm on a Sunday), so we were seated right away and the food came out pretty quickly. Service was very courteous and attentive. It was quiet at that hour, but not sure how loud it would be if it were more packed. I had the Thai tropical curry which came with a huge portion of salmon and was very flavorful, I loved the fruits and the little bit of sweetness they added. There was plenty of seating midday on a Saturday - we (group of 2) were seated immediately. The staff were swift and efficient. The food also came out pretty quickly. They have happy hour which is $1-2 less than the normal price (at least for cocktails). Food: we ordered chiang mai curry noodles, duck egg soup and mussel omelet. The chiang mai curry noodles have a creamy spicy peanutty soup with some a noodles that soften in the soup. Very flavorful and thick but still comforting. The duck egg soup was sweet and thinner but still comforting. Sometimes duck has a particular weird tinge to the taste. The duck in this had a bit of that gamey taste. We ordered the mussel omelet off of the happy hour menu. It was delicious, but very fried. And, unfortunately I bit into a mussel shell halfway through this dish. When I pointed it out, they took the plate with the shell and offered to make the dish again. It was too fried and greasy to eat another one so we said no. I thought they would comp the dish, but they ended up giving 10% off the entire meal instead. I hope they are more careful moving forward. read more

Great place in Lynnwood to pickup some great vegan thai food. I love-love-love the fact that they include a separate Vegan/Vegetarian menu! My pictures aren't all that great because we ordered via Uber Eats and instead of a nicely plated dinner at a restaurant, the food was bouncing around in a box while being delivered lol, not their fault at all, couldn't be helped. The food itself was really tasty, the flavor for all of the dishes being very on point, the noodles and tofu in the Pad Thai serving the perfect 1-2 punch, the Tofu with Thai Basil bringing the freshness with the greens, and the Mushroom Fritters brought it all home with the umami flavor and sauce to tie it all together. I'm also including screenshots of their online menu to give you an idea of all the great options they have available. In my next visit, I'm going to be torn between going for the Mushroom Fritters again or maybe the Sweet Corn Salad, or possibly the Cabbage with Black Pepper! I tried the Pad Kee Mao for the first time and oh wow I am a fav, lovely thick chewy noodles drenched in an amazing sauce that makes you come back for more. I feel the bigger they got opened More locations it's got worse. The papaya salad was amazing you can tell they could tell they cut it by hand. Now it looks pre-cut from a machine and taste it. I got the food to go for the first time normally I eat there. I had the Pad See Ew and it was not good at all chicken was dry and not flavor the noodles had no flavor I could even eat the broccoli because it was cooked all the way. Hat Yai Fried Chicken (Gai-Tod-Hat-Yai): My husband and I devoured this entree with flavorful skin, seasonings, spices intact, dipped in sweet chili sauce. Our son loved it! Southern Thai Fried Chicken tasted very yummy and moist. Phad See Eiw: We loved the flavors from the stir fried, wide rice noodles which complemented the flavors of moist chicken, eggs, broccoli, and carrots. Northern Style Sweet Curry (Gang-Hung-Lay): We ordered mild spice level 1. This bowl has an abundance of flavors in the broth, pickled garlic, fresh julienne ginger slices, and tender chunks of flank steak is definitely a winner! Comforting broth perfectly immersed with the sticky rice. My husband and I loved this curry. Sticky Rice: Big bowl of extra rice for $2.50 was sufficient for soaking up the curry and accompaniment to the fried chicken. Sweet Young Coconut Cream (Bua-Loy-Khai-Warn): Dessert is served warm in coconut cream, surrounded with huge tapioca balls, and coconut meat simmered together in the entire coconut. My husband and I loved the taste because the natural sweetness calms the palate and you're able to scrape the excess, fresh coconut with a spoon from the bottom and top inside. Above and beyond, excellent customer service experience from MOD, chefs, servers with regards to ordering and arrival of entrees, water and napkin refills, dessert recommendation of mango w/ sticky rice even though it's not on the menu. Solid Thai experience! This location does not take reservations and was absolutely packed on a Saturday night so we pivoted from dine into take out. We ordered the pork skewer, northern curry, southern curry, fried rice, and a Thai iced tea. Service was quick and well prepared- excellent portions at a reasonable price. This place had a welcoming feel from the moment you walk in the server politely seated us, and got our drinks quickly as we looked through the menu. We had the phad tai that came with stir fried rice noodles and layered with tofu, and chicken and topped with fresh bean sprouts and crushed peanuts. It had a nice texture and my friend who was gluten free enjoyed the wide choices and how carefully they prepare their food. I had the phad see eiw that had stir fried wide noodles (was a bit soggy but doable) and scrambled eggs, broccoli, carrots and chicken with a nice black soy sauce. After arriving at our hotel driving directly from the airport, we were starving and just decided to go with a place that was nearby. This was at prime dinner hour, but when we walked in, we were able to get a seat immediately in the crowded dining room. Isarn doesn't have a lot of the traditional American Thai restaurant offerings (e.g. Red/Yellow/Green/Panang/Massaman/etc Curry), and instead has a smaller, more curated menu that we were interested in. We ended up getting a couple of dishes: Hat Yai Fried Chicken ($15.5) - This seems to be just chicken, covered in some kind of marinade, then put straight in the fryer and garnished with fried shallots. There's no discernible breading; instead, it seems to be fried at a very high temperature, which allows the fat in the skin to render out and deliver an exceptionally crisp exterior. The breast has some exposed meat that is not protected by the skin, making it brown and crisp. The flavor of the chicken really comes out in this dish, pairing very well with the sweetness of the fried shallots, and is especially nice with the sweet chili sauce on the side. (4/5) Sticky Rice ($2.50) - Since the chicken doesn't come with rice, we ordered a side of the sticky rice. The rice is served in a fold-over type sandwich bag on a plate. The rice is quite dry and honestly a bit disappointing from both presentation and texture. I don't think this was worth the money. Chiang Mai Curry Noodles ($15.95) - The broth is a winner. Super savory umami, a bit spicy, and quite sweet curry flavor. Just drink it as a soup and you'd be satisfied. There's an entire chicken quarter, tender but not quite fall-off-the-bone on a bed of chewy, slightly snappy and frilly egg noodles, and topped with crisp and oily fried noodles on top. I do wish there were a bit more of the cooked noodles in the soup. On the side is a small container of chopped red onion to add some herbal freshness and some preserved greens, along with a side of chili oil. The chili is very smoky, almost like a jalapeno and is quite spicy. It starts off with only the tiniest of heat, but starts building and building and the pain lasts for quite a while afterwards. Be careful if you use that chili oil. (5/5) It's rare that I comment on the decor of the restaurant, but this restaurant is gorgeous in its design. From the cover of the menu, which is a colorful woven plastic that is a throwback to the bags I've seen in SE Asia, to the varied decor inside, there has been serious thought put into the design of this restaurant. As we dined through the golden hour, it got dim enough that the lighting popped on. The lighting is designed so that each table has a lamp above it, creating pools of light that provides intimacy through an almost physical delineation of the pools of light. The light level is overall perfect - bright enough so you can see your food and the rest of your party, but dim enough to create ambiance. Overall we quite enjoyed our meal at Isarn. We're looking forward to visiting again in the future to try out some of their other menu items. Bathrooms - Two individual rooms, one for each gender. Both are gigantic. read more

They have a unique sweet saucy flavor. I also ordered the pork strips which is a nice crunch and goes great with the fried garlic. The Thai Beef Salad is a good balance for protein and veggies. I got the 3 star spicy level. They really do make it spicy, just fyi. I have been here a handful of times over the past several years, and food and service is always consistently great. Many dishes have a slight twist to them and set them apart from a lot of the standard local Thai restaurants. Their seasonal watermelon drink was amazingly refreshing, not too sweet, and definitely made with fresh fruit. Highly recommended! My least favorite part of our meal was the roti (that came with the lamb massuman curry), which was deep fried and just too greasy for the dish. Spiciness level could be a little amplified - 2 out of 3 stars felt more mild to me (at least this time). Otherwise, flavor is great for each dish and don't think you can go wrong with trying anything on the menu. Plating is always on point as well. Overall 4.5/5 stars. Always worth coming back for more. I was drawn to Isarn Thai Soul Kitchen from the raving reviews online and I am so glad my husband and I stopped in! I ordered the crab stir fried with curry, and my husband ordered the Thai tropical curry which came with salmon. We both got spice level 2, and it's a 1-3 spicy level range. My first bite led me to say, "this is literally the best food I've ever had". Delicious! Decadent! We both love spicy food, and could have gone up to 2.5 if they could have but it wasn't too spicy for us. It's a good starting point to try it out, but we love spice so we could handle a 3 next time. If you're not into spicy food you can get a 1 and you would still enjoy these dishes. The coconut water helps balance your palette. I would give this restaurant a five, but our server wasn't very friendly and was a bit rude. It's a spacious restaurant establishment, but we felt rushed to the very back table away from everyone else and the sever was rushing us to order and rude when we weren't ready yet. It was our first time so it took us a bit to read through the menu, and naturally I was taking a quick picture of the coconut before deciding on my entree.
