My insurance plan changed last July, so I had to find a new doctor. I selected him based on my location and allow doctors in my plan. He is very caring, and very knowledgeable without ant attitude. His staff seems to really care about each and everyone who comes in. My daughter was sick, and after 2 different quick clinics, we went to Dr Patel. He correctly identified what was wrong, prescribed meds and lifestyle changes, and she was better quickly. I have recommended him to all my coworkers, and feel he is the best doctor you could find. Also, you can usually get an appointment within 24 hours of calling in, verse the 2 weeks - 2 months I experienced with other doctors. read more

My family and I have been going to see Dr Patel since Dec 2000. We originally went because my 14 month old daughter had RSV, a respiratory infection. Because of the contagious nature of this condition Dr Patel wanted us all to be examined so that we would not be passing it back and forth. He did an in office urine exam and took blood samples which he sent out. He then asked me if I knew I had blood in my urine. "Well no, how much is too much?" Any, was his response. To make a long story short, he followed up in a month, then ordered a urologist to examine my bladder, then an ultrasound, CAT scan and MRI. Cysts showed up on my kidneys. He had a Nephrologist check on these. The nephrologist then ordered a follow up MRI almost a year after the first one. This time the cysts showed a solid mass. "Bill, you have a tumor in your kidney and it is growing fast," said Dr John Croushore, the urologist Dr Patel put on the 'team'. Dr Patel is a medical Quarterback! Within a week I was in surgery having my right kidney removed. The pathologists report confirmed I had a Renal Cell Carcinoma, a nasty cancer. Dr Patel saved my life. He literally followed up on every one of my appointments, test, etc and left nothing to chance. About 3 years ago he did the same for my oldest daughter who had a kidney infection that no one else seemed to find the time to diagnose correctly. So, having never seen Dr Patel I have no idea what the practice is like, but the receptionist was the rudest lady I have talked to in the phone in a Long Long time. When she answered the phone she already sounded annoyed. I told her I wished to make an appointment and her one word response of "name" was full of pure ire. I would have told her I was a new patient if she's literally given me seconds before cutting me off to ask for my name. So after we struggle through spelling my name she asks me for my insurance and I tell her. She says they don't take it, and doesn't even let me get to the PPO part where you can see people out of network. Maybe that doesn't matter, health insurance is weird, but that's kinda what I thought he point of a PPO was. But I would never go here anyway purely based on how much she obviously dislikes phone calls or people or whatever. Maybe she was having a bad day, but my instinct leans toward no and she's just frustratingly brisk. *Update! I work right around the corner from the doctors office. Several of the people in our office rave about Dr. Patel. Cursed with a sinus infection that's lasted over a week, I decided to visit their office to see if they were excepting new patients. I was told they were and that they could fit me in later this afternoon, so then I asked if they accepted my insurance. When I was told they did not, I told them I would self-pay so I could be seen today still. Dr. Patel came out and told me he was too busy to see me and I had to go to my assigned doctor. I told him I didn't want to go through my insurance and I don't have an assigned doctor since I haven't been to one in over 2 years, and definitely not since being forced to get on an Obama care approved plan. I just wanted to pay out-of-pocket. Again I was told that they could not see me because i had to go to my approved doctor and they were too busy. It was extremely frustrating as all I wanted to do was get an antibiotic. Obamacare sucks. read more

Unfortunately, I have not had much of a great experience with this doctor. I came in to get my labs completed as a requirement for graduate school. At the appointment, I brought in the paper that listed the labs to be completed. When the results came back a few labs that were required on the documentation were missing. I understand that these things do happen, so I returned to the office to see about doing another test to obtain these values. When I met with the doctor he asked me why I did not mention this before and to not assume that these labs should be completed, even though the documentation provided initially asked for these values. I was dismissed with him telling me "I was wasting his time" as he wrote an order for me to complete the labs elsewhere. I do understand that these mistakes do happen, but did not expect the doctor to tell me I was wasting his time as I did not come to blame him for his mistakes, but was met with defensiveness anyway. Other times he has been kind and has was helpful with answers, so I was not expecting this on my return visit. read more

Let me start by highlighting a few key points. First, Dr. Patel seems to err on the side of Integrative Medicine. This is fantastic as he doesn't just believe perscription medications are a cure-all. He enterains the ideas of natural health as well! Second, Dr. Patel seems to be more abreast of current scientific and medical research, sharing new findings versus some practitioners who continue to spew the 30 year old research they learned in medical school. Lastly, and this is my favorite, if Dr. Patel doesn't know about something (and lets be real, doctors are almost always making educated guesses), he's not going to give you a b******* answer. I've been seeing Dr. Patel since 2002. He has always been helpful, listened well and given good advice. Sometimes he recommends just over the counter vitamins to help with issues and sometimes prescribes but it always is warranted. My husband started seeing him and now my 6 month old goes to him. He has yet to do us wrong...though I will say the person on the phone has been short with me a time or two, but i do not believe in bringing his review down as a doctor because of someone else's bad day. read more

I have been going to Dr. Patel since my first child was born over 10 yrs. ago. Since then, he has taken on the rest of our family including me and my husband. He always gets you in whenever you need it and his staff is nice. I like that he himself treats his patients and he doesn't have nurses and PA's doing his work for him. read more

Doctor Patel is friendly, caring and amazingly knowledgeable. He listens carefully and spends time with each patient. He makes a personal connection to each patient and remembers patients ongoing problems. He is one of those doctors that is not dependent on the lab tests and scans for every single problem. Most often, he makes diagnoses right there in the office and starts treatment. However, if he is in any doubt, he informs you and orders labs/scans. In our cases, the lab results have always confirmed his initial diagnosis. The staff is very friendly as well and respect patients time and they never overbook! So we always know that there is no or minimal wait time. Anytime I have needed Dr Patel, he has been accommodating, even when I had an emergency and showed up at the office closing time. That helps a lot with my constantly changing schedule. He takes blood tests in his office and sends the results by Email which saves tons of time in our busy life. If the lab results are not too bad, he calls you to tell you (on the phone) to increase/decrease the dose of the medication or ... He knows the list of medication that we use and write refills whenever our pharmacy contacts him. Dr Patel has been a great help to my family and we highly appreciate him. I recommend him to all my friends and I hope you will be lucky enough to call him when he accepts new patients. read more

Wow! Just left Dr Patel's office and boy am I extremely impressed. I am very picky when it comes to doctors means that I am in a medical field myself and I know what is capable of medical personnel . From the moment I walked in I knew I was going to experience something different at Dr Patel was the one behind the desk and give me my new client paperwork. Most the time the doctors are not seen until you've been waiting for them in the exam room. I was not asked to fill out pages of background information, Dr Patel verbally asked about my about my medical history he was very open to hearing everything I wanted to discuss. Dr Patel left after my examination and when he came back he had years of lab work from my other doctors, which I had not even told him who I had seen, and he took it upon himself to view my medical records and take a thorough look into previous laboratory tests. I ended up hearing something that I should have probably heard from other doctors in years past and left with every prescription I requested feeling good about my appointment and secure in his diagnosis. Only complaint is trimming the trees in front where it says Medical Center hard to find the suite. Already recommended to a friend. read more

So about 2 months ago i went to see Dr. Ish Patel. At that time he checked my bp and said i should start taking double the dose from 20mg to 40mg so i did. well as a result i ran out and had to go to CVS to refill script. they said i don't have any refills left. so they sent request over to the doc. well in the mean time CVS gave me enough to get me by the rest of weekend. Well I noticed they only gave me 3 pills (60mg total) So i asked them why on 3 they said i am supposed to take 1 a day. I told them what happened. they said i have to talk to doc. So i went to doc. to fix the mistake. they tell me that i have to pay them for an office visit for them to fix paper work. (when it was Ish Patel, MD that had made mistake, and did not update my paper work.) So i decided to find another doc cause this is not the first time i had a problem with this dr. So i told them i was going to find another doc. cause i don't want to get ripped off. I grabbed a card off there desk so i could right a review. so i am sitting in the parking lot using my phone. then all of a sudden 3 cops pull up and start questioning me. i have never been so embarrassed in my life. I feel insulted and angry. I did nothing wrong. the Doctor was wrong. read more

The office staff were very unprofessional and rude. They filed our claim incorrectly and had no patient to take care of it. Kept asking us to call the insurance company (We did). It's okay to make mistakes but you gotta take care of the problems. We are their patients, also their customers too. Dr. Patel has left me in chronic pain now for 6 yrs. He would not listen to my problems of pain. He promised to put me in touch with Docters that could help, that never happened. I have now had six surgeries to correct the pain brought on by his lack of skill. I'm bed ridden all because he had to get out of town for a long weekend I would not recommend this so called docter to work on a dog. Please don't let him hurt you. read more

After searching for a pediatritian for 3 months with no luck, we were recommended to Dr. Patel. He isn't a "pediatritian" but he is an amazing family doctor. Since our first meeting two and a half years ago my whole family now sees him. Dr. Patel takes time to talk to and listen to his clients. He obviously wants what is best for each individual and acts accordingly. My first visit he told me what was wrong and did a blood test to prove it. Something other doctors had missed for many years. Do not go to this "Doctor". I went to him because I had a cold. I had gone to him before for some blood work prescriptions as I am pre-diabetic. For the cold he gave me the strongest medicine possible. It just burnt my stomach. He did not even take 5 mins to examine me. When I asked him for the blood work prescriptions which he had on his hand he wanted me to come a second time to get the prescriptions. He is too greedy ... This is about my experience as a new patient to this clinic. Dr Patel has many positive reviews and was one of the more highly rated Dr's listed as accepting new patients as a primary care physician for my insurance. I have not been to a PCP in several years, but see several specialists so I have a general idea where I stand, but decided to get an annual wellness visit which is available through my insurance for a $0 copay. I call and they had next day availability which I was very excited and somewhat surprised by, perhaps this should have been a red flag. I told them what insurance I had and that I was coming in for a wellness exam as a new patient. I arrived on time for my appointment and completed the new patient paperwork and waited for 30 minutes as people who arrived after myself were shown back. At the 30 minute mark I was promptly informed that there is a $150 fee to be established as a new patient. I would never have booked the appointment by phone had this been explained when I first tried to make the appointment and would have saved well over an hour of my time traveling to and from the office. I called several other PCP offices and they all verified that my visit would be whatever my insurance copay is, but the would be no other charges. read more

I went to Dr. Patel in May after I experienced a car accident in March and was still facing pain after 2 months of yoga. When I first walked in the receptionist was cold and uninviting although she did seem very busy so I was willing to overlook this. When the nurse came back to do my intake, she did not speak English very well, which is GREAT for her speaking two languages but not great for me trying to explain what everything meant. When I got in to see the doctor his explanation was not that I needed physical therapy for sharp shooting pains, but that I needed to increase my vitamin D, continue doing yoga, and prescribed me muscle relaxants. In fact, he went on to continue to tell me that I was very overweight (I'm not), was going bald (I'm not) and was going to get diabetes if I didn't do something immediately like decrease my sweet intake (I really only eat fruit when my sweet tooth hits me). This was all unsolicited advice as I was just there to get a referral for physical therapy. I finally convinced him to refer me after I called in again after my visit and it did help. Sometimes you REALLY should listen to your patients. I will not be returning. read more
