Ordered the beef shwarma and side order of lamb kebob. The shwarma definitely felt like it was reheated and a lot of it was kind of mushy. There was some water below the rice, which I presume was caused from it being rehated. The roasted tomato was also cold on the inside. The lamb kebob I got was dry. I tried to insert my fork into one to cut with the knife and the piece of kebob bounced around the plate. I did notice that it did say there was a new owner earlier this fall but was quite disappointed, especially because I was the only patron in for lunch. read more

I was fortunate enough to eat here twice so far. My first time there it was a nice and more open. Now it's a bit more desolate and understandable because of the pandemic. The Ishtar Mix Plate was plenty enough for one. Variety of meat options that was placed on top of well seasoned balsamic rice and fresh garnishes and a tomato. The service was very simple and nice. Just wished the server at the time would check on me with my meal and food. I can tell he was still learning. Plus the time that I went at was slowly picking up traffic with people coming in and waiting for their food pick-up orders. Overall, I would recommend this place to my family and friends. read more

Hard as a rock, tendons and fat is extremely elastic and hard to get rid of, and the meat tastes as if it was sitting there for few days. This didn't happen just once, many times. Our order consisted of the vegetarian grape leaves, chicken shawarma plate, lamb tikki plate and side order of Arabic bread, garlic sauce. Everything was made fresh to order and tasted amazing. I hate posting less than stellar reviews but here it is: We decided to grab some shawarma platters and came in to a half-filled room of patrons with only one table that had their meal so started off with the environment not as inviting and surprisingly a lot of folks waiting for take-out. I can understand why there were so many take-out orders now. The food to me was delicious. The overall service.... just think of every restaurant experience before they got on Kitchen Nightmares. It took so long to get our order and the server had to confirm which order we had as she did not have a notepad. (Note: We only ordered three platters and hummus.) Our food didn't come out at the same time. I never got my tea even after the server pitched to me about it being free. Even trying to pay so we can get the heck out took 15 mins because it took the two gals were busy flirting taking one take-out order! Overall... the young servers were nice until you hear that they notice other patrons mad during the gossip time. They need better training and management on customer service. Just be aware that if you've been to the Ishtar in Detroit or similar, fantastic restaurants, this one is completely opposite and they just don't care. Good food though. read more

Advised their waitress/hostess I had gluten allergies prior to ordering, was told certain items were gluten free after confirming with their chef, $60 bill and 2 hours later I was sick for 3 days. Never going back. I'm middle eastern and have eaten at other middle eastern establishments that promote real gluten free items and I've never once gotten sick. This is a great little place. Tons of variety, authentic flavors and good prices. We had the 4 app choice and their baba ganoush, veg samosas, eggplant and zucchini fries were outstanding. I heard about this place from a couple of Friends and decided to try it out and see if we end up liking it. We got the chicken wraps first bite the chicken was sooo dry. This was supposed to be chicken gyro, but there was no sauce in there. I don't know what was in, but it made me sick for the next 2 days. I would honestly not go back here and I suggest they learn how to make gyros. Please make the chicken juicy and not so dry and disgusting. read more

Salam brothers and sisters, I also left this review on their "Shawarma King" yelp page, they are the same location, same restaurant. I went into the door that says Shawarma King, and yet the receipt said Ishtar Grill. The pictures for both locations are the same. Tldr; Old & gross food, they won't get your order right, and they will RIP YOU OFF. BE CAREFUL PLEASE. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE RESTAURANT. Do not come to this restaurant unless you desire old food that was clearly made the previous day and simply reheated, or if you wish to get STOLEN FROM. We ordered 3 plates and an appetizer. Asked for no pickles in the wrap- but received the chicken shawarma wrap with pickles. Asked for a beef shawarma platter- received a WRONG order as a beef wrap instead. Bad service but we did not feel like sending it back since we wanted to enjoy ourselves. Disappointing but we dealt with it at the time. We could not really eat the food anyway, because it was disgusting. It was very clear to us that, with the speed of which they brought the food out and the fact that they did not prepare the chicken wrap without pickles, that it had not been prepared that day. The meats were different colors and the wrap bread was hard with the paper around it stuck to it. Fry sauce is usually my favorite but this one was disgusting. The sauce for the salad was /rancid/. We dealt with it, whatever. Got our receipt, saw that it was less than $40, sent it away with the waitress to pay at the cash register with our card. THIS IS THE WORST PART: It was not until a few days later that we check our charge online and see that we were actually charged around $100!!?! We pulled out the receipt that they gave back to us after paying, it did not say Shawarma King on the top but instead said "Ishtar Grill" (and we definitely went into shawarma king), and it turns out they had returned some other receipt with this new amount on it?? It said we ordered 2 Fish orders, 2 custom orders, 5 chicken shawarma's, and 1 beef shawarma. What the ????? What, did my family of three pay for the entirety of the restaurant that day? Very embarrassing for fellow Muslims to see this type of thieving behavior. We got played and tricked. I do not ever leave reviews, but I do not want to see other people getting tricked by this restaurant. Proven further by their need to have more than one Yelp page. If you do choose to go, make sure you check your receipt both before AND after, in case they try to switch it as they did with us. EDIT: I searched up the address on the receipt for this "Ishtar Grill"... it takes you to a random home in Millcreek, Utah. NOT GLUTEN-FREE OR CELIAC FRIENDLY. Most places are happy to substitute rice for bread if they serve both. (And why not, rice us a lot cheaper!). But not this place: you have to pay for an extra side of rice even if you can't eat the bread that comes with your meal. Also, their Felafels are often over cooked. Happily, "O' Felafel, Etc" just down the street are more caring of their customers heath, happiness, and wallets . They were happy to save both themselves and me money by substituting rice for the bread I (very sadly) can't eat. read more

Ordered a Kings meal for two. It came with a variety of meat, chicken, beef and lamb and a good amount of rice, along with roasted tomato, onion, and a jalapeño. It fed me, my wife, and our two kids with some leftover for lunch. My wife asked me which kind of meat I liked the best and I couldn't decide. It was all so good. The spices used in the ground meats were different than anything I've tasted and absolutely delicious. The meal also came with a large salad and house dressing which I wish I had a large bottle of.
