    Chicken Lebanese Platter

My friends and I went Saturday night for dinner and had a lovely time! We ordered the dip trio with the beet, baba ganoush and the muhamara. My favorite was the beet dip but they were all delicious! The pita bread was nice and yummy too! For dinner I just had the meatballs, one friend had the steak and the other had a platter of some sort. The meatballs were fantastic but the tzatziki from my friends dish definitely help. The steak was so undercooked it was almost raw. It was almost blue. For dessert we had the croissant beignets and these were quite possibly one of the best things ever!! Raspberry, cinnamon butter and a chocolate sauce. They were hot, crispy, flaky, and just delicious!!! Fantastic way to end a meal.

Inspiring quote and beautiful mural. Sets a great tone!

We stopped in for dessert after eating dinner nearby, and we're so glad we discovered this great place! The baklava I was craving was absolutely delicious & the service was outstanding, especially since we weren't staying long before heading to a concert. The welcoming vibe also made for an especially pleasant experience. We ordered babaganoush to go, since we weren't staying long & were pinched for time, and it was seriously the best I've ever had. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend!

Had a really nice meal at Laziz. I would give the food a solid 4 stars but I have to bump up the review to 5 stars for the service. Just super chill, very attentive, very laid back staff. Ordered the following: Samper Dip Plate - Great Presentation Lebanese Platter w/ Lamb Meatballs - Great variety Grape Leaves This was the first time I ever had grape leaves served warm . I have to say I'd prefer grape leaves served cold. I would definitely go back here to try other delicious sounding food on the menu. I will make this a must-stop when visiting SLC in the future.

Came here for dinner on a Friday night. Was not too crowded. Did make a reservation to be on the safe side. Food was so good and would come back as there are so many different things to try. Very cozy and intimate setting though also space for a big group depending on how busy they are and if you get in contact with them ahead of time.

This was my second time here. Great food, excellent service and very clean spot. I came for lunch both times. More like late lunch and ordered the salad bowl with lamb meatball with a side of rice. I also got the sampler. Everything is delicious and tastes fresh here. I definitely loaded myself before my trip out of Salt Lake. For that reason, I'll definitely return to this place any time I'm back in Salt Lake. Worth every penny and every minute.

My first time in SLC and found Laziz Kitchen on TikTok... I was a little nervous at first because TikTok can be a hit or miss on food recommendations but I'm glad I decided to check this place out! I was greeted by the hostess immediately and welcomed with amazing service by the entire staff. I ordered the Zaatar roasted veggie bowl with chicken and I couldn't leave without trying the Croissant Beignets (sooo yummy!) Everything was fantastic and so delicious. I can confidently say I have a new favorite restaurant to visit every time I'm in SLC

Great food and environment. The ingredients were fresh, flavor was balanced and well portioned and presented. There were plenty of vegan and gluten free options and the menu had a lot of variety of exciting dishes. Very attentive service. I would definitely come back!

In Salt Lake City and located Laziz Kitchen for a light and rewarding lunch. They have several locations, 9th Street worked for us. It was an overcast day, but an outdoor patio table with an umbrella worked out well. The menu has a varied selection with many intriguing choices. The beet dip with tahini, garlic and lemon juice was being served to a neighboring table and was a must try. The topping of fried garlic pushed this over-the-top. We also selected the lightly fried yet not battered cauliflower florets with salt, pepper and cumin dusting was nicely done. The tahini dressing was a good addition. Splitting a lamb burger mixed with cilantro, caramelized onions, sun dried tomato, crisp fried beets, feta and yogurt sauce was perfectly cooked. The flavor was good, able to taste the lamb and the contrasting crunch made us smile. An additional napkin was needed. The staff was very friendly, gave suggestions when asked and left us alone to talk. Laziz Kitchen is the TOP Mediterranean restaurant in SLC. The calm setting, great food and innovative flavor combinations should be shared with everyone. When we are back in town, Laziz Kitchen will definitely be on our list. Great job, fabulous food and a kitchen willing to try something different.

The kafta was different with what I tried in Lebanon but it was soft and tasty , the rice and lentils and onio which 8snvery common in west Asia countries like Iran, Lebanon and Syria and I liked it very much. Lebanese churros was something new and I belive the portion is too much for one person and needs little bit more cinnamon. Great service and good vibe, ill definitely try it in my next visit of salt lake city.

Okay, everyone needs to come here for a fantastic lunch! I am Lebanese and grew up eating several of the dishes we ordered. They did them justice and then some. The grape leaves, the beet dip, lamb meatballs, lentils and rice were all 10/10. I got the salmon taco, best fish taco I've ever had. I'm going to try and replicate the slaw it was topped with. I was too excited and didn't get any food photos but the place was beautifully decorated with a vibrant wall mural.

Laziz is a slam dunk. The space is gorgeous, the staff is attentive, and the food IS worth writing home about. We enjoyed as a family the lamb burger, standard burger, salmon salad, and falafel bowl. I truly could not tell you a single flaw I detected in the food's preparation or presentation. The lamb burger, my particular favorite, was perfectly cooked and filled with flavor, my mouth waters just thinking about it. I rest my case!

Laziz is a great restaurant. The atmosphere is welcoming and the interior is beautifully designed. It's the perfect spot for the light dinner full of flavor and variety. You have to try the Laziz Lemonade! It is so refreshing and tastes so good. To share, we got a dip sampler plate with hummus, and beet dip. It came with pita and fresh vegetables. The muhammara was my favorite! It has a little bit of spice and the walnuts on top add some crunch. We also ordered a side of sweet potato fries. They came with an incredible lemon tahini dipping sauce. For our main plates, we all ordered the Lebanese bowl. I got falafel and everyone else got chicken. It was a delicious plate with a little bit of everything. I'm all about the sauce, so the yogurt tzatziki sauce was my favorite part. Plus, the falafel was perfectly fried and crispy. For dessert, we got a baklava. It was delicious and flaky with a great pistachio crumble on top. You absolutely have to order one at the end of your meal.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon for quick lunch and really enjoyed the space. The food is super good and well priced! We shared a platter and the half zaatar fries, which was served super quick. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're looking for a Mediterranean fix in SLC!

I want to come work here! The food was really good, and really expensive! Our bill was $145 for the two of us. Our server Jaxson was really knowledgeable on the menu, and really friendly. Sad to say, I'm not quite sure what all the hype is about…read more We had to sit outside because the indoor dining room was fully booked for the show. The night actually started off great. Our server was funny, personable, and attentive, especially when it came to drinks and refills. Things started going downhill when I received my entree, the Poor Man's Truffle. Unfortunately, the only way this dish lived up to its name was in how little the supposedly high-quality ingredients seemed to come through. The dish itself is fairly simple, which normally isn't a bad thing when the ingredients are meant to speak for themselves. With Belper Knolle, truffle oil, pistachio pesto, tomato, fennel, and arugula, I expected something flavorful and well balanced. Instead, the entire dish tasted incredibly mild. Belper Knolle is typically a bold, salty, peppery cheese, and I could visibly see the black pepper around the edges of the thin shavings, but the flavor barely registered. I also couldn't taste the truffle oil at all. There was visible oil pooling at the bottom of the plate, but no noticeable truffle flavor. I understand pistachio pesto tends to be more subtle than a traditional basil pesto, but altogether, this dish just fell completely flat for me. The presentation didn't help either. It looked more like something that had been scooped from a pan and dropped onto the plate than a thoughtfully plated entree. When a dish misses both on flavor and presentation, that's when it becomes a real disappointment for me. I will say the gnocchi itself was cooked well, which was one of the few positives. I also tried the burger, and it was significantly better than my pasta. However, the very small sprinkle of bacon was a little baffling considering it was an additional upcharge. Where the night really went downhill was at the end of the meal. I had been excited to try the beignets because that isn't a dessert I see on menus very often. Our entree plates were cleared, and then we waited about 20 minutes before our server returned and asked whether we were ready for the check. Dessert wasn't mentioned, and by that point our table was tired of waiting, so we decided to skip it and asked for our checks. Then our server disappeared for another 30 minutes. We eventually had to flag down a hostess who was seating another table and let her know that we were still waiting for the check. About five minutes later, our server finally returned and casually explained how "crazy" the night had gotten because of the show. I understand restaurants get busy, but the apology felt very dismissive after we had waited nearly an hour from finishing our entrees to finally receiving the check. It genuinely felt like our table had simply been forgotten. I also want to add that I tend to hold restaurants like this to a higher standard. I'm a big believer in "you get what you pay for." If I'm eating at a fast-food spot or somewhere inexpensive and casual, there's only so much room to complain. But when a restaurant has prices like this, highlights premium ingredients on the menu, and presents itself as a more elevated dining experience, I think that naturally opens the food and service up to more criticism. At that price point, I expect the quality, presentation, and overall experience to reflect what I'm paying for. My final takeaway is that maybe I ordered the wrong dish. Pesto is one of my favorite things, so I almost always want to give a pesto-based dish a try. Unfortunately, Prohibition's pesto gnocchi was not it for me. I also saw that they describe themselves as a scratch kitchen using high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, which I don't necessarily doubt. What confused me was how so many ingredients that should have distinct flavors somehow tasted like almost nothing. If your goal is interesting drinks and a fun show, this is probably still a place worth considering. Since we sat outside, I can't speak on the show part, but it seems to be a big hit. Food-wise, though, it missed the mark for me.

In full transparency it has been 2-3 years since my first and last visit to Water Witch. I noticed this in my drafts and thought I should complete my review. That said, I think I hyped this place up in my head too much before my visit because of the James Beard nod. So when it didn't quite hit the mark for me, I was disappointed. It's quite an intimate bar. By that I mean small space inside. The main bar has seating of course and there are a few seating areas directly behind the barstool area. There is a small walkway that separates the bar and the seating area. So the seating area is looking straight forward at the bartenders and the backs of people on barstools. I felt like the people behind me were staring into my soul lol, but that's a me problem ha. It's a modern design and beautifully decorated. I had two drinks. One from the menu and one that I told the bartender what I liked and disliked. He then made a drink based upon my taste. In my opinion it tasted similar to the one from the menu, which was disappointing because I was hoping for something different. There was one bartender that evening and one bar back, so even with the few people at the bar (I'd say 6-7 including me and a guest) and the 4 people seated behind us. It took some time to get his attention and order a drink. Which is part of the reason I only had two drinks. I would probably give this place another try since it's been some time since I've been there. As I always like to say. Stop in and judge for yourself.
