They…read morerecently opened in June and are still trying to establish themselves as a fashion destination in Wicker Park/ Bucktown, but are well on their way to getting the recognition they deserve! The niche here is that it's literally a fashion house in the sense that Chicago designer Allison Helliwell lives, works, and sells out of her back alley storefront. Everything in the store is quite literally one of a kind and hand made by her. Not hard to get to, but it is located in a back alley off Damen ave N. at the beginning of a long row of independent boutiques. This can be tough when finding it, but worth checking out, even if it's only to try on one of Allison's hand made fur trimmed snow bunny coats. Just follow the banner on the South side of the building. If you shop at Urban Outfitters or Akira, this may not suit your price point, but her prices are comparable to Marc Jacobs or BCBG. The only difference is the handcrafted in Chicago thing they have going on. I suggest you stop in and check it out if only to browse and try something on! Snap a photo and put it on Facebook, and all your friends will be green with envy! Ohh yeah, I forgot to mention, my friend(who is a little bigger) had a jacket custom made here just for her! Allison took her measurements, and with a 50% down payment was able to tailor her one of her custom designs in a few days. She just goes over the fabric choices and lets you chose your favorite! There was no hesitation in bringing out several boots styles for me to try on. They suggested I walk around in their store to ensure comfort. During this process they did not push the sale onto you giving me the proper space to make a decision on my purchase. BOUTIQUE PRESENTATION- I've been to my fair share of boutiques in several states and contrary to most, this boutique has followed through with their theme. They are not all over the place with respect to their merchandise. The Western wear theme is very well pronounced and very tasteful. Not too much and definitely not lacking in inventory. This boutique is clean and very well kept. I saw not dust on the counters, tables, or furniture. Their merchandise stands out as you walk in and it is not cluttered which helps you appreciate it all from the Boots (shoes), Clothing, accessories, and more. The overall quality of the leather inside and out is solid 10. It is very obvious that these girls spent a good amount of time looking for the right fabricating products. The hair growth they picked for this bootie is absolutely stunning giving this boot classy feel. RICHARD PEWTER BOOT: This Pewter boot is quite eye catching. It's a risky style for someone like me who always wear all black. It a very bold yet very chic. It has the perfect amount of sassy if you will! GEORGE BLACK BOOT: HOT!!! This black heeled boot it perfect. I love that you can dress this boot up or down. This boot is designed to perfection. I saw Linda wearing these boots the day I came in and they way this boot hugged up above her ankle made me want to try these on. Now we all know not everyone can pull off the same style or look. Well this Boot ladies will hug your foot and leg so nicely that will make you do a double take on the mirror. The zipper on the back of the boot that runs form the heel to the top of the boot gives this boot such a clean look. LOUIE BOOT: I can go on a forever rant on this style. My absolute favorite. Really neat how if you donated cold weather clothes you were entered into raffle for free pair. They also had raffle to buy coveted pair of shoes. They had some shoes out but I have a feeling they have more in back, maybe for security purposes. Nice shop and was glad to donate clothing for a good cause. She happened to work there and told me she will look the shoe up from her phone and she mentioned that I could go up there and grab them as there was 1 pair left in my size. I went up there and grabbed them as well as looked around the store. They have a nice shoe selection considering the size of the store.
