Years ago I attended a poetry event and art auction inside the store but, since moving away, I'm not sure those events are still a thing. I hope they are. I couldn't count the number of sunglasses I have purchased from here if I tried. I always leave with at least one pair, a book, and various other items whether a tote bag, t shirt, button, cards, etc. I hope the business continues to be successful and would love to the location even expand a bit if that's something the owner is interested in.

One evening when we were given an estimated wait time of 30 minutes by Spacca Napoli for a patio table, we found that an excellent chance to visit Hazel, a mere 5-minute walk from the pizzeria. As soon as we walked inside Hazel, a friendly man behind the counter promptly greeted us.  I was impressed by the huge and well-curated collection of goods for all ages and styles.  Daughter was so excited to show me around as if it's her own store, lol.  On one wall was a huge display of greeting cards.  There were also jewelry, accessories, baby gifts, housewares, and gifts for men.  Prices were quite reasonable.  If you need a gift, there's really no excuse of not finding one to buy. We were there for 10 minutes having a great time browsing around, then my phone rang and I was told that our table was ready, so we hurried out without buying anything.  The friendly man behind the counter still politely said "thank you" to us! As now I read that they close at 7:00 pm during weekdays, I am even more impressed, because we actually stepped in the store 10 minutes before they closed, and they still welcomed us!  We will definitely be back!

The second time, I came back to buy the same ring, along with a bracelet and maybe the necklace if I didn't get it the first time. I wasn't given the no‑tax price this visit, and I'm not sure if the owner remembered me, but the experience was still very friendly. I do wish the ring I bought the second time hadn't scratched, but overall I really love my finds and would definitely go back again.

Today I paid Eskell a visit and found more of their gorgeous clothing, as well as clothing from a few other designers and a few racks of cool vintage clothing. Everything is reasonably priced and even more so when it's all marked down like it was today. And Kelly (one of the designers/owners) was a doll! We spent a few minutes looking at the clothes and other jewelry for sale and they had some really cute stuff, and prices seemed pretty reasonable especially for a small boutique. The highlight was definitely the woman who did our bracelets, she was so friendly and helpful and really made it a fun experience. They have a decently sized collection in both silver and gold, along with little charms you can add which I recommend! We walked in and had no wait on a Sunday afternoon, but apparently it can get busy so you may want to make a reservation.

But I've followed on Instagram and they have some beautiful jewelry, and I love jewelry, so I stopped in today whilst waiting for my coffee order at The Coffee Studio to be ready. The staff were nice; I was greeted immediately upon entering. I did get there as they were opening, so it was just me and the three employees. I wandered around for ten minutes or so. They have some beautiful merchandise for sure, and work with local artists as well as those further afield for their jewelry (at the very least). They carry pieces from at least half a dozen artists. Most of it is gold, and I'm not a fan of gold but they had a few silver pieces that interested me and I may be back for. The clothing was a skip for me, since I'm not sure they carry anything above a size four or so. They also had some clips/hair bands/head bands, and why did I spend a ridiculous amount on these? Because they're beautiful, I guess. I think what originally brought WG to my attention is that they do permanent jewelry. I'm really intrigued by this so I've checked into the places I know do it in the city. WG has particularly beautiful chains, and they have a variety of charms from red which to choose (I like the mama one now that I can call myself that!). I need to look at price and confirm that this is where I want to do permanent jewelry... but I think I might be back for that. As a word to the wise, the employee told me that I could come and do it as a walk in, but they recommend appointments on the weekend because it can be very busy. There's nothing but street parking around here, and it's not in the busiest part of Andersonville where there's more parking. There's some street parking on the surrounding streets, and don't forget about Ashland or as far north as Victoria and whatnot up by Gethsemane, which also has a short metered portion.

For the permanent jewelry, you get to look at what seemed like HUNDREDS of different chains, it was so hard to decide! I loved that the price was listed on each of the chains, so you know what to expect. For a ring made from the chains, it is 1/3 of the price listed. I thought this was such a reasonable price too! On top of it all- it was unexpectedly such a fun experience! I can so see this being a really fun activity for a bachelorette party, a birthday, even just a girl's day out after brunch. The people working were so fun and so knowledgeable, you'll feel like you're in good hands. It's been a few days and I already want to add to my bracelet stack.... She came up with the idea we should get permanent jewelry! So off to Alexandra Marks we went. You can choose between permanent bracelets or anklets and there are so many different chains to choose from and you can even add on fun charms. We all selected a gold tone metal chain and opted for anklets since they seemed more durable. Hot tip: Ask for your anklet to be looser so that it's not as tight and is less prone to breaking! We got champagne to sip on and it was such a fun experience throughout. They also let us know if our jewelry does fall off or needs to be cut off, the store will fuse it back together as long as you call/make an appointment and bring it back to them to fix. Highly rec coming here for your next girls night!
