Crazy...I was looking for this scarf I had seen in the Kohl's ad. I looked for it at every stinkin Kohl's in the area and didn't find it. Until I came here. I'm not even sure what the name of this store is -the receipt said "Ace Int'l Trading Company but it also might be part of "So Good" Accessories. Anyway, they had the scarf -for $6. They had a bunch of other cool stuff too -crazy, fun costume jewelry, purses etc and it is all really cheap. This whole area is a dream come true for us cheap-fasionistas or "recessionistas" as we are being called now! Great place to check out! read more

What first looks like a bustling section of the worst part in Detroit, is really the best place to find deals on scarves, jewelry (no gold or diamonds), purses, and whatever else. My girlfriend said she just wanted to, "window shop" but we came out with two bags worth of goodies, all for her of course. She later promised me White Castle and it shut me up like a crackhead trying to get into a Turkish puzzle box filled with some of the finest crack you can find without crossing the Mexican border. All of the staff members were surprisingly helpful and pleasant. I was able to talk to Tim, the owner, while my girlfriend did her thing. She kept glancing back at us and I didn't know if she was looking at me or Tim. Luckily he was a nice guy who knew a lot more about the world than girls accessories or else it would've been lights out for him. Anyway I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great deal. I personally liked it because I actually had someone to talk to and keep me company. Sort of middle ground amongst the stores in this area; items are cheaper than next door at Nice Trading, but there's still room to walk in the aisles, unlike some of the jam-packed really cheap places where you can hardly see what you're getting. Selection of blinged purses and hats/gloves/mitts (it was January) in addition to jewelry, jewelry, jewelry. Liked that you can try on the cuff bracelets in the back, and the necklace displays were helpful as sometimes it's hard to tell what the long dangly ones would look like on. Wholesale but open to public on Saturdays. Yup, it's full of cheap bling from China; so's every other store on the block. read more

I'm not sure how I went so long without knowing this area existed. This store is my favorite on the block. Huge inventory like a lot of the other stores, but much less claustrophobic. Bright and not dusty. Bags under $30, scarves under $8, costume/trendy jewelry under $5, and basically anything crazy specific you would want. Need a ladybug brooch? A necklace with a blowdryer charm? Rhinestone tiara selection? Yes, they really do have anything you could possibly want. They used to only be open to the public on Saturdays but last time I was in they said they're now open 7 days a week. There's a credit card minimum ($20 or $25 I think) but it's pretty easy rack up that amount if you're browsing through their selection. read more

This use to be one of my favorite shops on Clark Street but I'm just not too impressed anymore. If you are looking for stud earrings or a pendant necklace with hair cutting scissors, seahorses, cannabis, whatever, they have it. So for those reasons; this is your shop. If you are looking for other jewelry, their selection is going downhill. They use to have cute sets of bracelets an different costume necklaces and nothing stuck out on my last visit. They also have a smaller selection of purses and handbags. I hope things look different the next time I stop in. There's way too much competition on the street. read more

A few months ago, I was at a jewelry boutique in Lincoln Square and really wanted to get these unique earrings, which cost $16. I thought that was pretty steep for earrings and decided to wait to see if Ace had them. Patience paid off and I found the same earrings for only $3!!! Score!!!!!!! Like most other broke students, I love me a good deal. But this place definitely isn't that great. There is a wide selection, but most of it very obviously looks cheaply made and quite frankly, tacky. Better looking accessories can be found at your Forever 21 or Charlotte Russe at a comparable price. read more

When I first walked in, I was so overwhelmed. This place is huge! One entire aisle of earrings, one entire aisle of necklaces - long, endless aisles of sparkly doodads, baubles, and bling. Ace is the perfect spot to pick up a trend. If you aren't sure how long that piece will be in style, surely you can drop $10 on a bold statement necklace and not have buyer's remorse. There was also a lot of big, sparkly stuff which is perfect for prom, homecoming, weddings, or wannabe ballers. Not to fret, there is a huge selection of post earrings from simple CZ studs to hearts, stars, and Eiffel Towers. I thought I would easily spend $30 or more here, but I walked out with a $4 silvertone necklace with sparkly pyramids. It's simple, but sort of trendy, so the price can't be beat. I can't speak for the quality, as I have only worn it once, but it is still shining and in one piece. It held up to my friend's baby pulling lightly on it. Even if the necklace "turns" and the metal doesn't stay shiny, I'm not going to be entirely surprised or disappointed. It was four measly dollars. Some of the items were goofy like the "BLACK GIRLS ARE HOT" earrings that each were bigger than the palm of my hand, as well as the bulky imitation Hello Kitty necklaces. Some of the necklace come on snake chains, and if you haven't experienced a snake chain with long hair - watch out, they pull your hair out! So you might want to switch the chains if you buy a necklace here. Some of the aisles on one end of the store, stocked with handbags and scarves, were rather bare and made the place look junky and picked over. Ace is CASH ONLY. There is a credit card minimum, but I believe it is $30. It is easy to reach $30, but bring cash just in case. read more

This place is a gem, seriously! They have millions of cool cheap jewelery and much more. They are so cheap you can buy a piece everyday and never have to wear the same necklace or earrings. I bought many things here at great prices. I mean they have the exact same stuff I see at department stores, so why pay more? They look the same! read more
