The new location in Bluffton is beautiful. It's obvious a great deal of time, effort, and investment went into renovating the space. The restaurant feels clean, inviting, and well thought out. One area that could use improvement is signage. The property has a drive-thru lane and drive-thru windows, which naturally led me to assume there was drive-thru service available. After circling the building, I realizing it wasn't operational, not a major issue, but clearer signage would help eliminate confusion for first-time visitors. Once inside, the staff was friendly and welcoming, which is exactly what I've come to expect from Island Bagel. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the standard I've experienced at their other locations. I ordered the Lowcountry Breakfast Sandwich. The bagel was under-toasted, and the eggs were overcooked. While "stale" may not be the perfect word, the eggs gave the impression that they had been sitting for a while rather than being freshly prepared. The fresh, made-to-order quality I've come to associate with Island Bagel simply wasn't there during this visit. I'm hopeful this experience was an exception rather than the norm. Based on my past experiences with the company, I know they're capable of delivering much better. While this particular visit fell short of my expectations, I would still encourage people to give Island Bagel a try, whether at this location or one of their others. My hope is that this was simply an off day and that future visits better reflect the quality I've come to expect from the brand. I purchased a half-dozen bagels today from Island Bagel, once the only place I would buy bagels in the area. Unfortunately, I was surprised to watch the employee bagging my order without wearing gloves, a huge hygiene concern. When I was able to try the bagels, I was surprised at the quality; the bagels were not cooked thoroughly and were raw in the middle. Went to the new one on Buckwalter Drive and had great coffee, ok breakfast sandwich, and ordered a salami and cheese to go for lunch. If you're hungry save your money and go accord the street to the gas station and get one with meat on it. This had a thin slice of salami and piece of cheese. This is one of my favorite spots for lunch. Yes lunch. Their bagels are really quite good, particularly considering how far south we are. But their lunch is phenomenal. Get the "Our Favorite" sandwich on their house made hoagie roll. The hand pulled turkey is perfectly peppery and unctuous and that schmear of cream cheese goes so well with the avocado and fresh toppings. Great little place to stop for breakfast. We rolled in at peak breakfast time hoping for a handful of breakfast sandwiches to hit the road. The wait was long, the line was long.they did a great job getting everything made and put in bags. Do not go during peak time if you don't want wait. I hate writing a bad review of a local establishment. Three weeks ago, I called to inquire about the opening of the new location on Buckwalter. Their signage has been on the building for months... Phone call- Me- "Hey there, I live 1/4 mile from the new Buckwalter location, when do y'all open," Island Bagel - "When we are open, you'll know....(and I was hung up on) 3/5 today I went in and ordered 4 sandwiches, I commented about the signage on the door stating the opening date was "unknown" I then explained what happened, with my call. The cashier apologized for the experience.... the lady with the clipboard (manager??) stared and nothing was said. So I walked away, if they do not care neither do I!!! read more

This place was SO busy when we were there. It was about 9am and there was a line out the door. We waited probably 14 minutes before we could order. However they made our order quickly and it was yummy! We liked the garlic bagel the best. Yum! On our way to HHI we stopped at Island Bagel and Deli for lunch. Good choice! Friendly people, upbeat music playing, and delicious food! I got a make your own sandwich- pastrami and cheese on a tomato wrap and heated. Fresh and so good it made my taste buds do a happy dance! They also have a variety of bagels with many flavors of cream cheese - something I've only really seen in NYC. I'm planning to get some to go for breakfast tomorrow. I have been a customer of the Island Bagel Company for 4 Years. Every time I walk in I am greeted and immediately given amazing customer service. The Bagels are amazing and you can order from a very big selection of bagels. They offer an amazing menu that covers breakfast and lunch. I love the bagel with fresh Salmon and fresh onion on top. They offer great coffee and a wide selection of pastries . You can also buy various spreads for your bagels. I love the honey walnut spread. It should be noted I have traveled all over the world and the United States. The Island Bagel Company ranks high on my list of places to enjoy Bagels. This establishment rates five stars and more. In closing I certainly will be returning in the near future. Great customer service , very clean and plenty of tables to sit at. I have been thinking about checking this place out for awhile now. I came last week and have been back twice since then. They have great lunch options and breakfast options...mostly sandwiches that can be on a bagel, croissant, or regular bread. They have many bagel options to choose from and their menu is versatile. You will definitely find something you love. I haven't tried the coffee here yet but it always smells delicious in here. I will be sure to try it out next time. Don't come here if you're in a rush because there are usually a few people in line. You can dine in or carry out. You have to order in line, seat yourself, and pick up your order when they call your number...So you won't have a waitress. This is the cutest bagel shop! They make everything fresh everyday, so come early for the best selection. They close at 2 so that's another great reason to come early. The bagels are so great. They are $1.10 a piece or $1 if you get 6 or more. They sell day old bagels for .50 cents a piece in a bag of 6 I think. My daughter and I came in for lunch on the way to Hilton Head for a day of thrift store shopping. Sydney has been here before and told me about it. She loved the place and said we had to check it out. She was right. It is great. There is a small outside sitting area that would be great for when the weather is bad or if you brought your dog. We both ordered the Mega Veggie on a bagel instead of the hoagie roll it comes on. I got the sun-dried tomato and she got the garlic. It comes with veggie cream cheese, avocado, black olives, cheese, lettuce, green peppers, banana peppers and sprouts. (You just never see sprouts anymore) It was amazing!
