What a complete waste of $39! This was, without question, one of the worst pizzas I've ever paid for. For that price, I expected a quality pizza--not one with barely any cheese and cold meat toppings that looked like they were thrown on at the last minute instead of baked into the pizza. The entire pizza was bland, poorly made, and tasted like no effort or pride went into it. As a native New Yorker, I know what good pizza tastes like, and this isn't even close to New York-style pizza despite what it may claim. If this is their standard, they're charging premium prices for subpar food. The BOWLING alley down the street serves much better pizza with a much more responsible price. I tried the mozzarella sticks fresh out of the fryer, but they were a bit of a letdown. They looked homemade, but not in the best way--more like someone tried but didn't quite get there. They weren't stretchy at all, which kind of defeats the whole point of mozzarella sticks, though the flavor wasn't terrible. A little "yummy" in taste, but poorly done overall. 11-22-24 Friday night 7:30 pm Was in the area and I had this bookmarked to come here. Hubby goes what's their Yelp rating? I say but neighbors say it is good. The service and atmosphere were outstanding I would give them a five star rating. We were acknowledged the second we walked through the door to have seat we wanted. Our server immediately asked us what we wanted to drink. She was so fast I had to get my bearings quickly to see what they offered and decided on a Michelob Ultra hubby got a Budweiser both in bottles. We got a Zucchini Sticks as an appetizer. The zucchini itself was very large and fresh. With dipping sauce on the side. Also a large veggie pizza with sausage added. The pizza was ok. The only thing it is not NY pizza. The staff was friendly. The basic pizza was thin and tasty, like NY style. But, we ordered pizza with peppers and onions. They were put on raw, and the pizza then heated in the oven, so they were still raw. We asked the waitress, she admitted it wasn't the right way to do it but that they were planning on changing that soon. They also charged us for the p & o's, even though they saw we didn't eat them. Not good for business. I ordered Italian wedding soup. Broth with chicken & veggies was great, but instead of mini meatballs, like it said on the menu, and like it's supposed to be, it was chunks of sausage. They are going to have a lot of trouble with return business. All I can say is whatever you are selling, do it right! read more

Had friends in town and wanted to have a great pizza during football games. I ordered online - which looked like it was how their business executes delivery orders themselves. You are actually ordering from Doordash. One 16" 2 topping bacon & onion pizza with a 2 litre drink was over $50 with tip. $7+ delivery fee then they do their tip percentage after adding the $7. Pizza showed up before the 45 minute delivery window but was not even luke warm. Honestly looked like it was leftover from night before. After warming the pizza it was still so bland. read more

I'm standing at the end of the bar, waiting for my food to be prepared. I noticed that the cooks do not wear gloves when handling the food. The cook got offended and had an attitude because I said something to him about it......I'm like, really? but you are handling my food? restaurant looks nice, but the food lacks flavor. My chicken parm was missing an ingredient, i don't know what it was. It was very bland. Same can be said about the pizza and meatballs. Also, I ordered on Grubhub, but when I went to the restaurant, but manager said there was no order from me. Then he told me that "they cancelled Grubhub but grubhub doesn't want to cancel them". This is absurd. It's your restaurant, you know it's on grubhub and that people are ordering food and not getting them. Isn't this a problem you should fix? We ordered a simple order or 3 pizzas and breadsticks and were told it would be ready in 35 minutes. I arrived 35 minutes later, and two of the pizzas were done, the other they told me would be done in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later, they said it will be done any minute. 30 minutes later, I said just give it to me in whatever state it's in. It was in their warming oven, the rude staff didn't even bother to look. Of the original 2 pies, both were cold, and one was over cooked. The third was fresh, and decent, but not worth returning for. Not too bad. Got delivery after a day at the beach and was happy with the ease of ordering and quickness of delivery. Pizza arrived more warm than hot but was ok. Got a margarita pizza for my wife and I and a plain cheese pizza for the kids. The cheese pizza was good--nothing unique about it, but was tasty and in the NY style as promised. Margarita pizza was just ok...very skimpy on the toppings and the sauce was average at best, but again...tasty and not bad. I can't say it was good but I can say it wasn't bad. NYC Pizza, Towne Drive location. Since moving to SC four years ago, this is the closest we have come to the pizza we enjoyed back in NY. Even better than some places there. We ordered a large pie half meatball and half eggplant. We were a bit disappointed with the skimpy portions of meatball, but more so with the small strips of eggplant. So small, you could barely taste it. We could reason that the ingredients cost a lot more for restaurants these days, and they have to make up for it. But this is not the way to keep loyal customers. I can't speak for all locations- but the Belfair location in Bluffton SC SUCKS. If you call to place a delivery order, they will put you on hold every time you call and tell you they are no longer delivering. Secondly- if they do take your call- you'll be put on hold three times during the call- and the store manager won't let you get two words in when you raise an issue about how many times you've been put on hold. I called the Buckwalter Bluffton location to order afterward. They took my order, processed my payment, then they called the Belfair location - the one I had an issue with, to get them to make and deliver my pizza!! REALLY??!! The driver arrived, came beating on my door after I asked for no contact delivery. She wasn't wearing a mask either. Her demeanor Was very confrontational, I asked her through the door to leave the pizza on my patio table. I walked out to get it, and to give her the cash tip I forgot to leave outside on the table- and she was FLIPPING ME OFF WITH HER MIDDLE FINGER FROM HER CAR IN FRONT OF MY DOORWAY, SCREAMING TO THE TOP OF HER LUNGS "DONT COME BACK, DONT CALL BACK !! Needless to say - she didn't get the tip! MY UPSTAIRS NEIGHBOR GOT THE WHOLE SCENE SHE WAS MAKING RECORDED AND ON VIDEO. I opened the pizza box- and there was slimy saliva all over my pizza where someone SPIT ALL OVER MY PIZZA The manager at Bluffton Belfair- Dina, kept cutting me off, would not let me get a word in to resolve the issue. It was bizarre. They were all a bunch of whiny baby whackadoodles. I was just trying to place a damn pizza order for God's sake'! They don't understand customer service. You will certainly get CUSTOMER NO SERVICE and a spit covered pizza if you object to being put on hold 20 times when you're trying to order a pizza. I paid 65.00 for a spit covered pizza and wings. I have never been so shocked by a restaurant in my entire life. I walk in and it seems fine at first. My family is seated at a table and we get TOSSED torn up menus. I randomly got tossed a beer menu which was baffling to me. Then the server asks what we want for drinks. She comes out with the straws open and hands us our drinks. The side of my glass had a massive lipstick stain on it. Which is just plain disgusting. Then we got plates for our appetizers and my mom got a dirty plate. Later on after ordering I realize there is a pregnant lady who is working there that had a skimpy white tank top on. I could see her belly button and nipples and it made everyone incredibly uncomfortabl. You would think that there would be some type of dress code?? Then the food comes and it's fine nothing fancy. But I then smell a very strong smell of smoke. I look out the window and see a man smoking a massive cigarette. Which caused my asthma coughing to kick in. Then he took the rest of the cigarette, walked into the store. Threw it away in the open trash, whipped his hands on his pants and went and just started making pizza?! I was wildly concerned because he hadn't washed his hands and he just started making people food! That night I had terrible stomach pains and the next day I had food poisoning. Shocker as to why??? So save yourself food poisoning and a very strange experience and DO NOT GO. New York City Pizza participates in our community's 'Hungry Hearts' program which supports all of the local Food & Beverage employees and provides free meals to those who have lost their jobs to COVID-19. It was difficult for me to swallow my pride and accept the charity, but I couldn't be more grateful. The meal I had today was better than I had hoped for. I expected maybe a couple slices of pizza, but instead we were given multiple options to choose from. I got the philly cheesesteak, and it was perfect! Fresh baked bread and all. Delicious!
