Saw this restaurant while at a stop light, wondering where to go. My other half HATES avocados but was down to try it, IF there was something without avocados. We went in around 1pm on a Saturday. We had the place to ourselves + our baby! Theresa was so welcoming even with our son was talking to himself and loving the echo in there! I got a half order of the seared ahi on zucchini zoodles + half an avocado stuffed with shrimp salad! It was SO good and filling! My boyfriend got chicken salad sandwich + lentil soup and said it was all phenomenal! We will definitely be back!

A great healthy option in Bluffton & Hilton Head!- a perfect place to eat in with sandwiches smoothies, and salads and stuffed avocados.

Alvin Ord's of Bluffton is my favorite sandwich shop of all time, period. The sandwiches are…read moreconsistently, insanely good. The bread they use is similar to an airy pizza crust, and topped with their three blends of cheese that are melted onto the bread before the meats and toppings are added. I've had almost the entire menu over the years, but my favorite is the simple sliced turkey, with lettuce, tomato (which I opt out of sometimes just because I'm not a huge tomato on a sandwich guy, unless it's an actual tomato sandwich...), onion, and then I ask to add their garlic mayo and banana peppers, and sometimes jalapeños. Their turkey club is a second favorite if I'm craving bacon on my sandwich (they also have a jalapeño bacon!). Their other deli sandwiches are great, like the original with a mix of luncheon and other deli meats. I love their lesser known meatball sandwich and cheeseburger. My wife's favorite is the pastrami. The staff at Alvin Ord's are some of the nicest folks I've met in the restaurant industry, and they're always super helpful to new and old customers alike. The vibe of the shop is like a little beachside surf shop, super casual and comfy, with indoor seating at mismatched tables, along with two screened in porches--one that's dog friendly. I can't recommend this place enough. I'd eat here every other day if I could--and that's only because I usually turn my regular sized sandwich into two days of lunch.

They use a cheese blend round bun. It really isn't a turkey club. It's more of a turkey sandwich with the fixings of a club. What I did not like at all was the bread. It totally killed the sandwich for me. It left a bad after taste. I can't really explain it. It just wasn't good. The turkey was ok. For the price of the sandwich though, I would have expected more turkey on it. There is a much better option across the street. Try Downtown Deli. It is superior to this establishment. Again, just my opinion. Try it for your self.

This is the first time visiting the Santa Fe Cafe Bluffton location which I believe recently…read moreopened. It's in the location previously occupied by Mamma G's which closed over a year ago. The bar area remains the same, but the decor changed to a Southwestern vibe to match their cuisine. There were 4 of us dining and we were seated at a booth soon after checking in. It's best to get reservations otherwise you may end up at the bar or at a high top. As opposed to the HHI location, this one does not have a rooftop area for dining. Halah was our server and did an excellent job taking care of us. She was very courteous and knowledgeable of the menu. We started with chips, queso and salsa when we were seated. The queso was delicous with a slight hint of heat. I ordered the oysters on the appetizer list. The presentation was great. Served with a modified tartar sauce as well as a southwestern cocktail sauce. The oysters were too breaded, though. I think it was mostly breading and a small amount of oysters which were hardly noticeable. I don't recommend unless you like heavily breaded and fried oysters. For the main meal, i ordered the Portabello Burrito which was drizzled with a sweet and spicy salsa. It looked like a miniature football when it arrived. It was too much for one sitting, though and I took half home with me. Halah advised that it would be a bit spicy which it was. Besides portabello mushrooms chopped inside, there was also Spanish rice and melted cheese. Very tasty. For dessert, my wife and I split the Kahlua Mouse ($10.00). It was very good, but we probably shouldn't have had it. On the reservation, I mentioned it was a special day since 3 of us were celebrating birthdays and one was a milestone. Yet no one from the staff acknowledged during our visit. They did acknowledge via a reservation reminder message sent directly to me. Those little subtle personal touches----plus fried oysters which actually have oysters inside would have earned an extra star. Maybe next time.
