Well- this has been an adventure! Staying nearby- I wasn't able to be here on Halloween- but my BF was and had a blast! Came on a Sunday and hung out with Zach- LUCKY US! Arrived Saturday (6/6) around 11:15 a.m. The bartender was wearing headphones and never greeted our group. Menus were dropped off, and we waited over 10 minutes without anyone checking back. He appeared more focused on setting up the bar than helping customers, despite the business already being open. Eventually, we got up and left because we were never given the opportunity to order. There was no music playing, the TVs were off, and the atmosphere felt completely unwelcoming. Easily one of the worst service experiences I've had. We will not be returning. read more

Unexpected gem!! Traveling for work a friend from Lincoln met me and here for a quick catch up. It was music bingo night! It's wasn't a full house but we did notice that there was a constant rotation of people. Staff was one bartender, who was also the server at the tables and one cook. Despite lacking enough staff the service was good and the food didn't take too long to come out. The bingo was okay- he was fun...that's a different post. Little disappointed when the funnel cake fries were "out" and she said they had be previously as well. I did find the boneless wings in bbq sauce to be salty and the fries could have been more crisp but again, I was catching up with a friend so all in all it was nice. Cashing out was more difficult, when bingo was over everyone left and the service fell off a bit. We weren't provided separate checks so that took more time. read more

Staff is not friendly. We just went to have an early dinner at Island Bar and Grill. Online it stated it opened at 11AM, we walked in at 2:56 and was greeted by an unfriendly server putting chairs down. She said weren't open yet and asked we go back outside until 3PM. I stated that online said they opened at 11 and may want to get that changed. She said she knew that! We love the owners of Island Bar and Grill and listen to our favorite band there when they play. But we will never step foot into that establishment as so long as she works there. If you see a young blonde there as a server, turn around and find a place you are wanted as a paying customer. read more

Stopped for a lunch after being at Costco just across the road. It was off hours for them and was only 1 of 2 tables occupied. The order was simple a hamburger and fries. I was looking for an OK lunch. Would certainly return to this place. Being almost only one there service was good. Food was also. I won't say it was spectacular, but what I wanted at the time. My Hawaiian longboard with teriyaki sauce, spam fried rice, and coleslaw was very good. My son loved his chicken, bacon ranch wrap. We stopped by here on a whim yesterday, and were the only ones in the restaurant right when they opened. Our server was very friendly and took care of us quickly. I was upset that they ran out of beef used for Philly cheesesteaks, but they were very apologetic about it. I ended up ordering what my wife did which was the Hawaiian longboard, but I opted for the Korean barbecue sauce. Went here for dueling pianos last night. The service was not good at all. They had one person in the kitchen, one person behind the bar and 4 other servers/bartenders/staff. They were so disorganized it was comical. No one was assigned a section, bar tender wasn't able to keep up or stay organized. We ordered food and it took an hour, we ordered drinks and they took a long time even though we were at the bar. Biggest disappointment was the lack it customer service and that the staff member made eye contact with us until we paid at the end. Then they were full of apologies. Overall the drinks and food were good they just need some organizing and a plan for busy nights. read more

I believe they have live music every Friday night so my spouse and I came here to see the talented Bobby Figueroa perform his solo set (back in the day, his band was Centerline). It was an enjoyable experience. The place was spacious with lots of seating either at the bar or at tables. Since it was just before the holiday, it was decorated in a Christmas/Winter theme but still felt "warm" with all the island and tropical decor. There was also a live feed of Hawaii and other tropical beaches projected onto the wall that was rather fun to watch. I don't drink (alcohol) so I can't comment on any of the cocktail beverages but we did share an appetizer of "Island Nachos" which were really just regular nachos. I wish we had opted for something like the crab rangoon or crab hush puppies instead. I would come here again, especially if they have Bobby performing again. They also have music bingo on Wednesday nights and Karaoke on Saturdays. read more

This was our second trip to this bar. It will be the last. It is a very small dive bar. There isn't really anything to draw you there except it is the closest bar to the convention center. Some of my favorite bars are dive bars. This one, not so much. We had three appetizer type items. We hadn't had enough drinks as it would take to find them anything appealing. The bartender was nice. Very much enjoyed the Island Bar! This bar has been around for a little bit and is under new management as of like a month ago. Both new owners were there and took time to talk to with me which was great. I had a burger and tots that were as good or better than you'll find anywhere else. I was also told the menu is evolving to have more island / Hawaiian items. I vote for coconut shrimp. This tiki bar setup is complete with full wall live feed projections of Maui, Florida, the Bahamas, really anywhere on a beach that is sunny right now. That's a cool touch. Service was attentive and like I mentioned, i spent time talking with both new owners. Good spot worth a visit and looking forward to what the new owners do with the place. read more

This could probably be a great little restaurant, it's in a decent location and the ambience is really nice. The only problem is, they don't have a clue how to service customers! I hadn't been there in a few years, but I figured I'll go in and get it to go order and while I'm waiting. I'll have a beer. I sat at the bar and ordered a beer and asked for a menu. The menu is pretty sparse. The basics, burgers, wings, etc. certainly nothing special. I presume it was one of the owners that got my beer, and after about five minutes, a bartender/waitress came in. All the time I'm sitting there, a menu in front of me, nobody asks If I would like to order! I finish my beer, paid my bill, and left without placing an order because nobody could be bothered to ask if I wanted to order anything! There was only two or three people in there, so it's not like they were busy. From what I understand, they're under new ownership. If they keep treating their customers like this, they'll be under new ownership again shortly. read more

Do we really need another bar? The bar itself isn't anything special in a land full of bars, sports, bars, tiki bars, dive bars, high end bars and much more. The place comes off more like a hobby, i.e "I like to drink, so I'm going to get a government small business loan and open up a bar." Just because you like stamp collecting, doesn't mean you should open up a post office. Has the potential to be chill given the vibe and some of the decor is cool but there is a general unfriendliness from someone who seemed to have been the owner himself. My advice, use Yelp to compare this place and other area watering holes in the proximity and use your best judgement. read more

Amazingly clean, almost unbelievable, with an island coconut lime scent that goes off periodically... in a bar I had the Macho Nachos and the Original Burger add cheese (don't judge ) both were perfectly done. The burger is hand pattied which is key for me and should be in Omahas Bracket for best burger! Juicy, flavorful, seasoned but not overly so. The Nachos had everything nachos need to be considered macho and the chips weren't stale and probably fried in house. The ingredients are fresh! The service so friendly and engaging. And they have fun events like poker on Saturday nights. This is a win! read more

Don't ever spend your money at this business. They only have one waitress her name is Janelle. She is a awful waitress. Her customer service skills are awful. Once you enter this business and seat yourself she will take at least 20 minutes before she greet you and screws up your order. She will then never come back to check on you or if you need anything else. And if you don't tip her for her bad service. She will make a scene in the bar telling you the customer. That she will not serve you if you come back to there business. Also the owner Justin Clark who is dating Janelle. Will tell you the customer that if you don't tip in his business. Then he does not want you as a customer. Moral of this review. If you enjoy being forced to tip for bad service. This bar is for you. read more

Tried to give this place a chance...twice. On our first visit, the cook didn't come to work (not sure why). No worries, we had a pizza delivered, ordered a few beers and settled in for a night of karaoke. Perhaps not having food available threw the bartenders off that night, since they were often missing from the bar, opting instead for extended smoke breaks in the covered smoking area. We didn't stay for karaoke, opting instead to move our celebration to another establishment. Assumed our last visit was the exception rather than the rule, so gave it another try a month later. We managed to stay through a few karaoke songs, but the service (or lack thereof) was an issue. So, after a couple of beers and enthusiastic clapping for the karaoke singers, we left. I'm not sure if we'll give it a third try some time in the future...but for now, it's not on the repeat list. Island theme is sparse. Cocktail/beer options are OK. This is an average dive bar/restaurant experience. Beware, however, as they do not honor the happy hour prices they have on their menu and do not tell you that. I ordered a margarita with Patron and it was very light on the Patron. My husband had a cheeseburger, which was good, and I had the chicken quesadillas which were fine but no pico de gallo, lettuce/tomato, very plain. Wait people were nice until I asked why they didn't honor the half price for happy hour. I suggested to the manager that they should not have menus that say 1/2 price apps on happy hour if they don't intend to honor it. We absolutely, did not get what we paid for! read more
