I loved the boba and the shaved ice but I love this place and great service but I found something in my ice but not a big deal cause this shop deserves a 11/10 but it kinda takes long

Taro milk tea boba

We purchased a taro milk tea that did NOT taste or look like what we have purchased in the past. We were so looking forward to enjoying our tea but left feeling Very disappointed and upset. Having to throw out the drink after two sips. In the photo you can see the specks of purple it should have been, compared to the chocolate brown look it actually was.

Really good Thai tea, they have a wide selection of sushi rolls I have yet to try. Service was quick.

Dust buildup on top.. gross

They don't do poke and out of a lot of roll options. Not sure why this place is popular with lots of reviews. Perhaps, they are known for their drinks?! Slightly busy with one employee and a whole lot of dust on the fan. They need to hire another employee as I waited over 10 mins and there were 5 people still waiting to order and get their food/drink while more people were walking in. Sorry, I'm not a fan and I feel horrid for the employee.

BEST STAFF EVER, felt like family! Thai tea boba 10/10! My friend got the phili roll & absolutely loved it.

One of our go-to flavors is green tea with passion fruit and this place includes the seeds which I'm not a fan of. Chia seeds or basil seeds are great but the big crunchy passion fruit seeds not so much... however this was my first time trying butterfly pea tea in one and it was good in my rose tea. My favorite was definitely their pomegranate tea though.

Drink tasted amazing and I had a wonderful conversation with the owner! I'm definitely gonna check out his 2nd location

Cucumber roll needed to be rolled tighter.

Located in the Indio neighborhood this is a great place to grab sushi to go. We ordered cucumber roll, dragon, and California roll. The menu is posted on the wall- there are no descriptions of the rolls, but the staff knew all the ingredients when asked about the rolls. The selections of boba tea will make it hard to choose! Sushi is on par with the price, the cucumber rolls were not rolled as tight, so it resulted them coming apart when we opened the package up. The California roll needed more avocado.

The staff was super sweet and accommodating. Had some boba and it was delicious. The boba texture was perfect and the size was nice. Doing well with covid regulations as well. Support local business!

Hibiscus Tea

I really liked the Hibiscus tea!! I added chia seeds and aloe vera in addition to the boba pearls and it was SO good. Super refreshing on a hot summer day. I was sipping away before I remembered to take a picture! My mom got the Matcha Latte and she really liked it as well. Would stop by again just for that tea.

Three great flavors! Tati, pineapple, pomegranate!

So many tasty flavors to try! We stopped in on a late afternoon in February and had the whole place to ourselves. I am sure in the heat this place is crazy busy. The taro flavor is authentic, best we ever had. Very creative menu and great prices.

Two new yummy options!!!!

Update Update: I just love the Double Espresso Frapp with Boba! YUM! Tonight I tried their Fresh Coconut...Wow! What a treat! Get fresh coconut water straight from the coconut & also the coconut flesh...I was advised to put Chamoy & Lime Tajin Pepper Salt Mixture on top! Blew my socks off! YUM! I'm totally gonna try the Mangoneada Slushie next time since it has Mango & Chamoy Sauce in it... Mmmm --- Got a Raspberry Green Tea with Green Apple Jellies... Yummy, light & refreshing. I initially wanted the Jasmine Green Tea & they said they were the out...Sad Face... On my 3rd visit, they had Jasmine Green Tea...YummO They don't have a Punch Card system yet. Please get one soon :-) ***Owner said she's working on this. Yay! They do have an assortment of food like cakes, pastries, brownies (just in time for Coachella...um, ok, not THOSE type of brownies...hahaha), sushi, & fresh fruit... Yummy! There were 3 people behind the counter...they all seemed nice. It was a little warm & humid in the shop. :-( It could be cooler inside... UPDATE: Their a/c was having issues & now it's fixed! Nice & Cool! No more humidity inside! Yay! Theres only one bathroom all the way at the back left of the store. There are a few tables (1 in front, 2 in back) & a bar to sit up at. **Note to management (hehe): you could probably fit another little table in the front part of your shop...Maybe when you get busier... ***UPDATE: Wow! IB&T is on it! There are now an ample number of tables! Great job! Management rocks! :-) My consensus: I'll be back... Maybe next time I'll get all fancy with my order & see if they can produce. ;) My Updated Consensus: "Hi! MY Name Is Layla & I'm a Boba & Tea Addict!" Hahaha... Update: Went the other day & wanted a Non-Dairy Thai Tea with Boba... They figured it out by taking some Coconut Powder wicked with a little water & Also some Coconut Milk (In essence they made the equivalent of nondairy Half & Half)... It tasted great! Still kept the sweetness without sacrificing the richness of cream. Great Job! Yummy Food, Drinks, Treats & Awesome Customer Service! Now this place has consistently proven to be a 5 Star after working out a few details at opening!x

What to order, what to order? Unfortunately, "everything" isn't an option. LOL!

Usually they should bring the appetizers, rolls and then entree... they brought them out in whatever order. One appetizer arrived followed by an entree, 2 rolls and then the soup and salad that was included with the entree. The edamame arrived almost to the end of the meal and I honestly should have sent it back bc who eats that at the end of a meal? Nothing against the chefs but it shows inexperienced wait staff. The food though was amazing! The rolls are HUGE! We ordered way too much so we took almost 2 rolls home! The tuna tower was amazing but I wish it came with some wonton strips or something to add crunch/texture. They use a green and red crispy crunch on their rolls which was sooo good! Overall the amazing food makes up for the average service.

Overall not a bad experience. Just some nuances that need to be worked on. Service was quite slow…read morefor a place that wasn't that busy. We got our drinks and took a while to put the order in. Once we got food there was no check ins to see if everything was ok if if more drinks were needed. We had to flag down a person that was not our server. While the presentations of our dishes were fun the flavor was just lacking in the fish. The music was a bit loud and playing 80's pop like Madonna and Michael Jackson. Little odd for a sushi restaurant. Side note there tempura rolls we saw that were coming out looked fun. The rolls were quite big for each of their cuts, makes it hard for a one piece bite. I'd say if you like big rolls for filling purposes give them a go. May try again if we are back in La Quinta for the previous reviews on the place. Maybe we're were of a night (Friday night BTW).

An average sushi spot here in the desert. Honestly while it was okay overall, I don't think I'll be…read moreback. Would rather hold out for better sushi options than settle for someplace that's just average. For context solid sushi spots in the desert are hard to come by, understandably. La Quinta actually has two of my favorites BUT they are only open for dinner hours. So I've been on the search for solid sushi spots that have lunch hours. Being that Sam's Sushi was open for lunch and has moderate reviews, thought that they were worth a try. The ambiance of the spot is basic. There was a proper sushi bar which I could appreciate and the restaurant was spacious. My biggest issues were cleanliness and freshness. The tables weren't clean enough for my preference (soy sauce containers were sticky and the plate they sit on hadn't been cleaned for a while). Also I found the temperature inside to be a little too warm, which is always a red flag to me when dealing with seafood. The reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2 stars is the staff were friendly. Despite being busy they had me seated quickly and also food was at a good pace. One of my drinks was forgotten by the server but he was kind and apologized about it, so not a big deal. As again, they were busy. Overall the reason for the lower review is primarily for the food and quality. I ordered a $25 bento box (not quite trusting or committing to larger sushi rolls) and was still underwhelmed. The best part of my meal was the miso soup and California roll. The California roll was average but tasty. However, the other two box options were meh. The mixed tempura had hits and misses. Tempura shrimp was decent. However, the veggies were too thick - so the batter to veggie ratio was off. Still edible though. The bummer with the bento box was the sushi and salad. Salad had barely any dressing, and not the tasty ginger or sesame dressing that most have - the dressing was so minimal I couldn't even tell you what it was. Also the sushi just didn't taste fresh. The ebi was fine but usually I wouldn't choose this for sushi. The salmon was edible but not super fresh and the yellowtail was stringy and I couldn't eat it. For $25 the plate looked appealing but lacked good flavor/execution. Overall, the place was busy so I'm hopeful they have a good following with locals and I saw a lot of professionals here for a quick lunch break. I just think there are substantially better sushi spots in the desert...I'm spoiled and have lots of good sushi spots at home that this spot wouldn't be one I'd be eager to come to again soon.
