I came across this Long Island Gem not to long ago. I originally always lived in the city but ended up moving to along island and really needed to find something ASAP. So between a few great reviews about them from friends and colleagues of mine and with my own research on them; so found it to be a perfect match. I walked into the office Tuesday and I immediately can tell it's a place with a prestigious uphold. Very up to date interior design and clean cut atmosphere. Most importantly the amazing staff they have working. They are very professional and proficient and knowledgeable in what they do. Monica was the one who took care of my needs walking in for my first appointment. She is extremely kind and informative and prompt. You can for sure tell she knows what she is talking about! I seen her answer calls while helping both myself and another patient on the phone in a timely matter (which to me being in the health field multitasking is an absolute must). The dentist was amazing as well (not the kind that rushes you because they overbook ! but quite the opposite) he sat there and explained to me everything and made me feel less nervous. I mean who doesn't get nervous at the dentist! Lol . Overall my experience was probably the best I've ever had in a dental practice and I'm really happy I Listened to my friends and colleagues on this one! Before leaving I stopped at the front desk again to make my follow up appointment and surely Monica helped me with this as well and wished me a great upcoming weekend. Very rude front desk staff, office manager, Berta, is charged an excessive amount for a copy of my records. I would not recommend as the crowns were not made correctly and needed to be highly adjusted. Both crowns should have been a visual for the dentist to see they were not straight, uneven and sharp edges, when putting them in. Terrible experience. No well informed information before a testing procedures, they tell you a week later something wasn't covered and then charge a highly excessive fee for records which is not within the federal guidelines for electronic copies of records or images. read more

TLDR; they don't care about their patients, they just want the money. It was only after i accused them of fraud that they properly submitted a claim to my insurance. I've been going here for a while, and every experience I've had before has been great with Dr. Persaud. However, my first experience with Dr. Patel was not as great. I felt like the anesthesia he was injecting was not targeting the areas he needed and he caught a vein instead. I honestly felt my heart beating faster and i became cold. So he injected MORE but this time in the correct areas. I've never had this experience with any other dentist. Raquel was really nice though. Finally, the people at the front desk are extremely disorganized. They pulled me out of my chair to organize the payment while i was on anesthesia after telling me they have the wrong insurance! I've been coming for years, what happened? There is no communication amongst themselves or in their systems regarding payments and outstanding balances. What am I on a payment plan for? I am so mad I am expected to pay over $1000 for this experience. I also had an issue with my insurance, it took them MONTHS of me calling and asking them to properly submit x-rays to my insurance. They really don't care about their patients. They just want the money. Don't listen to the google reviews. They've taken my little brother's phone out of his hand to give themselves a good review. Waste of time. Went in for a "free consultation" for a dental implant and they wanted $250.00 for an x-ray. STAY AWAY!

As a patient of Island Dental, I had 2 extractions, a bone graft, and a sinus lift to prepare for 2 implants in 2021. Now one implant seems loose. An appointment was made -- after waiting 30 minutes for Dr. Persaud and Dr. Mittle -- I saw them for all of 1 minute to inform me they can surgically repair the implant. The Office Manager and Financial Coordinator-- Enza Taormina -- appeared with a itemized estimate for over $14,000 for the repair. The drs never returned to discuss the plan of repair. The original procedure cost $6,700. I walked out and will never return! Good luck to anyone who is considering them! It's a cash grab! read more

My Invisalign treatment started in March 2023 by Dr. Jordon. She left and my treatment has not been completed. We are in 2025. I paid for my treatment in full without any issues, but I am out of pocket for the entire amount I paid to Island Dental. Unfortunately, the new dentist refuses to take me on as a patient. She does not want to continue the job that Dr. Jordon did to my teeth. I have previously spoken with the office manager, Jakie, who assured me that everything would be fine, but now, in 2025, it is clear that everything is not fine. I still have not received the results I paid for, and I need to find a new dentist to continue my Invisalign treatment. I have spent a significant amount of money, and I feel frustrated that I am left without the care I expected. read more

Do not go here- I sent my 25-year-old daughter here to be seen. They said she had four cavities to fill and her out-of-pocket expense was $100- they took payment at the time of service. Fast- forward a few weeks later her mouth is still in pain so she goes to get checked only told she has a $900 bill for those same cavities. Her insurance covers cavities and work with a small deductible. Before she started getting seen by them in the beginning, they told us they were in network doctors with her insurance. We were then told after getting the bill that they are not in our network. Then they started backtracking saying they're in network and our insurance didn't cover it. They have shady billing practices and our insurance confirmed that they are not in our network yet they lied saying they were originally -do not go here. read more

The first one I removed after Jackie, office manager, promised my friend that Dr. Weinstein agreed to rectify the issue. The exact one the office staff belligerently refused to address. The one stipulation was that the review be removed. Begrudgingly, I removed it. Now, that's it!! I'm not taking this one down. My longtime friend went for a consultation in hopes to get her dental needs addressed. She clearly stated she was interested in seeking other options as well. Island Dental Associates did no work on her teeth. Yet, charged her $8,000.00. They refuse to return her money. My friend left their office yesterday upset and humiliated. This was my first visit to Island Dental Associates, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised by both the facility and by the service I received from everyone that I interacted with. I am extremely nervous about anything dental related; however Dr. Wang and definitely put forth a great effort to make me feel comfortable. I have a few more scheduled appointments coming up that I am still nervous about.....but that's just me! Always on time, clean, attentive office. Dr.Persaud is the best and has been repairing my tooth for years now

This place is a fraud I have been coming to this office for many years , it wasn't until last year that they started making me pay out of pocket and said it was because my insurance stopped covering my braces. A year later i find out my insurance never stopped covering it , it was the office that had stopped sending claims and stopped taking my insurance. Now when i contacted my insurance to file a claim against them the office manager BIANCA had lied to them saying they had previously informed me that they stopped accepting my insurance. When in reality the receptionist along with the very disrespectful and unprofessional DR.JORDAN have been telling me for the last year that i'm only paying out of pocket because my insurance stopped covering it. My last visit here was in april and even in this visit i was told by DR.JORDAN that my insurance stopped covering my procedure. I am now left with unfinished work due to the fact that I'm basically being scammed along with how overwhelmed DR.JORDAN made me feel at my last visit. From the second i walked into her office till the second i left she made me feel very uncomfortable, arguing with me the entire time even as she was in my mouth and i had no way of trying to defend myself or even respond. Giving a two star rating because of Jackie (the office manager) and the hygienist because she was very gentle with me! Other than that, I really struggled with this office! Right off the bat when I called to make an emergency apt I was told that they are in network with my insurance only to arrive to find out that they're not! Was told my out of network benefits were 50% and max $1000 a year! receive antibiotics, went in the following week for a cleaning, X-rays and an evaluation and paid out of pocket my share of the money! I was thrown a whole bunch of information and that I needed a whole lot of work done, and was given a quote of $31,000 and that all the work is expected to be finished within the month! I was even told that they wanted to start that day! Needless to say, I left with my head spinning and in tears at the price and their approach! I went for a second opinion the following day and was approached completely differently, with costs a lot less than what island dental quoted me and was told there was important to get it done but was willing to work with me and my insurance over a few months to get it done! read more

Don't go here! It's like going to an auto mechanic. You come in for a basic cleaning and they try to sell you on work that you have no need for. I have no pain, no cavities, no sensitivity, yet the dentist is trying to convince me I have dental issues. B.S.! Also a family member went in for a simple cleaning, but they said he needed major dental work that was out of network. The work needed seemed necessary, even though the family member had no pain or issue. The finance manager could not tell me what the break down was as far as getting reimbursed from the insurance company. They wanted thousands of dollar$ paid up front for any work done. She assured me I would get some portion of the fee back. Again - B.S! Zero from insurance. I was a fool for trusting them. She should be selling used cars. This joint is just a business. Money first! Came for a tooth extraction, first day told after waiting two hours they didn't have time, returned the following day for one of the most painful extraction which I cried through for an hour. Returned 4 days later apparently I got dry socket was again treated painfully and when I expressed my level of pain and abundance of ibuprofen I've had to take was responded to with "it's going to get worse try more Tylenol with the ibuprofen?! Really? And all this for a couple hundred dollars! Don't waste your time or teeth, the receptionist is nice. But this place is worse then the dental clinic at the emergency room read more

An update from November 2020, when I was rushed by ambulance on a stretcher to an ER due to dental procedures gone horribly wrong at this dental office. I lodged a formal complaint with the State of New York Education Department, Office of Professional Discipline which has been taking an extraordinarily long time in attending to this prosecution. The Covid pandemic didn't help. However, I have been contacted by the prosecutor Jason Szober after writing to his supervisor, the message, in part, is as follows: "I was given a message that you had reached out for an update. An informal conference took place and Dr. Weinstein and his attorney rejected the settlement offer...The case must now go to a hearing...I will reach out to you when the hearing is scheduled as I may need you to testify." END OF MESSAGE FROM PROSECUTOR. To this day, I have feared ever going to a dentist and haven't any teeth on the top portion of my mouth, choking at times due to my inability to chew food properly. Any possible settlement that may be reached will not provide me personally with any financial compensation, it would, as I understand it, simply be a fine given to the state alone. I hadn't sought any legal redress as of this date. Be cautious! read more

Their ads are completely misleading and they will pile on charges like someone at an all you can eat buffet. The wait time to see a dentist is only surpassed by the amount of time it takes to get work done. When I asked for an itemized account of the hefty charges quoted to me, I was told that they don't like to do that because customers find it too confusing. I have since gotten dental implants and I am very happy with them. So glad I had the good sense to go to another dental firm but Island Dental got into my pocket before I made my escape. read more

My five star rating goes to Dani - my hygienist. Caring, professional. and very good at what she does. The office worked around my schedule and even though it was busy, they got me in when I needed - plus I was stuck in traffic and I arrived late. Dani was there to walk me right in and get us started. I could remove one star due to difficulty parking but that office has a lot of construction going on. Dani is a professional gem in that office and the reason I am posting this review. This place is all about money. At minimum you owe it to yourself to get a second opinion after seeing the staff here. I was seen after my crown fell out. I have great dental coverage. After seeing the doctor he suggested to extract the tooth and then have an implant placed instead of what I came in for - a new crown. He said if I wanted a crown it would take six weeks due to prior authorization from the insurance. However, if I wanted an implant he could do it as soon as possible. I did not feel that the staff prioritize the needs of the patients, but rather I felt they care much more about maximizing the cost of the visit. The manager on site was also rude and said "yes you have insurance but we're not going to take a gamble that they pay". But, there's no gamble for the implant. They even push 0% financing. I left without a crown and even left without a temporary crown. Due to "the 6 week wait for authorization". Get a second opinion if you choose this place. read more

What can I say but THANK YOU!!!!!! Lost my dental appliance - called a flipper - my dentist could not gt one created until dec. 31 !!!!! Caled Island Dental after calling other dental offices - they said of course we can help - come in on Friday - 12/18 - Dr Gupta and the staff made me feel comfortable. I was examined and they told me i'd have a new piece SATURDAY 12/19 yesterday !!!!! I was fitted and left feeling like a person again.... Can not thank them enough. I was very satisfied with my dentist, Dr. Gupta (and his assistant) and the hygenist. The biggest issue early on was scheduling and I believe that is due to a relatively inexperienced front desk staff. Also, they are not savvy to proper medical office protocol. It was only once I got Dr. Gupta and the office manager involved with my scheduling concerns did things get resolve quickly to my satisfaction. After a long talk with the manager, I am convinced that one will see positive changes in how the staff interacts with patients in the near future. In the meantime, I strongly recommend that if you have any problems with the front desk speak to your dentist or the manager immediately. read more

Meera, my dental hygienist, is so efficient and thorough. I always feel like my teeth are super clean when leaving. The dentists are also awesome and take care of any problem I've ever had.
