According to current Maricopa County regulations, face coverings are generally required in public establishments where social distancing isn't possible. Island Cleaners doesn't know and doesn't care. As of my most recent -- and last -- visit, none of their employees wore face masks, even in settings where direct interaction with the public is required. When I asked the store cashier about it, he didn't seem to be aware of their value. Although their dry cleaning services are stellar, their total lack of concern for the health of their customers is troubling. If you don't believe in face coverings, fine. But if you want to protect yourself from a contagious -- and possibly deadly -- disease in a state where the coronavirus pandemic has raged out of control, stay away from this place. read more

First off. I read the yelp reviews when I was looking for a place and I have to say they have good reviews but they don't do this place justice. The owner has a system setup so if they are busy and can't answer the call an automated text is sent to you. I thought it was just spam but nope the system linked me directly to the owner! I had a really bad mold spots on a few different blankets. Not only did they clean it but they got all but literally a little speck out! The guy at the desk was named Todd really nice and friendly guy and more importantly they really care about their work. The cost was really low to reasonable as well! They did such a great job that they made me a life time customer seriously. Check this place out and give them your business. The first time I dropped off the blankets there was a small spot that was missed on 2 of the 3. I offered to pay more for cleaning them again and they insisted on redoing it for free! The pants that didn't fit my waist, they adjusted more than just the waist because it's hugging my body so well. They went above & beyond in my eyes. So far, I've loved Island Cleaners! They have done a good job on all my clothes and offer an affordable price. I have used this place for suits, work uniforms, and general formal and business type clothing. I was really impressed how they remembered my name after my first time walking in. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The turnaround time is typically one day for general dry cleaning. If you have alterations it can take more than one day because they send them out to another place. I would highly recommend them and if I change my mind on that I will be sure to update this. Gentleman (owner?) said he'd be happy to try but couldn't guarantee, and since they were such old stains, they were probably set. I decided against it and on the way out he gave me a couple suggestions if I wanted to try to wash and (air!) dry it myself. I really appreciated that. I arrived to pick up my items 2 hours early (not a day early). I went back after the scheduled pick up time and was told to come back the next day. After I posted a negative review, the owner called me and rushed my items to the store. They arrived barely less than 20 minutes before close so I could not make the 20 mile trip back in time. The owner offered me store credit in exchange for making my review positive. I agreed. When I went back the next day, she told me my review wasn't positive enough and told me to change it again. I'm very frustrated with this place right now. I took my bridesmaid dress in two weeks ago on a Friday to have alterations done. I was told by Jen it would be ready Thursday. I was told no need to try it on as they never have issue with alterations. My husband picked it up Thursday. I called the next day to inform Jen it didn't fit properly they forgot to take up the straps. She apologize and said to bring it back in and they will fix it. Couldn't get back until Saturday. I was told it would be ready on Wed, the day before we leave for the wedding. I said well I need to have it pressed because I won't have time to take it to the other place that was giving me a military discount. Jen explained $8 was a discount they normally charge 13 her boss would kill to charge less. This was their mistake, not mine, it should have been free. Nevertheless, dress is was still not ready when I went to pick it up! The owner is amazing and made the situation right. She went out of her way and called me twice early this morning as I missed the calls. She was there when I picked up my dress to ensure it fit. The dress looked amazing, the alterations were perfect and I didn't have to pay for pressing! Very happy overall. read more
