Oh my goodness goodness gracious! This place is truly a quilter's paradise. I had never even heard…read moreof it before, but was passing through Snohomish recently and, of course, my car swerved into their parking lot as soon as I passed by. Downstairs, the place is about half fabric and half classrooms of various sizes. The fabric area is mainly quilting cottons, with a decent selection of patterns, and a recently-updated yarn area for the knitting and crochet crowd. They carry most of the main fabric designers for quilting, as well as batiks, holiday prints, and tons of solids and mixers. Accessories include any ruler, tool, or notion you could possibly need for quilting; plus they have sewing-inspired gifts, too. Upstairs, there are more classrooms (including a pay by the hour longarm rental room) and a large Bernina showroom. This area also has more patterns, as well as bagmaking supplies. The supply selection here is pretty good - lots of zippers, d-rings, etc. However, as with most things bagmaking, there just didn't seem to be enough stuff to satisfy my cravings for things like printed vinyl, waterproof canvas, rainbow zippers, etc. The sad truth for bagmakers is that it's hard to find a local option to shop these things; I end up buying most of my supplies online or at the Sew Expo. That being said, if you're a beginning bagmaker I'm sure you would find their supplies more than adequate. The staff I encountered were friendly and helpful, too - I was a little nervous about this after reading previous reviews, but I had no issues with service. I ended up buying a quilt pattern book and a really cool fabric-focused wall calendar that I can't wait to start using in January. I'll definitely be coming back here, and I hope to take a class or two in 2025.

Even though I am a novice I was willing to spend more to get a good machine that would last. When I asked the woman (who I later learned is the owner) about any classes she offered for the machine SHE ROLLED HER EYES and told me she didn't do anything like that. I asked whether she would offer any help if I had questions after I bought the machine and she said an emphatic NO. I hope she has a strong regular customer base because she sure as heck won't see me there again, EVER Am not surprised that the "owner" responded in the way she did. Now that I am taking sewing classes elsewhere I am hearing the same negatives that I related. The review isn't false and I resent the accusation. If she actually did look at the reviews I have posted she would see that more than half are VERY positive. But bad customer service is bad customer service. She made that clear by the tone of her response.

The class offered by Running Stitch Fabrics was taught by Malinda Shirley. Malinda is a great teacher with an infectious positive energy, a lot of patience and knowledge. She brought a lot of samples and projects she has made. It was exciting to see the possibilities of incorporating sashiko into tote bags, quilts, placemats, etc. The quilt shop carries a wide assortment of notions, sashiko supplies, fabric, patterns, books and more. There are quite a few quilt samples hanging on the walls and on display in the windows. There is a long arm machine that you can rent after taking a basic longarm class or they offer long arm services. The owner Alice and her staff are very nice. We had two Dania type recliners and ottomans that had served us well for close to 30 years. These…read morebeloved chairs were getting quite worn so we contacted South Upholstery after a search of companies with good reviews. We live in Seattle but visited their shop and picked the leather fabric that we liked. They picked up our chairs and ottomans as soon as the leather fabric arrived as promised. They finished them in a reasonable amount of time and returned them back to our condo. We are extremely happy with the job and now have our favorite chairs back in place and everyone who sees them agree they are absolutely beautiful. The process was flawless until the final payment. The day they were delivered we had to leave immediately to pick up a family member who was waiting at the airport. In the chaos the delivery people did not pick up the check and we forgot to remind them. We were halfway to the airport when we were called by Elvira. Elvira was very angry and would not let us mail the check. We offered to Zelle the balance but she said they did not have a Zelle account which is very easy to set up. We had to give them our credit card and then we were charged the 3% charge fee which was a substantial amount. We didn't feel it was handled in a fair way. Elvira was quite unreasonable as it was an unintentional mistake made by them as well as us. The exchange left us with a bad feeling even though everything else went perfectly.
