I order from Island Grill every week, great quality, big sizes and very delicious! The chicken enchiladas are perfect! The bourbon chicken on anything is outstanding! I'm a vegetarian, so I stick with tacos when ordering here. I always get black bean tacos (which contains the beans, lettuce, cheese and tomato cubes). Taste AMAZING. They make their own soft taco shell and it taste so good! I will say comparing to taco bell, the taco to me here taste better than a bean burrito there. Also, at taco bell anytime I ordered a bean burrito 7 out of 10 times they would accidentally mix meat in with it. Horrible! I've never had this problem at Island Grill! They are consistent and good. I'm sure these tacos are also slightly healthier than taco bell. The only thing I don't really like is parking and waiting for my order. they are fast to make it, but I'm a very lazy person who wants to just go to a drive thru, which they don't have. They do have a parking lot, but it's small and I have to do a lot of backing up to exit. Also, the staff are always friendly. read more

Fast Mexican take out. No frills. We always enjoy the bourbon chicken quesadillas and steak fajitas. Food always comes out fast. Cash only. Downside is I live a town over not even 5 minutes and they do not deliver there. If you want a normal sour cream/side for the amount of food, you're going to pay for it!!! read more

First let me say I know plenty of people who love this place but I am NOT one of them. I rarely give bad reviews. While the only plus would be that it's the only Mexican place that delivers in the area, you're better off going through the Taco Bell drive through. Their nachos are terrible, processed cheese sauce used instead of melted cheese. Their guacamole is the worst I've ever had. Quesadillas were just terrible as well. No frills, cheap Chinese-Mexican food place. I've tried this place a few times, and it's been nothing but disappointment. The tacos weren't appetizing with dark meat chicken. A shrimp dish was extremely greasy and made me feel ill afterwards. Nachos weren't as we ordered them, and we had to fight with them to get them set right. A family member likes their bourbon chicken quesadillas but generally won't order anything else from here. Service can be slow and less than stellar. Ultimately: 1) if you're looking for real Mexican food, avoid this place, 2) if you don't like the idea of Chinese-Mexican cuisine, avoid this place, and 3) if you have somewhere to be tonight and can't be in the bathroom for an extended period of time/caught up with indigestion, avoid this place. Cheap and plentiful Chinese made Mexican style takeout food. They make the tortillas fresh and you can watch them! its is not very authentic but it is very yummy and is perfect hangover food. Kicks taco bells butt, and the price not much different about 2 bucks a soft taco and 6 for a large combo. If you want to go upscale try Swell Taco in Babylon village which is more authentic California style food with great atmosphere, but if you want quick, inexpensive and satisfying takeout give Island grill a chance. read more

Received my order for delivery and ckn wings had all bottom halves (flats) of the wings (not one drum stick piece; and one time they sent third piece, don't know what its called but the piece below the flat, didn't care it was only one so I let it go). I called and spoke to a young man there and he stated no problem he would take care of me next time and I even reminded him of my address. A few weeks later I called and spoke with someone I had never heard the voice before and told him what happened when I placed my order and he told me no; we don't do that it's a mix of wings. I flipped and told him "you do, you did it to me a few weeks ago!" (who makes up something like that) He responds "ma'am don't yell at me, I have customers in front of me" ( He wasn't nice at all, but I was definitely yelling, that's probably why, lol) I was ticked off, so I asked him to get me the manager and he respond they are not here, they will back on Monday. So I ask who is the person I should ask for and he responds "anyone", what a joke! Check your food with delivery and pick up, don't let them get away with it again yelpers! Excellent food , slow service. If you are in a hurry , do not go here. I was left on hold for 2 minutes and wasn't quoted a time to pick it up. My order took 50 minutes to make. I don't know what the other reviewer was talking about it being greasy it has never been greasy and I have eaten there for years. The prices are reasonable and they know it this is why they do not accept credit cards. The portions are generous and they give out a lot of salsa and sour cream when asked. It's a bit odd to walk into a Mexican restaurant and see Chinese people running it. Nonetheless, the food is great and priced really well. Cash only, so be aware when ordering delivery or going in to pick up. My favorite, which totally isn't Mexican, is the Bourbon Chicken or Shrimp.
