I found island leis after my best friend used them for her wedding, and they were THE best. Her flowers were gorgeous! So when it came to my own wedding I knew I wanted something from then, unfortunately I had relocated to NorCal. They worked with me though and helped make me and my husbands day even better with making us all white orchid leis for my best friends and a full maile lei for my husband. Even after an hour flight from LA to Sacramento the flowers were beautiful! We kept them refrigerated over night and they still were perfect the next day for our wedding. Both my husband and I can't wait till we have our big reception next, we will definitely be figuring out a way for them to provide all our flowers next time! Nellie is the best! I was searching high and low for a florist for our wedding. I decided that I didn't like roses or any other type of flowers, but wanted tropical flowers. We were so glad that we found Nellie. We kinda didn't really want to give our business to people who didn't seems genuine or cold, or who charged an outrageous price. Our initial contact with Nellie was wonderful. You know when you meet someone, it feels like you're great friends? That's the feeling we got when we met her. SHE IS SO WARM AND FRIENDLY :D Now, I am not by any means super picky. Nellie had me bring some sample centerpiece photos. When the date came for my appointment with her I was WOW'd. She took the photos I gave her and made a wonderful centerpiece! I was really excited to have them at my wedding. I was so impressed when I first saw my bouquet, the centerpieces at our reception, the corsages and boutonnieres, and our sweetheart table arrangements. They were so amazing and blew us away! Something like this is what only a talented person can do! At the end of the reception, I didn't even get to take an arrangement home. Our guests fell in love with them. They were impressed to see they weren't your typical wedding floral arrangements. Nellie is an awesome lady and has a beautiful soul! I highly recommend you pay her a visit for any floral needs. Today is Valentine's Day. It's my first time having flowers delivered to a date while they are at work. Gotta up my Mr. Lova Lova game you know? Anyways, Nellie made the process super easy for me, even when I called and texted her multiple times to make changes on my note because I wanted to change one line from "more vibrant" to "ever so vibrant". (It's more romantic duhh.) The flowers were delivered not only ON time, but just early enough before me lady arrived at her desk. It ended up being the perfect surprise. Tears of joy fell. I purchased my children's lei for graduations here and now each time the come back home from service now over seas- I think it is way better than standing with a silly poster since we are very Californian and go to Hawaii often sailing. Went there today to order my Lei for graduation on Thursday and wasn't aware I had to order at least 7 days in advance. I understand it is a busy time, but the person I spoke to was very rude. I worked very hard to earn my masters degree and wanted to celebrate my accomplishment with a purple and yellow lei from this place because it was recommended to me by my best friend. I am a reasonable person and would have been okay if I was spoken to in respectful way. You are running a business with people who have feelings and are celebrating some thing that is once in a life time. Definitely not recommending this place to ANYONE! Ordered a lei for my daughter's graduation. Had a car accident earlier in the day. By the time we got a new rental car, the store was closed by about 15 minutes. I called. The owner picked up and when I explained she said someone would be waiting with the lei. I told her it would take 35 minutes for me to get there. She told me to take my time and be careful. When I got there, true to her word, the gorgeous lei was waiting plus she added another lei free of charge because she knew we'd had a bad day. She was so kind. And the leis were incredible. I went to Island Leis not knowing what to really expect except that they had a great 5 star rating. I was hoping to buy a few fresh leis for my sons graduation. I was totally last minute and had no time to order any so I was really hoping to get lucky and find a few. I was so happy when I opened the door! Lots of beautiful fresh leis! I mean beautiful! They had the classic flower leis of carnation and purple orchid, plumeria, ginger, and many one of a kind leis made up of different flowers. They had the university colors too. Blue , gold, red etc... They also had many different types of non flower leis. The fresh leis were all carefully packaged and refrigerated. I ended up buys 5 leis! Each one beautiful and unique. I couldn't wait to put them on my Berkeley grad. They women in there were busy making more leis and they were so island friendly. Thank you! read more

They make great beautiful leis but they are so busy , they have little time to spend with their customers. So it's hard to ask questions and ask for suggestions because they seem annoyed and rushed. Also if you will order, has yo be way ahead of time --at least a month or more ahead. read more
