While vacationing on AMI in late May, we needed to send a picture to our home in Illinois. I went to your store and received an estimate of $35-$40 for the packing and shipping. I then returned to pay for the service and was handed a bill for $79.42. I questioned the cost and was told that I was an "ungrateful" customer! I indicated that an estimate should be close to the actual cost - not double!!!! I paid the amount, as I had no other options to choose from. The manager was also very rude and arrogant. I will never do business with such an unprofessional store as this. AMI does not need this type odmf business at all!!! read more

I had to use this business while I was in town to print and notarize a document unexpectedly. I was able to email the document, have them print it, and arrange to be there when the notary was working. She notarized the document and scanned it so she could email it back to me. The whole thing cost about $12 and SAVED THE DAY for me! Big thanks! Pro tip: If you are going to have something notarized, ask what time she is working, not just what day she works. We just stood in line behind three other parties who were waiting in the sun with us for service. After a while, the gentleman in front of us gave up and walked away. After a while, we did too as the line continued to grow behind us. No one ever said anything to us. As we got in the car, I finally see two additional workers come outside and begin greeting and helping the people that were behind us. DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS FOR SHIPPING. The owner is out to take advantage of people by charging OUTRAGEOUS prices. I bought two lamps at $300. I dropped them off and the girl who assists him said it would be right around $100 which was steep but we couldn't carry them on the plane. She said they would call with the exact price. They called and charged me $269 dollars to ship. I was furious. And, that is not all I received the boxes damaged...lamp shade and base damaged. See photos. read more

The best service I have had at any establishment during the COVID-19 pandemic! I am staying in AMI in my family's vacation home, which is unequipped with a printer or any basic mailing necessities. I ended up needing to do a return to manufacturer for a warranty issue with an electronic, and needed to find a FedEx shipping location that would do ALL of the packaging and printing for me which I was expecting to be a total hassle and cost an arm and a leg. I went to Island Mail out of pure convenience, and was VERY pleasantly surprised. All of the service was curbside, the gentleman helping me was very cognizant of Social Distancing guidelines and was wearing a face mask. I explained that all I had was the item I needed shipped, but needed a box, packing peanuts, tape, and the label printed. He told me it would be no issue, and explained that they I could simply connect to their store Wi-Fi, which was very clearly printed on the curbside table, and could print the label straight from my phone. SO. EASY! He took my item needing shipping, and was back in less than 2 minutes with it perfectly packaged and a shipping receipt ready to go. Best of all... my total was only $4! I cannot express how refreshing it was to have such excellent service, especially during a process that is normally frustrating and expensive. Would 10/10 recommend for all printing/packaging needs on AMI! read more

I was in Florida because of a death. I didn't know anything about any businesses in the area. I found this business on the internet called and asked if they could package things. They said yes,so I went and found their location they were very friendly when I went in and asked for an hour to package the best way to protect the items. I live in Virginia. They had everything packaged well and it arrived today February 13th totally in tact. I would highly recommend them to anyone. read more

If I had it to do over, I would have made the drive to Bradenton rather than be hassled as a "non-revenue" customer & be told I was less important than other customers because I showed up with a prepaid Fedex package. Lose the attitude and greed Island Mail or lose customers! I would recommend slipping them $20 up front if you want service! read more

Eric and Rebecca are such a great team--they help me with challenging and complicated shipments. I don't know what I would do without them!!!! They aren't just a shipping service...they are part of the community. They have local art and products for sale inside the store--trying to help their fellow business owners! They also have an internet cafe with very nice computers & large screens. They'll help you with even the most daunting shipment, and they'll research and find you the best deal and the best shipping insurance. I have shipped two planters weighing 60 lbs and measuring 60 inches long (yikes!) AND a huge WALL made of driftwood and plants--both of which they handled gracefully and efficiently. It's such a pleasure to ship down items from home and not have to try and jam it all into luggage and pay airlines overage fees! And on the way home, their services are priceless! I was trying to close a very important business deal and needed a notary. I went online and found this business. Rebecca answered my call. I explained that I was not going to have the documents I needed to ececute until after normal business hours. She gave me her personal cell number!!! She told me to call anytime after hours and she would meet me anywhere and anytime! Now thats SERVICE!
