THE BEST SHIPPING PRICES AROUND!!!!!! Today I was told by THE UPS STORE right around the corner from THE MAIL STATION they just didn't feel like making a box to ship my item. (UPS OWNER literally said they didn't feel like dealing with making a box) I was in a panic, this spraying machine HAD to be shipped! We have a huge job in KNOX that needed it ASAP. The Mail Station - Shipping Centers Near Me - Sarasota, Florida

The Mail Station really came through for us today. We were trying to get several documents notarized, but hadn't had any luck. When we arrived here, the owner couldn't notarize anything right then because we needed an additional two witnesses. However, he took down our number and promised to give us a call as soon as a few more people were available. Probably in less than a hour, he called to let us know we could get the notarization we required. The whole process was very simple and we were out of there in about 10 minutes. It also was much less expensive than we expected to pay, so that was a plus, too. So grateful for the owner going the extra mile to help us out. We also use The Mail Station every Christmas to mail our packages. They are always nice to do business with. Highly recommended. read more

Forget the UPS store! The Mail Station is the place for Personal Concierge Services at reasonable prices. We had to clear up my father-in-law's home and had to send packages with heirlooms to various family members. Tim received our ramshackle wrapped fragile glass items, framed pictures and misc items of varying sizes. Most of which were more of sentimental value than anything else so we wanted save on cost while also getting it to destination safely. The team did a phenomenal job. - Packed by the time promised - Sourced the most affordable shipping - Reused packaging to save on materials and lessened on both cost and waste We were scrambling to get the last stuff done and I ran out of time to get all documents to the shredding company. Tim jumped right in and graciously accepted two BIG boxes and handled it after our departure. I've NEVER received this level of service from our any of the UPS stores which we use for our business. I just recently took a Birthday card with a gift card inside it, completely addressed for my daughter in law. I was promised it would get there in two days! Perfect, I was told it would go into another pkg for UPS. They put the incorrect address on the new envelope and she never received the card. I called the store and was told I should have looked at my tracking receipt and I would have caught it. No I'm sorry, no apology, actually just deferred total fault to me not checking my tracking receipt! I was appalled at the callous and insensitive response to clearly their mistake. I will never do business with a company or individual that just can't bring themselves to saying I'm sorry, admitting that it was a mistake and do their best to make things right! Never Again!!! I went to buy stamps today at a place I have used for 10 years. Tim is always so welcoming, the dark-haired woman - not at all. I bought a book of stamps and was told it was $13.00. I thought it seemed high but don't calculate in my head. It should have been $11.40 as the price of stamps does not increase until 2022 per the USPS site. I phoned expecting the customer service to be wonderful and was treated to a very "rude" reception with no regret. She stated they are allowed to charge whatever they want for stamps, not just the going rate. WHAT? So, I called the USPS to see if overcharging on stamps is legal. They are investigating but their first response is to say surcharges are definitely not allowed. As for the dark-haired woman she has no clue what being polite means. Since I requested a return on the overpriced stamps, which she told me she would not allow when I was on the phone, I went back into the store and demanded it...she threw the money at me on the counter. She is RUINING Tim's store. Because of my past years of wonderful Tim service, I will not give the store a one-star but I NEVER PLAN TO GO BACK THERE DUE TO THAT WOMAN. My go to place. They have everything one needs and they do a perfect job. They do faxing, receive faxes, copies, mail, certified mail, etc...anything you could possibly want. The folks are really nice, it's a neighborhood place, with a nice Florida feel. I'm not from Florida, but when I do business there...I feel like I'm from Florida. Why? Because they make you feel at home, and they're very trustworthy. I don't have a fax machine, but they'll accept faxes on your behalf. Again, I trust them & that's a nice option. Icing on the cake for me, is Tim. He sure knows his sports. I could sit there and talk sports with him all day. A lot of customers go in there to visit & talk. I don't like writing bad reviews but frankly feel the need to warn people about this business. There are a lot of Pack n Ship places around Sarasota. I used this one 3 times in early 2010 and on my final visit I decided not to go through with the transaction and take my business elsewhere. Here is why: the guy who runs the store lies to his customers about the shipping costs, weight of the package and overcharges for just about every other thing in the store. He does not give receipts for this very reason and I had to request one specifically on my first trip and even that turned out to be a basic receipt with no information ie. not a proper shipping receipt. On my last visit he tried to charge me $22 for shipping a small box to California. I felt something wasn't right and after asking a few questions I asked for my money back and took my package to the US Postal Services. The Mail Station owner had told me my packaged weighed 4lbs and would be 5lbs once it was packed in a box. I packed my own box at USPS and the shipping total came to $9.18. I did not have to request a receipt, they gave me one automatically that showed that my packed box actually weighed 2lbs, as I suspected. I suggest you take your business to either the USPS or the pack and ship on the other side of University Parkway next to the movie theatres. read more

It really sucks not having a post office close by but I figured a pack and ship store would be good, right, no! I went here and it is a pain just to park, or even leave for that matter. Then if you manage to get inside the place is horrible. Filthy, cluttered, dusty and the manager is was not very personable when i tried to get help figuring out the box I needed to ship since I couldn't find anything in that mess. I'm filing a better business bureau review and hope to convince others not to use this mailing facility. They lie, cheat and steal from their customers. Definitely overcharge on package weight and mailing fees. I shipped a 2lb package for 2 day delivery and paid $27. The package still has not arrived 10 days later. The next day I shipped a smaller package at another facility and paid $13 which arrived in 3 days due to Thanksgiving holiday. I asked the 2nd facility why the charges were so high at Mail Station and they told me all the complaints they hear about that place. It's illegal to overcharge USPS mail. Reading these reviews I feel compelled to Share my experience. Living around the corner I was a repeat customer. I brought in a return for Amazon the end of July and by mid August Amazon had not received any tracking information. As I was sending a package overseas- I just happened to see my package just sitting there after almost a month!! No effort to contact me, look up my name which was on the box. Lady accused me of not having return label. I knew I did because I brought it in and they were going to tape it for me. She repeatedly accused me and I was already taking a back by the horrible customer service so I ripped open the box and there it was and had been taped closed inside. They had the audacity to say that I must have done that when I refuted and said I brought it in with the label because I did not have packaging tape and they said they would tape it up for me. Meanwhile, I'm waiting for an APOLOGY and received the opposite. Flabbergasted they wouldn't even apologize for their mistake!!! Additionally, I had to send a fax few months ago. Now. I know it is antiquated but it's really a matterof a phone call and they charge me $11 I think I was too much in shock to realize the disgrace to be charged $11 for a local fax. However I have told everyone I know all my neighbors and the locals nearby cannot go there they are a rip off I now travel a little further out of my way but my conscience is clear I will never give business to this establishment again. I went in there to buy stamps because it was on my way to work and thought that it would be a better option than stopping at the Post office and also because Walmart didn't have rolls of stamps. Well stupid me didn't even question the price at time because i was in a hurry and they charged me an additional $14 for 2 rolls of stamps. This place is so user-friendly that it has become a hangout for patrons! No kidding! I'm told there's a guy who wants to date me who's been asking for me there. And it's "just" a postal mart -- they wrap and fix your wrapping for free, pack fragile stuff impeccably, remember and store the addresses of your kids, will send off packages and let you stop by later (if you're a regular, I assume). And just two wonderful, indispensable people run this place. All they offer is postal service for all the ways of sending stuff. I normally mail things from home using USPS. Today I had to mail something FedEx. The service was wonderful! They helped us get the best price while still arriving on time. Their prices for notarizing papers was much cheaper than the other place we went to prior. We have gone many times before to drop off packages that we have already paid for at home using our computer. They are so kind to accept our package and I have never felt ripped off. There has never been a charge for dropping things off. We received a full page print out with our tracking number as well as a receipt for the payment we made. read more

This place is great. Had an mailbox here for awhile. When I'm out of state they forward my mail anywhere. Nice and friendly mom and pops kinda place. Also, they'll pack everything up for me. Yes they charge a little more than the post office but I'm not driving out of my way to stand in long lines. They also take all my ups and fedex drop offs without charging me. You are better off walking your item to it's destination. I mailed something with this establishment 3 days ago. I have yet to be able to track it with the tracking number they provided me. They gave me no receipt for my purchase and when I inquired they told me "we don't have to give you a receipt, if you don't ask". They told me the post office "should scan it in today or tomorrow, other than that, I can't help you". They didn't open an investigation to find my item and they could not have displayed less interest. The post office has since stepped in to help me. They basically negated everything this business owner told me about my transaction. They have absolutely zero idea of what they are doing. We've sent extremely urgent International package on Friday Sep 19th , just found out on Tuesday Sep 22 (the day it was supposed to be delivered abroad) that it was still sitting in their location and not being carried out to DHL carrier (they're DHL "Authorized" Shipping Center) When asked about the explanation, none was given. No apology, like nothing wrong happened. I called to DHL on Tuesday and they called me back apologizing, saying the agent (Mail Station) did not handled it right and they are going to "coach" them. As I checked the BBB rating of the Mail Station, it's D MINUS - no wonder this is something I've encountered. Mail Station do not care about their customers. I asked Nancy, the employee to ask an owner to contact me to resolve it properly. No one called me. Finally I've confirmed on Tuesday Sep 22 afternoon, that my package was picked ups finally by DHL and it's going to be on it's way. What company they must be at parties....actually quite pathetic. I have had a box there for many years, shipped and received many items, had numerous items forwarded to me when I was living out of state. Not one single problem..ever...Tim has always looked out for me, went above and beyond the call of duty. Remember..this is a business, not drama central social hour. I used this station twice and both times I was felt that I was being ripped off. The first time I complained about the price, he pretty much told me to go elsewhere. A few years later, used him again and he charged me $17 for an overnight fedex package - found that high. A few weeks later, I had another fed ex package (same weight...) took it across the street to Sunshine Pack & Ship - 6210 Lockwood Ridge Rd. on the other side of Univ. I have mailed packages at this store for or five times during this year. Two weeks ago I mailed two packages and it was the first time I have ever had them supply the box and pack the items for me. They did a great job at what I consider a fair price and the big PLUS was that the packages arrived at the destination two days early. They lie about shipping prices. A girl with blonde hair priced my book at $10. I felt like it wasn't right, so I told her I was just going to take it to the Post Office, she responded "This is the post office price, you'd just be wasting gas driving down there." I had an awful experience. The owner was extremely rude because I paid with a debit card. I do not recommend this store. He charged me $3.50 for an item priced at $1.90, even after his visa charge, this amount of overcharge seems quite unreasonable and unethical to me; there are no signs posted stating extra fees for the use of a debit card. In fact, he cursed me out because I mentioned this discrepancy to him. I am shocked at his lack of professionalism. I recently went to the Mail Station to send out a small package. I asked the employee about the best way/least expensive way to mail the item. After paying and leaving the business, I thought more about the price paid. It did not sit well with me. I checked with a nearby Mail Station and was told that I had definitely spent too much money. I then returned (in less than an hour) to the Lockwood Ridge business to see if I could get my package back. I was told that it had already left the facility- something that caused me to doubt whether true. At a later time, when attempting to track the item with the tracking # given, I ran into a lot of difficulties. Subsequently, when contacting the Mail Station, I was told that the original tracking # had changed. (Why had I not been informed??) Overall, my experience with the Mail Station was not the best.
