Decent poke spot. Fresh ingredients, typical to other poke spots, and good for a quick fix. They also have other items on the menu such as ramen and rice bowls. I was actually skeptical cause I typically only go to a Pokeworks since it never disappoints but needed to find a new spot in Long Island. I created my own bowl with 3 protein. For the base, they have rice, salad or zucchini noodles so I decided to try out the zucchini noodles. It was basically just spiraled zucchini. For my protein, I stuck with salmon and spicy salmon but they also have cooked items such as chicken and tofu along with the their raw options. You can also choose as many toppings as you want, which had the typical options along with a variety of sauces. All the ingredients were fresh and the zucchini noodles were actually pretty good. First off I have previously left two great reviews for this place. Island Poke is clean, the food is decent and their location is good because it's in the suburbs without a lot of poke choices. I've since visited plenty of times since my last review. Sometimes for a large order, other times for a quick bite. I've noticed the last few times more often than not, a customer could be standing at the front counter for an unnecessary extended amount of time due to the staff not acknowledging their presence. Maybe the place is understaffed, maybe they're so bombarded with orders.. who knows? I would never try to critisize the employees for something they can't control. Today when I entered around 6PM, there were a few customers waiting for their order. I stood at the front counter for a good 5 minutes possibly more before an employee even looked at me. There were two employees a male and female both in the back of the kitchen. They did seem to be working as the male was preparing and packaging food. Even though he appeared to be working at a slow pace and doesn't seem to really care. (Body language) the female employee walks to the front a few times and doesn't acknowledge me or another person (grubhub). It is almost 10 minutes before the employee asks if I am waiting for an order. Just saying, I almost left the location to go get food from somewhere else. The female seemed like a nice person but same thing. Her body language reeked of I hate my job I don't care whatever lol. Again I'm not accusing the employees of having a poor work ethic. Just going by what I see. Just imagine this occurring throughout the day and alot of customers would walk out. Revenue lost! Employees should be more observant. You see people waiting in front check if they need to order. Overall I will still purchase food here. The staff that I have dealt with in the past are friendly. We went here for dinner on a Saturday night at 7 pm. Was empty when we walked in and got busier by 8 pm or so. I got the Tonkutsu Ramen and my friend got the Chicken Shoyu Ramen. The Tonkutsu Ramen had pork in it which was nice and juicy. I am not sure what those noodles were made of, but I didn't like it much. The over all flavor was very good. The Chicken Shoyu Ramen was very mild (the guy at the front did tell us that). I preferred the noodles in this one over the other. They had detox water up the front so we didn't have to buy water or soda as such. I liked that. They have to-go boxes on the counter as well - Much needed because their portions are pretty large. This restaurant is a great spot for poké and it was so easy to order online. They encourage online ordering by giving an online discount of 10% off. My boyfriend and I ordered for in-store pick up and we got the chicken karaage, spicy tuna bowl, and Hawaiian classic bowl and everything was so delicious and filling. We picked our sizes, so my boyfriend got three proteins and I got two, which was the perfect serving sizes! I love that they add the kani salad and crunchies with each bowl! The chicken karaage came with the most flavorful dipping sauce with the perfect amount of spice. I'll keep this review short and sweet!! Island poke definitely delivers fresh poke and serious island vibes. This newly opened spot is clean, spacious, and has tables and counters for indoor dining although it doesn't look like they offer it now due to Covid. Customers have the option of choosing a preset or customizing a bowl. I would recommend building your own, bc you can choose 2 proteins or 3, depending on whether you select the regular or large size (large size just has the extra protein but comes in the same size serving bowl). All the presets only have 1 protein. Mix-ins are generous and include your usual expected toppings like onion crunch, Kani salad, masago, seaweed salad. I thought the portions were fair given the price of $11 for the small bowl. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and as a bonus, our orders were ready at lightning speed! read more

Woohoo! Island Poke has opened in East Meadow and I am over the moon! Today I went to this new outpost of the Island Poke empire, which sits in the strip mall next to Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace. I choose to create a large bowl with salmon, ahi tuna and shrimp over a bed of fresh salad greens. I mixed in edamame, hijiki seaweed, and cilantro with a spicy ponzu sauce and a splash of ginger & scallion. I topped off the bowl with kani salad, masago, pickled ginger, sweet and sour radish and carrot, seaweed salad, and pickled shiitake mushrooms (+1USD). Then I threw in some shredded nori and wasabi peas for added crunch. OMG! Simply irresistible! In addition to Create your Poke Bowl, The menu offers Signature Poke Bowls, Rice Bowls and Ramen Bowls. Found this restaurant when I was looking for a poke bowl near East Meadow. When I looked at the menu I was exited to see that you could have linguini noodles as your base. One night, it wasn't too late, I was trying to find some poké. Since there was a spot closer to my side of town, I used to go there but it got shut down. Luckily I found Island poke. I went into the restaurant with my girlfriend and we both ordered the same poke bowl but since I was extremely hungry I ordered the large while she ordered the regular. The spice used for the poke bowl was just perfect, spicy enough that it's hot but not to the point where isn't not eatable. The fish and leaves tasted so fresh and I enjoyed it a lot. We ended up getting to go since we wanted to catch something at home but looking around in the restaurante there's some spots to sit down and eat but I can picture it getting crowded during lunch or on a weekend, so maybe call up before expecting to sit down and eat there. Everything was great with island poke except for what I mentioned before, I ordered a large and my girlfriend ordered a regular. After ordering our meals, getting home, we open up the package and the two meals are the same size. Very exited they opened. Came on a Thursday to try the Tokutsu ramen and ohh man.....This was the best ramen on East meadow. The base of the soup was so flavorful and tasty, the texture of the pork and ramen was on point.
