We visited Miso Ramen and Hibachi for a quick lunch, and ordered: - Tonkotsu Ramen: $14.99; $16.28 with tax. OK. The char siu (roasted pork belly slices) melted in the mouth and the marinated egg was done well, but the broth was somewhat bland -- perhaps we should have tried the spicy version instead. The dish included some bok choy, and a generous amount of bamboo slices. - Two Rolls Lunch Special: $10.95; $11.92 with tax. We ordered an Eel Avocado Roll and a Salmon Avocado Roll. The eel was chewier than expected, the salmon could have been fresher. Complimentary water was provided. Service was OK, and the dining room was bright and pleasant. This is one of those small, unassuming spots that ends up being a great little find. Cute little spot. The decor is nice, so even though it's a smaller place it is nicer than expected inside. The hibachi is at the sushi bar not at your table like some places but the hibachi plate came out tasty as anywhere. The sushi was fresh we got a rainbow roll and a plain tuna roll so the fish really shines and was better than I expected. The ramen was good too. A buddy of mine told me I have to try Miso Ramen, it's the best ramen he had in a long time. Interesting I went because I always get these statements from folks who have a local spot they enjoy. I read the Yelp reviews, lemme swing by for some ramen. Parking? Like a rock star, right up front. I fed the meter, my license plates say Billy Salts but it doesn't impress the police handing out tickets for an expired meter. I walk in and ask if I can dine inside? I'm shown to a table, I'm the only one in the restaurant. Lots of food delivery folks coming in but no dining customers. I ordered the spicy Tantan ramen with ground pork. What was brought to my table was pure joy in a bowl. A properly prepared bowl of flavorful Ramen. Best to describe as a symphony of flavors and I dove right in. Noodles, pork, eggs, oh my! I was craving something different other than the normal food I always get from my usual spots. This was my first time having ramen on Long Island, which was an extra special treat. The location is pretty decent being a couple of blocks away from Roosevelt Field Mall and the LIRR. However, parking is a pain because you only have metered parking on one of the busiest streets possible. We got the tonkotsu ramen, chicken ramen, chashu buns, crispy chicken buns and salmon teriyaki to-go. The food was excellent and the authentic taste brought back memories when we vacationed in Japan. The ramen broth was just right. The buns, I like them both equally. Their chashu is really flavorful whether it's in the ramen or bun. The restaurant is rather spacious and customer service was beyond superb. Our waitress, who is also the owner, was friendly, attentive and engaged in amazing conversation. We had a craving for ramen. With all the restaurants shut down again in NYC, we had to find something on Long Island. After looking around, we decided to try Miso Ramen and Hibachi. We walked in late afternoon on a weekday and discovered that they are takeout and delivery only. Sadly, we turned to walk out as I had no intention of eating ramen in my car. The disappointment on our faces must have moved the owner as they ran out after us to tell us that they will let us eat inside! The food did not disappoint. We ordered: Takoyaki - fresh, not frozen. It was creaming and savory. Fried Chicken tenders - more like katsu than kirage Miso Ramen - very rich with generous portions of Chasu and veggies. Shoyu Ramen - see above. Salmon Teriyaki - my kid finished all the fish. This is a good sign. Hibachi Steak - very tender cubes of steak, but could have used a bit more seasoning. The fried rice was spot on hibachi style. Ambience: typical Japanese sit down styling. Since they are primarily takeout now, you see boxes all over the place. Service - the waitress was (overly) enthusiastic. Today was a dreary, rainy day...and the ramen was calling my name! We tried a few appetizers and three different ramen bowls. This was during Covid-19, so no dine-in option. They packed our ramen bowls perfectly, separating the soups so that the noodles won't absorb all the soup before we got home. Customer service was very friendly, efficient and fast. Appetizers: - Pork Gyoza (5pcs for $6): these were pretty good; albeit standard. I really enjoyed these but question if they're worth $6 for 5 small pieces. - Japanese Spring Rolls (2pcs for $5): again, good but standard; didn't think it was worth $5 for two small pieces. Ramen ($14.95 each): This is where Miso Ramen shines. We tried the three kinds (Tonkotsu Ramen, Spicy Tantan Ramen and Spicy Miso Ramen). All three ramen bowls were well executed. All fresh ingredients; spiciness levels on par with what was ordered. These ramen bowls were very satisfying on this drab rainy day. It really hit the spot! Food came out relatively quickly. They had told us it would take 20 minutes to make the ramen (since there was also 10+ people in our party) so when it came out before the 20 mins, we were so grateful cause we were starving! Miso Ramen and Hibachi has potential. They are in a great location near the Mineola LIRR station, Winthrop Hospital and courthouses. Happy that this took over for one of the dime a dozen pizzerias that litter Long Island. Finally getting more diverse options closer to home. Unfortunately, I experienced a few issues with the food and the timing of the dishes. I know they have just opened so I kinda expected the jitters. Our apps of a roasted duck bun and tako yaki came as we were halfway through our bowls of ramen. Throughout our visit the servers were trying to figure out which tables ordered what and I overheard diners talking to waitstaff about receiving incorrect items. Here's a rundown of the food: Yuzu Soda: On the menu this is listed with a translation of plum, its not. This is straight up Yuzu soda which, for the uninitiated, is closer to citrus or lemonade. Calpico Soda: I love this delicious tasting soda. As with all sodas mega high sugar content (25 grams or 6+ teaspoons of sugar. DAMN!) Roasted Duck Bun: I wouldn't mind paying $4.50 for an item I can buy for less that $2 in Queens if it was stellar, but this was way below average with the bun being on the cooler side and slightly stale. I would say avoid the buns. Tako Yaki: These came out lava hot and a bit greasy lacking bonito flakes that covered only a couple of the balls. I did not enjoy these much. Tonkotsu Ramen: If you truly enjoy the broth in ramen you will be disappointed by the smallish portion. The flavor was decent and the ramen noodles acceptable. My "Soy Egg" (Why not use the Nitamago term? Soy egg sounds like they are made from soy beans) was slightly overcooked, but still had a creamy yolk. The chashu was the STAR of the bowl - fall apart tender, nicely seasoned and 4 generous pieces. Sriracha and chili pepper was on the table, but no spicy paste addition listed on the menu was disappointing. Some of the veges were on the cold side sitting above the broth. Spicy Miso Ramen: I tasted this, but my issue with spicy soups is that the spicy oil they use tends to coat my throat and makes me cough - really no way around it when it floats on top and is part of every spoonful. Good flavor though. Green Tea Cheesecake: Dry, heavy and slightly sour. Perhaps the most disappointing item I tried here. If you like matcha or cheesecake then don't get this because the combo doesn't work here. Hopefully Miso will tweak some things along the way. I plan on coming back in a month or so to see if they worked out the issues. read more

The place also seems to be under new management. I ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen along with the Hibachi Fried Rice, but I wasn't very impressed this time around. The delivery came early but the broth was lukewarm and tasted bland. It wasn't salty per say, but it just didn't have much flavor and seemed watered down. The noodles were thin and weren't as soft as I would've liked them to be. The pork and the egg were tasty, but more consistency would've been better. I noticed they also took away the fish cake topping. The rice was good. Just wish my ramen had been more flavorful. I like the fact that more and more Asian eateries are popping up in Nassau but this place was a miss for me. We stopped by to grab some lunch on the weekend and it was pretty disappointing. We ordered a special roll as well as 3 different bowls of ramen to try. They all sadly were pretty meh. The roll was bland - spicy tuna had no flavor and the rice was underseasoned. Spicy miso ramen had a bland broth and too many noodles. Also their ramen is thin and was a tad overcooked. Charsiu was also under seasoned and too lean. Spicy tantan also suffered from the same problem - bland broth. Tonkotsu ramen broth tasted like water. My other gripe was that they put bok choy in the ramen which didn't fit the flavor at all. While this place is probably passable for the people that work in the area, for those that eat ramen regularly will likely be disappointed since the flavors just aren't there. Prices are a bit high for the quality (15 bucks a bowl) and the service was pretty bad. They didn't bring water until my wife reminded them for a third time.
