I knew I wanted either paper lei or eyelash yarn lei, even tho I've never done either. Wish me luck. I went first to the paper crafts section. Thank goodness the paper punches were in stock as were the cardstock packs in the colors I wanted. There were sample sizes and finished sample lei for those of us who can only work with 3D concepts. Then I went to the yarn section. All the yarns were neatly sectioned by type and color. There were signs and descriptions and also finished samples with the types of yarn. The most impressive highlight for me was the staff! Everyone I encountered was helpful, patient, and gave advice willingly. One was leading a workshop and I felt bad just asking for her to call for someone to assist but she was like "I gotchu, what advice do you want?" Then I found someone else closer to the yarns and asked her and she was also very matter-of-fact with the advice. Very helpful and practical. I renewed my membership for $10 which already paid for itself coz the 10% discount was $12. I think. I better not get obsessed with another new hobby!!

That's what CAS Crafts & Collectibles is, located in Pearlridge Center this little kiosk cart is filled to the brim top to bottom with all thinks kawaii not just stationaries and accessories but plushies and decor. Pearlridge Center is filled with many places anime and Kpop though here they just seem to find items that aren't found anywhere else and at such great prices what a find to see items that are so special and makes my gift giving a breeze! What a find including some Line Friends items which is just the most difficult ones to find and they have it here yay!! My bestie have apparently discovered this place which I have known for quite some time but haven't had the chance to write a review but they certainly deserve the five stars for the selection and friendly staff who points out the matching item to pair with whatever direction I'm going and that's a ten star team! We had just finished breakfast and had time before lunch... CAS Crafts & Collectables has so many cute items - pens, stationary, keychains, plushies, etc. I actually found Brown and Choco pillows from Line Friends (the Korean version of Sanrio). I had to get the Brown plushie for my friend's birthday next month! She'll luv it!!! I don't want to show her the Brown and Cony angel plushies... There was only one... and it was priced lower than an online store (plus - avoid paying shipping)!!! It's also better to get items from this kiosk - rather than going to Korea to buy them! Haha! Kai Ku Hale was one of those little Haleʻiwa stores where I wanted half the things I saw and bought…read moreexactly nothing. The name itself made me like the store even more. Kai Ku Hale means "house on the gentle ocean at low tide." Owner Layne Larsen came up with it from one of her favorite things to do: walk the North Shore at low tide collecting shells, driftwood, sea glass and other things left behind by the ocean. She opened the store in 2008, originally thinking it would be an interior design business, but when the recession hit, she shifted it into a place that supported local artists. And once you know that, the store makes so much sense. I kept noticing recycled fabric, glass, driftwood and repurposed materials everywhere. Sustainability didn't feel like something added on for marketing. It felt baked into the place. The store now carries work from more than 50 island artists and makers, with a lot of pieces made from reclaimed, reused and recycled materials. And OMG the tchotchkes. So many things I could picture coming home with me. I bought nothing. Not because I wasn't tempted. I was VERY tempted. Expensive, yes. But this was one of my favorite stores to simply wander through in Haleʻiwa. And knowing the story behind the name made me like it even more.

This unique market is simply artsy with so many vendors that literally completes your home environment with unique goods each in its own way and I just can't believe that I've never wrote a review of this place most probably because I want to keep it to myself. What's great about it well location conveniently right on the mall level outside of Macy's and that makes it with free parking of course and the covered parking makes it worry free of any sudden weather changes. Well on this trip it was the first for 2023 and with many vendors still in recovery mode from the holidays there was just half the amount than usual but it certainly didn't feel like it as each and every one was just so amazing me and my bestie literally stopped at every one. There was a surprise newbie to this market was Upcycle Hawaii who's from the Big Island and only does one show on Oahu so I was so delighted to see them here and from what it sounds will probably be here for a few more events woohoo!! With that and grabbing some tea at Wynnwood Farms, a tote at Renyu, building our own keycharms at Kassidy's Kreations we both got our retail therapy done and more! They had a great selection of clay pieces and they give you two hours to paint at our own pace. It felt nice to unplug for a bit, enjoy the little things, and just exist in our own creative bubble for awhile. We can't wait to see how our finished pieces turn out.
