Featuring many of Lauren Roth's soft, colorful art with various Hawaiian landscapes, flowers and beaches as the subject, it's challenging to make a decision! While the art is colorful, it isn't childlike. The palettes are soft and can easily blend in or stand out in a variety of home decor styles. I decided on a print of the mountains with the ocean in the foreground to hang in my home in Portland. It will be a reminder of my love for Hawaii and my many trips to the various islands and towns. Kailua on O'ahu being my favorite destination . In addition to prints, there are also textiles. The handbags are fun and charming!!! I may have to get the bucket bag with th tassel! She makes postcards on thin pieces of wood that can easily be framed. They have a vintage look that I adore. And coloring books for the kids or adults! Cards, postcards, stickers, serving platters...and different items coming, I'm sure. Imagination never stops! This gallery also features other artists, giving them a vehicle to display their work. So many beautiful pieces! The customer service was fabulous, thank you, John! I stopped in right before closing and was greeted and welcomed as if the studio had just opened. While I don't want this trip to Hawaii to end, I am excited about getting my print framed and hung up at home for a touch of Aloha by my side always.

With the…read moreadaptation of technology and online books I never thought that a store like this would still exist! They had a ton of literature books at every single book and cranny of this store and it was substantial. I saw an old Aesop Fables book that I read when I was younger on the shelves as well - very nostalgic. I'm more of a manga girl so I didn't really see too much nooks that interested me - but if you're really into hardcore literature than this place is definitely it. They had so much books categorized and it felt a bit overwhelming - yet I liked it. I love the smell of books when you walk in, very comforting. I love physical books as well so shops like these are a gem. Had people manning the cashier but mostly just people browsing around enjoying the selection of books. Did not see the price range, but I would assume it is standard in comparison to B&N pricing.

They're all over the place, but there is so much to choose from. The service here is really good unfortunately there was a lady here that tried to use a "" gift certificate that did not work and she was not very polite to the staff The staff handled it really well and they were still polite back, although it made for an uncomfortable experience everybody just carried on, and she proceeded to yell at people behind her as well. Some people just are having a day sometimes. I loved how many things there were to look at I unfortunately had to also think about the fact that I was gonna be flying home with weight but if you're a book lover, definitely stop by and give this place a look at

Words cannot describe this artist…read more Genius? Friendly? Free spirit? How about all of this and more! We had the pleasure of meeting and working with him at an event in late January in Kapolei. It was certainly an educational experience which Naoki Hayashi was the master in both teaching keiki's and adults alike, whether it was etiquette or the skill of his craft. My friend remembered his paintings that adorn the Original Roy's (Hawaii Kai) Restaurant lobby area (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=KRN2w_7B09aVEMvE2UQg0g&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) and immediately brought his daughter to meet him. When she returned with her artwork, I walked over to find a short line of three adults waiting. When the line became a non-keiki situation, he clearly stated that this activity is meant for keiki's and he would do adults later; being totally understanding, I dropped out and figured it wasn't meant to be. As the event wound down, I noticed more and more adults lining up and taking photos. Looking at my watch, I figured he would probably break down his table and pack up. Guess what? He stayed until every last guest got their fish before calling it a day. As we talked while he coached me (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=vYjsW5dncHvLRLFFJTexnA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), I learned how his passion for his craft led him to this career. You certainly have a greater appreciation for his work and patience after you meet him. Hope to stop by this store next trip to the island.

Built from the ruins of an old gas station, its classic car with waving mannequins, giant plastic horses and colorful flags make for an eye catching road side tourist gift shop however, I used to feel his work deserved a much more classier venu! However, because Patrick is a rodeo clown and cowboy and down home country grown local boy I realized that his gallery really embodies the essence of his message and his spirit. A must buy, is his matted print of honey girl, the famous sea turtle who was killed last year. For only $19.95, it is a nice tribute to the beloved ocean friend. The paint your horse birthday parties are also a must do. You can hire patrick to host a birthday party for your kids where he gets one of those big horses, paints in white then helps the kids paint it with a custom design he created ahead of time. It is a lot of fun!! The economy has been rough on the gallery, so please be sure to stop by and show your support. If you can't go there, go online, and buy a shirt or a print. Help see him through this crisis. He is one of the only people who supports all local artists and products and helps the community so much.

Also in front of this is an art gallery in an old gas station is a great big old car with surfboards on top and some mannequins sitting in the front seat dressed in Naturally Hawaiian T-shirts. They also had some cool Hawaiian print santa hats that I have not seen elsewhere. If you are driving around the island this is worth a stop.
