Burt had his subcontractor reach out to us to ask that we remove our negative review-- rather than addressing our concerns directly. That was disappointing. To be clear, the electric gate was not installed "for free". The subcontractor offered to handle the labor only if we purchased all equipment and materials ourselves. This was done because it was evident that Kihei Fencing had not fulfilled the basic expectations that were originally promised.

After approving the project he had someone at my house starting the fence posts almost immediately. They worked 6 days straight and the worker was polite and professional (hard to find around the island). I made last minute changes to the project that were accommodated quickly and professionally. Anytime I threw changes into the project the text I got back was "Kihei fencing will always do the right thing and what you want! No worries " Professional, quick, quality. If you want a fence done right this is your company. Don't hesitate just go for it.

Installation was fairly quick but not without small nicks and scratches to several of the bars and posts. One of the extender panels was even missing a bar at the top yet was deemed completed. We put blue painters tape on the areas that needed attention. The workers came back to finish up other things, noticed the blue tape and attempted to fix them by applying paint that didn't even match the gate's color. The workers also didn't clean up after themselves, leaving behind shavings and debris for us to clean up. Dirt dug out for post installation was simply left in one of our empty flower pots. We did bring this to the attention of the person we were working with. He stated the scratches were a part of the installation process but it's really due to carelessness. We received a discount and they added the missing bar to the panel. The gates are solid but the locks are another issue. If the combination needs to be changed, the entire handle assembly has to be removed. The push button combination code also doesn't require a specific numerical sequence input, just the correct numbers. And, if the gate is locked, the interior handle never is, so what's the point? You can just reach over and open the gate. OVERALL: Pricey. Lengthy process. Sloppy workmanship.
