Sam was incredible from the start of getting a quote for our fences via Yelp to scheduling the quote, and being in constant communication of the job and the details of when it was going to get done, etc. He was so on it and patient (even though I had to revise my initial quote because I had the wrong thing), but he gladly fixed it and we very promptly set up the date of our old rusty fence removal (old chain link fence with a butt load of dragon fruit plant on it) and installation of a 36" high white vinyl fence. He built us two redwood gates with keyless gate locks and we couldn't love them more. tldr; Reliable Fence Services said they'd install fencing on a specific weekend. Between that installation weekend and the following week, they postponed four times, didn't show up twice, and then ghosted. Also, even though they set an installation date, they did not send me an estimate document or provide information about how I was supposed to pay them until I asked about it. The owner scheduled with us to install the fencing on the 24th and 25th of April. On the 23rd, the owner called to postpone by a day, saying he had a conflicting personal commitment. On the 25th, no one showed up. I texted the owner, and he said that he forgot that his crew needed to get vaccinations. He rescheduled for the 26th and 27th. On the 26th, one worker did show up, but he was under the impression that he was performing an estimate, and did not have the equipment he needed to install all six poles. He installed the four he could, and the owner said they would finish up the next day. On the 27th, owner texted that he was unable to purchase the black chain link fence and rescheduled to the 30th. On the 30th, owner texted that he was still unable to purchase the black chain link fence. I asked to switch to regular chain link if it was easier to obtain just so we could get the fence installed, but the owner asked to reschedule for the following day because now they didn't have enough time to make the purchase and get to our house -- because his crew had to get covid vaccinations that day. On May 1st, no one showed up, and from then on I didn't hear anything from the owner. He didn't respond to texts or phone messages. Furthermore, we learned later on that the four poles that Reliable Fence Services had installed weren't even properly done -- they were dug too shallow, and we were able to pull them out by hand! To be clear, I was happy for his crew to be able to get vaccinated. But the timing of when he'd use vaccinations as the reason that he and his crew couldn't do work made me feel like he wasn't being honest with me about why they couldn't come that day. read more

I recently used Sam from Reliable Fence to install a vinyl fence in my garage. Our property manager noticed that the open edge of the garage floor dropped off a couple of feet to our walkway. Said it was a safety issue for tenant. Asked us to install a fence or railing. We intended to eventually enclose the garage so decided a tall vinyl fence would a possible solution. Requested several estimates from fence companies on Yelp. Sam was the only company willing to come out to see our garage and make recommendations. He came the next day to look at the area needing the fencing and said he could install the fence in a few days. He scheduled a date and time that week. To my surprise, he contacted me next day to say they had a free window of time that morning and could finish in a few hours. By the time I drove out to the house, the fence was installed. After reading so many good reviews I was excited to get my fence replaced. Once the estimate and paperwork were sorted we set a date for installation. I decided to stay home from work the first day to ensure Sam and company had access to everything they would need at my house. Sam and his dad showed up as scheduled and immediately went to work. The job included removing our old fence and replacing it with a new one. What started as excitement soon turned into worries. It took 2 weeks to install 40 ft of fence. The reason it took 2 weeks to finish was because they would work a day and then take 2 days off without notifying us. When Sam and his dad did show up for work they'd only spend 4 hours on site. After each day I would check to see the progress of the fence and one day I found that old parts of the old fence had been installed to the new fence. When asked about it Sam said it was because the warehouse where they purchase material didn't have the parts on hand. Eventually, those pieces were replaced with new pieces. On another occasion, I found that 2 of my post were being held together by some type of adhesive. When asked about it Sam said it was glued together to help the cement cure properly. I understood what he was trying to do but the workmanship was sloppy. Overall I'd say it wasn't a very good experience. I believe Sam has a crew that works under him but they never made it to my house. Maybe I would be singing a different tune had they shown up. Aloha! read more
