I bought two bags of pistachios and chili mango and they are the best I have ever tasted. Fresh. I will buy again.

I just ate some neon gummy bears and they are literally better than all the other brands I've tried! They taste like real fruit gummies!

This place instantly became one of my favorites after just one visit. From the moment you walk in, the whole vibe hits you--the moody, neon-lit ambiance sets the tone perfectly. It feels elevated, a little edgy, and honestly just the kind of spot you want to spend your night at. The music is curated so well. Not too loud, not too mellow--just the right balance where you can vibe, have a conversation, and still feel the energy of the room. You can tell they actually care about the experience, not just throwing a playlist together. Now let's talk about the drinks... because that's really where they shine. Every cocktail feels intentional and crafted with care. You can taste the quality immediately--nothing watered down, nothing basic. They have a really cool mix of classic cocktails and modern twists, and even the familiar drinks feel elevated. It's the kind of place where you want to try something new every round because you trust the bartenders know exactly what they're doing. Service was on point too. Friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain drinks and made great recommendations, which made the whole experience even better. I came in not knowing what to expect, and left already planning my next visit. If you're in Uptown Whittier and looking for a spot with great energy, amazing cocktails, and a full vibe--The Vandalist is it. Thank me later

It felt family owned, super cozy, and the service was genuinely amazing from start to finish. We definitely over ordered (everything sounded too good ), but honestly... no regrets. Portions are huge and perfect for sharing, especially the soups...they were rich, flavorful, and came loaded with so many ingredients. Every dish had depth and tasted authentic, not watered down at all. They also brought out a few extra dishes for us to try, which was such a nice touch and made the experience feel really welcoming. The banchan (side dishes) kept coming and were all fresh and flavorful you can tell they put care into every part of the meal. And the fried rice? Easily one of the best I've had. My absolute favorite was the noodles with the black sauce (I think it's jajangmyeon?) savory, slightly sweet, and so satisfying. Overall, amazing food, generous portions, and standout service. This is the kind of spot you come back to again and again.

My friends and I came here because the reviews from other yelpers had been great. The portions were good and price also wasn't too bad for four adults and two kids. The gripe we have was the Service. Which is why I took off a star and a half. My husband is Korean so he was conversing with the waitress in Korean the whole time. And he told us that every time she came by there was some sassiness or attitude. And he felt like he couldn't eat the food and enjoy it the way he wanted to even though it's Korean food and he's Korean. And at the end, she apparently rushed us out because another big party was coming in while we hadn't exactly finished eating yet, so we took some of the food to go and left some food uneaten on the table. I was in ignorance bliss because I didn't understand what they were saying but he usually doesn't get annoyed by these types of interactions but just be aware! It's a small place maybe eight tables. The bathroom is way in the back and it's not air condition but clean. I think I would still come back though because the food was really good to me and I really liked that bone broth and the spread of the side dishes. Maybe next time we just won't come on a weekend or peak hours or something. We did get seated really quickly probably bc we came right around opening time which was 11 AM on a Saturday, and it was also a holiday weekend.

So this is more of a order a go spot, if they don't have enough chairs. It's clean and did smell like baked goods when you come in. The decoration is cute also. I didn't know what to order and so I ordered a Dacquiose with cream and strawberry jam since I've never had one before. The owner described it as a mix of a macaron and cream puff. It was an accurate description. Definitely great texture. Just a little too much cream for my taste due to the sweetness. It was like a butter like cream, and it was sweet. I also got their chocolate chip cookie which was thick. It tasted very similar to a scone and not really like a buttery, crunchy/chewy texture of chocolate chip cookie that I like. A bit bummed that neither dessert wasn't something I liked. Also they don't have any drinks, which is also a bummer because milk or coffee would have gone great with the desserts. I'll probably come back and try something different, but for now either of what I tried really hit. However it's still worthy checking it out, because it might not have been my kind of taste of baked good, but could be for someone else.

They are pretty hefty sandwiches, and they do use quality ingredients. Even the bread is really good. I also ended up getting a cookie on some other pastry, which was also really good. The cookie that they had was super thin and just delightful. The person behind the counter answered my questions about the pastries and gave his good advice on which ones were really good and he did not disappoint, and overall it seems like the people were friendly. The store is small and there are some tables inside very clean. Very cute. A bunch of tables outside as well and it looks like it is a popular spot because when I got there, there was a line but once I found parking and walked there there was no line. It does take some time so it's not super fast. And if you don't like to parallel park, you're gonna have to learn here. I don't live in the area, so I'm sad that I won't be able to eat at this place more often. However, if I am even remotely close, I'll probably stop by.
