Michael did a great job of going over what to expect. He did a great job during the dive as I originally struggled a bit, mostly due my long layoff from diving and the current. However he kept me calm and I improved my technique during the dive, I was use to drift dives. I was originally scheduled for a 2nd dive but we spent 55 minutes on the 1st dive, more than I expected. I didn't expect that length of time or that heavy of a current. Scuba Shack refunded the cost of the 2nd dive. It turned out 1 dive was perfect amount of time and we saw lots of fish, juvenile rays and even a turtle.

We were 4 snorkelers with 6 divers. We had to be at the marina at 5:20am and the early start was worth it. We were the 1st boat out to Molokini. We got to watch the sunrise while the scuba divers got ready. Capt Charlie was the over watch for us snorkelers and he gave us very clear instructions on where to go and how far away from the boat we were allowed to wander. Next stop was Turtle town, we only saw one turtle but still enjoyed an hour snorkeling around. The staff was great and the snorkeling was fun. We went back in to Scuba Shack a couple of times and every time they gave us great suggestions on places to eat that didn't disappoint.

Five stars for the whole experience and that's even with the mild freakout I had on day two of my…read moreocean dives. I ended up only completing the scuba diver certification, not the open water, but big shout out to Dive Wailea for making my overall experience so fun. I really appreciated Michael and Nick, how patient and calm both were which ultimately made me feel safe. I couldn't get out of my own head on day two so I'm glad I called it off. We will see if I end up getting OW certified. If I do, I'd like to come back to Dive Wailea!

I sincerely trust my safety and well-being with Michael, so much so that I had my significant other certified with him for both her beginner and advanced as well. Captain Ben was professional, calm, well spoken, and kind. Joe was energetic, logical, and a great dive master. Don had a great personality, very friendly and hospitable (he constantly offers yummy treats like banana bread with chocolate chips and nuts!!). And Bryan was super friendly. He made conversation with me about all the coolest wreck dives and encouraged me to keep diving to overcome my fears. Be was great! The dive I went on yesterday was to Molokini Crater! We saw tons of reef sharks - most were juvenile so it was neat to see them in so many different sizes. Some were alone and others traveled in packs of 5 or 6. So neat! We also saw a spotted eagle Ray, spongy crab, tons of eel, lots of colorful fishies, and beautiful coral reef. It was a spectacular dive!

As promised, he found an octopus and put on a show with it (humanely, of course). We saw tons of tropical fish too. The scooters themselves are an absolute blast. They're the most fun thing I've ever done in the water. This is our second time doing an e-scooter tour and we highly recommend this place. We had plenty of time to scoot around on our own in pairs, too.

If you only do one thing on the ocean in Maui, do the Zephyr kayak + snorkeling "whale watch"…read moretour!! We've been to other snorkeling in Maui, and this was the BEST experience ever. We were swimming with SO. MANY. TURTLES. (Apparently if you go in the winter season, you'd see a lot of whales!)! I know there are other "turtle town spots around the island, and we've been to a "turtle town". But the sheer amount of turtles you will see here is unparalleled. Our guides Derek and Robbie were awesome: 1. They took so many photos of us - diving under waters to capture the turtles and us, took 200+ photos and 40 videos and was constantly in the water looking out for turtles. 2. They are also such great swimmers and made me feel at ease given that I'm fairly new to snorkeling. At some point I lost one of my fins and started panicking, but Derek swiftly recovered the lost fin! We also capsized at some point, but with Robbie's calm instructions, we quickly made it back to the kayak. Whew! 3. We also heard several interesting stories and facts about the history of the islands around. Overall, this is absolutely a can-not-miss tour in Maui and we can't wait to be back for the whale season!
