We even called last night and were assured the captain wouldn't take us out IF the seas were too rough. Guess what. July 28th, 2026 the seas were too rough for this to be enjoyable!!! Multiple people puked. We wanted to switch days to Saturday, but were told we couldn't because it was within the 24 hour cancelation window, but we were given the assurance the captain wouldn't take us out if it was poor conditions. He did. He did!! We all knew it was too rough. We have eyes and read the report. We sailed to Molikini and we could not go in. As we knew!! Then he took us to turtle town. I feel like it was a money grab when the seas are rough and there are hurricane warnings...it should be an allowable reason to postpone to an alternate date. You could keep our money and let us go Saturday. Geez..What an utter shame. Murkey waters. No visibility. I'll book with another boat if we ever do it again. One that values the experience and safety. Pray my husband's sea sickness goes away soon. EDIT: Here's something important to note. If the water conditions aren't safe or if the weather makes the water murkey the experienced captain will cancel. I know that is stressful, but he wants us safe and to have the experience of a lifetime. THAT IS WHAT WE WERE TOLD, BUT IS NOT THE CASE.

The ride to the crater was very smooth and they were both very friendly. Mikey made sure to explain everything to us so that there would be no confusion or incidents. Getting to watch dolphins are not always guaranteed, but I'm glad that Mikey and Angela took a chance for us to have the opportunity to see them. Both of our guides made sure that everyone was safe and most importantly, enjoyed our experience at Molokini Crater with them! Thank you Mikey and Angela!

From the moment we stepped on the boat, their energy was amazing, friendly, fun, and so welcoming. They created such a great vibe that everyone immediately felt relaxed and excited for the adventure. We brought a whole crew of kids with us, and at every moment we felt completely safe and taken care of. Angel and Rachel were attentive, patient, and always made sure everyone was comfortable and ready to explore. It gave us so much peace of mind as parents, which allowed us to truly enjoy the experience. They knew all the best snorkel spots and made the day feel special and personalized. More than anything, they treated us like family. It didn't feel like just a tour, it felt like we were out on the water with friends. We cannot recommend these ladies enough. If you're thinking about booking, do it! We're already counting down the days until we can come back next year.

I chose this particular tour because it was a smaller group size and I did not want to feel crowded or overwhelmed on a boat with strangers. It was the perfect amount of people, and my husband and I ended up chatting with most of the other passengers, having lots in common. Our captain was Caiden, who was extremely kind, informative, and entertaining. We also had crewmates Sienna, Diego, and Jim looking out for us and making sure that we were comfortable and had all of our wants and needs met. I felt completely safe and comfortable the entire trip and I appreciated having a certified lifeguard on boat with us. The snorkeling experience was phenomenal and being pregnant, it made me feel so calm and relaxed. I appreciated learning the history of the two various locations we snorkeled at and the opportunity to see a sea turtle. The ship itself was pristine, and the restrooms were some of the cleanest I have ever experienced on a boat. The breakfast and lunch that they served us was tasty, and the macadamia nut cookies at the end were the perfect sweet treat. I appreciated that they were able to offer me mocktails since I cannot drink at this time, and those were tasty as well. This experience was worth every penny and I would definitely come back and do it again.

Incredible hospitality by the staff and well worth the price. Lunch was great with pulled pork sandwiches or giant hotdogs and the open bar on the way home is a great way to finish the day. Highly suggest taking a fun trip on the Leilani. Smaller boat with less passengers then some of the others. Great boat, great crew! Aloha.

My husband and I joined the Leilani for a snorkel trip and had a mixed reaction to it…read more The good: the price was a great value, the crew was friendly and caring, the smaller sized group was better (in our opinion) than some of the larger vessels, there were no kids or heavy drinkers (big plus for us but don't know if that's always the case), and we did in fact see some beautiful turtles, coral reefs, and fish. Food, beverages, and sunscreen provided were very nice, as well! The bad: if you are a man with any facial hair the snorkel mask will leak and be a nuisance during your time in the water (they have no alternatives and this is an ongoing problem for them), we couldn't make it to Molokini because of high winds (not their fault) and the second of the two places they took us to as an alternative was very lacking in sea life (that was a disappointment but again, not entirely their fault), they charge $10 bucks per wetsuit top which drained our cash for tip, and the smaller size vessel was more susceptible to rocking and made several people on board very ill. This rating is mostly based on an overall feeling we had from the trip and not necessarily the fault of the crew, but management needs to get on board with other options for men with facial hair (over 50% of the guys on board) for sure and also give a heads up about cash payments for the wetsuit tops so the crew doesn't lose tip money.

They are fantastic. We found the Dolphin Watch Sail Deluxe which was perfect. And there were dolphins! Literally hundreds of spinner dolphins all over the place just offshore. What a treat. The kids were thrilled. The first thing the captain when he saw them was called all the kids up to the (trampoline) on the front so that they could see the dolphins underneath. The kids were so excited. It was amazing. The boat was spacious for the number of people we had on the tour. Maybe 30? Just a guess. There were lots of seats indoors and outdoors, and people tended to move around quite a bit. The staff were wonderful. They told us about the animals that we saw: spinner, dolphins, green sea turtles, and monk seals. There was also a photographer who took pictures of family groupings. They weren't cheap, $90, but she took so many of our family. It was totally worth it. They served lunch, snacks, and drinks. My only suggestion is that it might be worth a thought for them to eliminate the lunch entirely. There was nothing wrong with it. Pork sandwiches and salad were great, but I just don't see how it's necessary given that the tour left at 1:30. That seemed to keep the staff pretty busy and maybe needlessly? I don't know if it would be worth reducing the price by just a small amount and eliminating that because I'm not sure if it's that much of a draw. It was absolutely perfect. We all loved it! Highest recommendation!

However, if my Mom is going to go snorkeling, what would I look like backing out? We got our snorkel gear on, and I made my Dad jump in first to make sure there were no apex predators waiting to swoop the first thing that came off the boat. Once I saw him chilling there for about 30 seconds, I jumped in hella nonchalant. But when my 5'10.5 176 lb orangutan-like frame submerged in the water, I went straight into fight or flight. When you looked at the ocean floor below, you could see a submerged cliff that dropped straight down. All you could see was the vicious, unknown, and unforgiving deep blue. The most unsettling feeling I have ever had. What is down there? What is coming for me? I'm just floating here like a sitting duck? HELL NAH! I closed my eyes and made a beeline STRAIGHT for the shore about 40 yards away, where there were 30+ other tourists snorkeling peacefully. Once I made sure there were at least 5 other people a shark would take out first, my heart rate started to stabilize. I began to appreciate the bustling life in this crescent shaped volcanic crater that is a protected marine life conservation district. I saw 100s of fish that I didn't know existed. When the rest of my family and local Hawaiian tour guide, Bailey, caught up with us, I began PEPPERING him with questions. 'What fish is that? How about that one? Why is it named trigger fish? What's the coolest thing you've ever seen here? Does it get old doing the same tour over and over again?" Bro HAD to be so annoyed with me, but I just couldn't help it. He was so passionate, engaging, and knowledgeable. Shoutout to Bailey. My favorite fish I saw was this vibrant, multicolored fish that genuinely looked fake. It looked just like that Rainbow Fish from that book. I followed it around for 10 minutes, and asked Bailey what type of fish it was. "That's a Parrot Fish! It actually is one of the few fish that can change its gender as a part of its natural life cycle. They also eat algae off of rocks that smother and kill coral reefs, and then they poop fine sand which is a major reason for many tropical beaches." I asked if Parrot Fish tasted good and he said "OH YEAH... well they are a bit of an acquired taste, but I love them." Bro is an encyclopedia. I arrived at Molokini Island scared to death of the deep blue, and also left the same way, but with a good amount of knowledge on Parrot Fish. This is what life is all about...
