    Snorkeling at Molokini
    S P.

We booked the 930-1130 snorkeling trip to Molokini since our other snorkeling trip got cancelled on us without letting us know until we showed up at the dock. It was a smaller boat but the captain was very laidback and had some corny jokes that were pretty funny. He was truthful about the snorkeling situation and gave everyone the option to opt out since the visibility wasn't as good as it should be. His crew mate was excellent at trying to find us a good snorkeling spot. We still had a wonderful time! Would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful snorkeling, so worth it, despite what I read online about it being overrated - no way. Whole different experience to even the best other snorkel spots on Maui. Redline were great, Tim was our guide and very knowledgeable and good fun. Boat ride was exhilarating - hang on tight, even on the way back! Highly recommend Molokini & Redline.

We had an amazing 1.5 hour whale watching tour! The captains were extremely knowledgeable and knew the best spots to find whales. Overall one of the most enjoyable boating experiences on Maui! Highly recommend.

Great trip! The two Nicks were very professional with great humor. The ride to and fro was smooth and fast but the mooring then snorkeling was spectacular. Def recommend this trip and these two young men taking you. Mahalo!

Super fun and definitely worth the money. The tour guides were chill and helpful. Snorkeling was amazing, the fish and coral were out of this world

Captain Chase and Ally were amazing. A MUST for your next Maui vacation. Dad jokes, geology lessons, and swimming with the sea turtles. What more can you ask for???

Ready for Molokini! She liked their snorkel gear better than the one I bought her.

Ask the Community - Redline Rafting

Do they serve food on the 7 or 9am whale watching tour?

On the boat I went on there was not an option to eat food. It's a small boat plus it is only an hour and a half BUT I can tell you this smaller boat was able to move quickly to get close to any whale action. You can eat when you get off. I highly…

How long is the whale watching tour?

Check the website and do your homework. Whale watching is specific to certain times of year. We were there for the snorkeling adventure.

How long is the snorkeling tour?

I believe it began around 7-730 and ended around 1130-12pm for us.

Would you recommend this trip for non-swimmer?

Yes I would. There was an adult that never swam before and they gave her a vest and floaty belts and supervised her.

Is there a bathroom on the boat? I read on their website that there is a bathroom on the boat (it's small but "serves its purpose") but when I called the person I spoke with said no but she sounded unsure.

No bathrooms, but don't be shy about peeing in your wetsuit!

They allow kids less than 8?

According to the're web site no children under 8. you can call 808-427-3123

They seemed to have everything we wanted to honor my Mom. After speaking with Charlie I knew this was the right company. We got everything setup and he was able to refer me to a videographer which was awesome. We got the date set and also a backup should the weather be bad. The day came and we went to where he had sent us a pin. We got there a they were preparing the outrigger canoe. We went through safety stuff and how we were going to paddle out. We then met Vicente the Hawaiian spiritual leader of our journey to honor my Mom. We had a beautiful ceremony on the beach to start the ceremony. We then go get the outrigger off the shore which was cool. We then paddled out and had another beautiful ceremony on the water where we spread her ashes. We then paddled back and it was incredible. It was a perfect way to honor my Mom. I can never say enough nice things about Charlie and Vicente. They were incredible. We even called last night and were assured the captain wouldn't take us out IF the seas were too rough. Guess what. July 28th, 2026 the seas were too rough for this to be enjoyable!!! Multiple people puked. We wanted to switch days to Saturday, but were told we couldn't because it was within the 24 hour cancelation window, but we were given the assurance the captain wouldn't take us out if it was poor conditions. He did. He did!! We all knew it was too rough. We have eyes and read the report. We sailed to Molikini and we could not go in. As we knew!! Then he took us to turtle town. I feel like it was a money grab when the seas are rough and there are hurricane warnings...it should be an allowable reason to postpone to an alternate date. One that values the experience and safety. Pray my husband's sea sickness goes away soon. EDIT: Here's something important to note. If the water conditions aren't safe or if the weather makes the water murkey the experienced captain will cancel. They are fantastic. We found the Dolphin Watch Sail Deluxe which was perfect. And there were dolphins! Literally hundreds of spinner dolphins all over the place just offshore. What a treat. The kids were thrilled. The first thing the captain when he saw them was called all the kids up to the (trampoline) on the front so that they could see the dolphins underneath. The kids were so excited. It was amazing. The boat was spacious for the number of people we had on the tour. Maybe 30? Just a guess. There were lots of seats indoors and outdoors, and people tended to move around quite a bit. The staff were wonderful. They told us about the animals that we saw: spinner, dolphins, green sea turtles, and monk seals. There was also a photographer who took pictures of family groupings. They weren't cheap, $90, but she took so many of our family. It was totally worth it. They served lunch, snacks, and drinks. My only suggestion is that it might be worth a thought for them to eliminate the lunch entirely. There was nothing wrong with it. Pork sandwiches and salad were great, but I just don't see how it's necessary given that the tour left at 1:30. That seemed to keep the staff pretty busy and maybe needlessly? I don't know if it would be worth reducing the price by just a small amount and eliminating that because I'm not sure if it's that much of a draw. It was absolutely perfect. We all loved it! If you are looking for an intimate, high-quality whale watching experience, look no further. The Boat The vessel is fantastic. It's an inflatable-style boat, but don't let that fool you--it was incredibly stable on the water. It seats about 20 people, so it feels personalized rather than crowded. Most of the seats are shaded, which was a huge plus for staying comfortable in the sun while we scanned the horizon. The Crew A massive shout-out to our captain and naturalist Levi & Travis! They were the perfect duo: Safety-First: We felt totally secure and well-cared for the entire time. Informative & Funny: We learned so much about whale behavior, and their humor kept the energy high and the vibes great. Genuine Kindness: You can tell they truly love what they do. The Whales The wildlife did not disappoint! Since we went out in the morning, the water was beautiful, and we saw so many whales. We spent the entire trip watching them breach and splash around. It was a non-stop show of tail flukes and massive splashes. Thank you, Makai Adventures, for such an awesome and unforgettable adventure. We will definitely be back!
