Wow let me tell you that today was our first time going to this location. It was recommended by friends of our to try it out and I had a battle choosing between these Island style noodles and the chicken Adobe so I went with the noodle dish. The Staff was super awesome and I placed my order and I felt like we didn't sit long to get our orders. We got our orders and the food smelled delicious and awesome so we dug in. I loved the little cucumber salad it was like a pallett cleanser and the little mac salad was pretty good as well. The sauce for the noodles was just super awesome and I ordered chicken as my protein and was cooked to perfection and the noodles didn't seem over or under done. small location: I assume this is a family owed place simply because the staff was just chilled and very friendly with everyone, making it obvious that they care about customer satisfaction. This place has a super chill vibe, makes you feel like your at Tia's house having a home cooked meal. Food was delicious: my least favorite was the Tropical Macaroni Salad but thats simply because of personal taste, as I dislike macaroni. Having said that, even with my personal dislike of macaroni I did eat 1/2 of the portion given. Regarding portions, for me personally the portions were more than enough. Stopped here on a road trip for lunch! Place was pretty empty and filled up as we ate. Food was hot and fresh! They have a variety of hot sauces for the food - all of them delicious! We came here while passing through Spokane to get a quick lunch. We came with a big group mid day on a Friday and were able to sit together. There was also plenty of parking at the location. The staff was very friendly and happy to help us with any questions we had. Overall the food wasn't bad, but I thought it could be a bit better. The service was great and the staff was friendly. I had the beef island noodles with medium spice which was perfect to me, could have done without the green peppers but that is just me. The macaroni salad along with the cucumber salad were great sides to the dish. I tried some of my wife's lechon kawali and it was tasty to me, my wife would have liked it a bit crispier but she was satisfied none the less. I would rate this two stars but I want to give them grace because of restaurant week. We came in, not a lot of people. Very open restaurant, welcoming. The red rice that came with the ribs was just gross. My sister got the Lechob Kawali, which was SO DRY. It was basically fried pork on rice. No sauce or anything. She tried using the complimentary sauce but none of them really worked in her opinion. I also got the beef noodles, yakisoba, with low spice because my kids were eating it. It was horrible!!! So so so sweet. Like did the use sugar instead of salt? I was shocked. Their Mac salad was not very good either. The cucumbers were yummy. Their cake fries were delicious. My sister got the one ice cream and she usually loves ube but ended up throwing it away because it didn't taste good. Overall, everything was just way too sweet. It's honestly SUCH a surprise to find quality asian food in Spokane! I had a pretty hard time finding anything good when I moved here last year, but Island Style will definitely be a new go-to for me! A standard Mac salad that had sliced apple and pineapple. Delicious. 3 people in our group had the Kahlbi ribs and they said they were great. They also have a coconut pita like bread that was unique and very good. I loved that their sauce bar explains what each one is. I especially liked the banana ketchup on the Pancit. I have always found Hawaiian/Filipino food to be excellent in Washington state and I was not disappointed. The cashier was lovely and helpful. I ordered the island noodles. This was so tasty! We got there 2 minutes before they opened and there was already a line. I ordered the pork belly with garlic rice and it comes with a hearty portion. I was able to eat two meals on it. The pork belly was moist and flavorful and the cucumber salad added a nice clean flavor. The macaroni gave a nice creaminess but the garlic rice was fantastic. They also serve condiments on the side that you can add which add sweet, spicy and salty additions. My husband ordered the Filipino barbecue pork skewers and he thought they were really good. They were well seasoned but a little dry. We also ordered a side of lumpia which were great. They were freshly fried so they were very crisp but had mild flavor. You get three in a serving for $6 so a little pricey considering they're very small. The inside was very clean and modern. Everything was very nice and comfortable.
