My husband and I visited Moon's for the first time last night. We are long-time lover's of Mongolian Grill food and have frequented several different restaurants from Chang's in the Portland, Oregon area to small Mom and Pop shops around Seattle and Spokane. Moon's is by far the best of the best! Their food is fresh and the bar is well-stocked and cared for. Their meat selection if fabulous and diverse. We found lamb, salmon, cod and even Bratwurst along side the standard beef, pork and chicken. They even had bacon! There was lots of variety of veggies and noodles. They even had sweet potato and Gluten-free noodles. The chef was great and everyone was very friendly. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. This is our new favorite, and we will be back! read more

If you know what you are doing, and know what you like, this food does not disappoint. I've been here several times, ingredients are fresh, the protein is abundant, including meats, tofu, fish, shellfish, etc. I come here hungry because there's plenty to eat. Even when it's busy, the cooks are quick and they get your food to you quickly. Cooked to perfection. The restaurant is quiet and comfortable. Put whatever you want on your plate and the quantity that you want. From protein, to vegetables, sauces, oil, spicy oil, garlic, ginger, etc. you can add peanuts and crunchy morsels. Went in for an early lunch with my service dog. Hostess asked if my dog was a service dog. I replied yes and her reply was "we don't usually allow," then proceeded to ask if "I had paper." I said I do but you're legally not allowed to ask for documentation. "No, you need paper!" I simply said that she needed to review the law. Businesses can legally ask two questions: Is your dog a service dog? What task does your dog provide to you? No skin off my nose as there are plenty else places to go but again, business should become familiar with the law. If I was a local, I would file a DOJ complaint. If you are a local with a service dog - here's a business wanting a law suit from you. If you have a service dog, don't bother. read more

I came in during dinner hours with my boyfriend, and the restaurant was completely empty. I picked out my ingredients and went up to the chef to have him cook them, but he was incredibly rude to me. After that interaction, I felt so uncomfortable that I had my boyfriend pick up my food when it was ready, and I didn't even want to go back for a second plate. On top of that, the lady refilling drinks came to our table every two minutes, even when we didn't need a refill. I will never come back to this restaurant. read more

Moon's has been our family's favorite since it opened in the 90's! Great service, we especially love our server Mi. She has worked there 26 years and is always friendly and helpful. We love this place. It's our go to when we want to consume mass quantities. The restaurant is extremely dated in its decor but that does not detract from the quality of the food. They put their effort into offering great fresh veg, a wide selection of shaved & frozen meats. The cooks are really efficient and the grill is laser hot just like a Mongolian grill should be. In the African American community, when a dish is prepared to perfection, someone is said to have "put their foot in it". I would give todays dinner 3.5 feet. So when I rate a dish or food and it is good, I will give it a foot rating. Mongolian grill is wonderful. The selection, if it is a good one, has at least 3-4 selections of meat, 2-3 seafood options. And a multitude of vegetables outside of the typical "American " veggies you would see on a salad bar. There are seasoning ingredients: olivand chili oil, ginger, soy sauce, red wine, lemon and lime juice, -there are many others. Three types of noodles to choose from and all must fit in a single bowl. The Weber's are very unassuming and are quick to get you seated. The place is not overly decorated and you can watch the chef's prepare your selections. I asked for plum sauce and sweet chili sauce to be added to mine. I also threw in some jalapeños and Sriracha sauce for heat. It was every bit as good as I remembered. When you go, be adventurous and know that it all comes out delicious. Now I had the food to go and they charge by the pound. Cheaper to eat it there and indulge in the all you can eat. With the price of the food, they could stand not to be so stingy on the plum and Hoisin sauce, but you can add peanuts, Sriracha sauce, salt, pepper, crunchy noodles, and a few other toppings. read more

Actually surprise this place is pretty good. Sure the ambience isn't five star definitely but the food was good. Friendly service she always made sure our waters are full and we have everything we need. Can't beat the price for unlimited buffet. Been going here for years since I grew up in the neighborhood. The best time to come is at lunch, especially if you've never eaten here and aren't sure if you'll like it or not. It's way cheaper to eat at this time. The downside to that though is that they don't offer all of the meats at lunch, but for me that's okay because they have what I like at lunch! They have such a low turnover rate here, some of the employees have worked here since the place opened. It's clean, the buffet can get a little messy, but I've always seen someone tending to it on every single visit. The food is delicious and make sure to ask the cook for an added sauce if thats what you want or make your own sauce from a combination of their offerings on the buffet. Make sure to keep an eye on your food too so you know which one is yours when they plate it! read more

Worst one we have tried in the area. The grill is crusty and un-cleaned. The cook placed the items in both our bowls on the grill right next to each other. Yes touching. Mine had completely different flavors than my husbands as it should. That is kinda the point of this place. Then the cook just left it there and let it burn while watched. Once it had burned he chopped it up to tiny pieces. When he was all done in the food just smelled nasty and tasted even worse. So I figured the guy screwed it up so I left the plate on the table and went back and tried it again. He did it again. But before he decided to screw up my food he looked at me and looked at my food and gave me a shity look. We will be headed back to top of China in Coeur d'Alene Idaho. At least there you get the Chinese buffet plus a Mongolian Grill. The cost per person for dinner time was $18.39 with a drink and tax. read more

I think I would've enjoyed my experience more if I didn't come about 30 mins before they closed. The restaurant itself was very clean and the staff were friendly and attentive. The food though, there was just something off about it. The rice had an off putting taste it to so I didn't eat more than two bites. The teriyaki sauce used while it was being cooked was so overwhelming that I couldn't taste the ginger or chili oil that I added to it. If I'm being completely honest, the rice noodles and green bell peppers were the best things on my plate. Giving 3 stars for cleanliness and good service. read more

Mongolian grill is one of our family's favorite type restaurants so we stopped in. We had been here 15 years ago and remember it being good. The selection of meats and veggies were good and all looked great until we got to the grill. The cook just put on it on there and did not stir it once! He did chop the meat and then would move on to the next pile, not one person had theirs stirred. We have been to many Mongolian grills in multiple states and watch the cooks walk around three grill turning the food as it cooks. The end result was everything on the bottom was burnt to a crisp. Hated to waste food but 3 of us had to redo the meal entirely. And the others just had that wet burned flavor. read more

This was my first visit to a Mongolian Grill, so I wasn't prepared for the "design your own recipe" concept of piling a bunch of food in a bowl and handing it to someone grill it for you. There are so many choices of sauces, vegetables, meats and noodles to choose from. Some people were piling their bowls so high that food was falling all over the floor and the food bar, which trashes the food area. I just put what looked good in my bowl and chose about 6 different sauces to add to the bowl. After the cook throws your bowl on a grill with around 10 or so other bowls, things end up on your plate that you didn't put in your bowl. Not cool. My food ending up tasting great because I chose a great combination of sauces and vegetables. W's plate was boring and blah because he has no idea how to combine sauces. He didn't much like his food. This is a weird concept to me because you're probably not going to love your food if you don't know how to combine all the sauces. They do have a guide with instructions for combining the sauces to make different styles of sauces, but the place was crowded and I didn't want to hover at the sauce side of the bar reading and measuring sauce recipes. When I was finished making my bowl, it felt a little too much like cooking my own dinner. I went out to dinner to avoid that. Anyway, if you're lucky and/or a good cook, you will probably end up with a great plate of food. I did think the food area seemed grimy. It seems to me that someone should clean the area below the grill frequently, since there was so much food all around it. The peanut and crunchy noodle bowls were either dirty or needed to be replaced. The restaurant is comfortable and nice, but I would rather go to a Chinese restaurant where they make my dinner for me. read more

This restaurant is not visible on Division, but has a bar and all you can eat Mongolian style services. That said the service was good but the prices were much too high for value, even as an all you can eat type. Fifty bucks for an assortment of thin meats and veggies is a high cost for this meal and drinks and other associated appetizers are all extra. All in all food was good but cost prevents us a return any time soon. You can go to any number of other top restaurants and get MORE for your buck read more

Made my first bowl using a recommended mix of sauces and a small mix of meats and veggies. First plate ended up bland and the veggies were very undercooked. I accounted the taste to me being unfamiliar with their sauces and amounts to use. As for the veggies, I just wish they had been cooked longer. So after completing my first plate, I knew I could make improvements. But I paid for the buffet, trial and error is the usual. For my 2nd plate, I saw the sign above the bowls asking for customers to limit themselves to one bowl at a time. I asked the cook if it was acceptable to use 2 to separate my meat/noodles from the veggies, which he agreed to. So after adding extra amounts of sauce to help the flavor, I asked the chef to cook the veggies first and to leave them on the grill for AT LEAST 2-3 minutes BEFORE cooking the meat/noodles. The cook nodded, put the veggies on and immediately after put the noodles/meat on. The taste of the 2nd plate was a lot better, though the texture of the beef was very stringy. But having undercooked veggies (when I very specifically asked for them to be cooked first and was ignored) for a 2nd plate in a row left me not finishing my plate and not going back for any more. 1 star for the food (it was acceptable and I believe that after getting recipes down it would be good), 1 star for the service (the waitress was pleasant); but 2 bad dishes in a row, having requests disregarded, and the cleanliness of the restaurant (dust, dirty tables, hood vents, vents to the restaurant very dusty) leaves 2 stars. read more

For a Mongolian Grill, the choices were pretty good. The veggies and meats seemed fresh and a nice variety for the cost. Also had the standard choices for sauce between the oils, waters, etc. to build your own. In this regard it was a good deal for lunch, for me. My wife, on the other hand, doesn't really like the grill because she doesn't usually eat enough to spend for an all-you-can-eat. So she wanted to try one of their stand-alone plates and tried the Mongolian Beef. What she got was not Mongolian Beef, not even the variety of Americanized ways I've had it done. It was a beef stir fried veggie dish (just a sampling of most veggies available in the grill selection) and soy sauce. It was inedible. A lot of other folks eating there and they all seemed to enjoy. So this fits some tastes but not ours. The premade sauce choices for the grill was laughable. They were just premade, store bought jug sauces that were pored onto the customer's choices when their bowl was emptied onto the grill. Just not for us. The place was, mostly, clean and the service was slow but very hard workers and friendly. read more

I love Moons food anf the fact that one of their noodles is a rice noodle which is so much easier for me to eat. I have only been thru the all you can eat one time, which to me a gastric bypass patient isn't worth it but every few weeks i go in and do a togo plate which is awesome! I would have given 5 stars of they were open a little later. A few times I've been there where they are closed or kitchen already closed. But all in all three good choices are great and watching them cook on the grill is fun to watch as well. read more

This is a simple Mongolian BBQ. Lots of veggies, make your own sauce, and return for seconds. No frills. Clean. Bar attached where group of senior citizens were having fun playing poker or something like that. Went to Moons Mongolian grill on Division, last evening for the first and last time. I have never seen such a nasty place in all of my days on earth. The grill guy was working on the most disgusting and dirty grill top. Goober globs of oily debris was dripping off onto the floor the only thing that saved me from being sicker than I am was, the "food" was blazingly hot; killing most of the salmonella or greasy infectious sludge contained in the nasty conglomerate. If that sounds disgusting, then you should feel the gaseous, nauseous, pangs of pain I am feeling right now. Why I even put any of that nasty "food" into my mouth, was a mistake I will have to suffer with for the next few days. ... WARNING *** NEVER EAT AT MOONS MONGOLIAN GRILL! !!! read more

It's hard to believe that I lived in Spokane for a month without eating Mongolian, hands-down my favorite cuisine. We went for a late lunch. The waitress came out & seated us a few minutes after we arrived. She asked if we were having the special, and we asked what that was. She said it was all-you-can-eat Mongolian with a bowl of rice, so we said that was what we were having. My husband ordered the white rice, while I got the fried rice. For lunch, they have chicken, pork, beef, krab, & cod available. There are many fresh vegetables available, and 3 kinds of noodles - udon-style, ramen-style, & shirataki-style. Every container was well-stocked with fresh-looking food. There was a wide selection of sauces available, plus a list of additional sauces you could request. I had 2 plates of food cooked at different times by 2 different cooks; both times my food came back burned. The fried rice was not flavorful & greasy, so I only had one bite of it. I read on the menu that I could've had egg flower soup instead of rice for the special, so maybe next time I will try that. Despite my food being burned, I enjoyed all the fresh vegetables so I will probably come back for another lunch sometime. They serve a wider selection of meat at dinner for an increased cost, but I was satisfied with what was available for lunch. read more

I would rate this place as just "Okay", sort of the Sharis of Mongolian Grills. We came in at 8:30pm on a Tuesday night, and we were the only diners in the whole place. I know it was past dinner hour, but geez, that is always a bad sign. It started out encouraging: There was plentiful beef, chicken and lamb stocked. There were also lots of fresh veggies to choose from. Unfortunately, there were no rice noodles or tofu, which I can overlook. What I can't overlook is the lack of sauces. You can have all the meat and veggies in the world, but without anything decent to flavor them with, it's pointless. Unless you like salt, then you'll love it. "Salty" seems to be the only available flavor. I think the prices are too high. 1 adult meal, 1 child meal and 2 sodas was $30 plus tip. We could have gone to a nice Chinese restaurant and had leftovers for the next day for $30. If you want excellent Mongolian, make the trip to HuHot in the valley. They have excellent service, great appetizers and amazing sauces. Sorry, Moons, we won't be back. read more

This place is decent. I won't say it's great nor will i say it's bad. It's just that I am used to much fancier (for lack of a better word) Mongolian grills. The meat choices here are decent, I stuck to chicken. They do not have tofu! The vegetable options are decent, they even have baby bok choy! Noodles - oh my! They have two different types which is nice for people who have a gluten intolerance like one of my guests, but they are lacking descriptions with the two different noodle choices they have! Their flour noodles were a little too overcooked. Soggy noodles are not good! Sauce selections are fair, but their lemon was SUPER strong as it overpowered my finished dish with not even a whole scoop for the whole bowl. A nice touch they have is additional sauces near the grill. One of the cooks asked me if I'd like some poured on while it was cooking, another cook didn't. Oh! Don't think you'll be forgotten about when you need refills...the waitress must have refilled my guests glass 4 or 5 times AFTER he said he didn't need anymore, BUT better than no attention at all! :) read more
