She was immediately able to answer my questions regarding the dreaded stop / start issue and an oil additive the dealer recommends. That settled she wrote up in invoice to include my preference regarding the oil additive. She communicated with me through the course of the service, as a slight delay arose. When the car was finished servicing, Monique texted me. I called Joe, Servco's shuttle driver who promptly picked me for a return ride to the dealership. Upon arrival Monique went over the invoicing with me, all spot on. She retrieved my car, washed and ready to go. A 5 Star rating for Monique and Joe. Unfortunately, the promised email or phone call from the Parts dept. regarding parts for my older Toyota, never happened. Therefore, the overall 4-star rating.

I've worked with both Bryce and Travis who have been just completely over the top. They don't do their job just to do it, they actually sincerely care about not just your car, but you as well! At first they couldn't figure out what's wrong with my car, so Travis personally told me to call once my car acted up so they could immediately take care of it. It just so happened to be at 4:30 pm after I'm done with work and 30 minutes before they close. Luckily I got in touch with Travis and they actually made it down to my job to figure out what's wrong, which they did! I left my car with them over night and got to pick it up, fixed the next day! Honestly don't know what I would've done if it wasn't for Travis! I can't explain how awesome kamaaina motors have been from day one! I'd give them way more than 5 stars if I could!! A later inspection confirmed an internal oil leak and a CARFAX report showed the spark plugs were replaced five days before the sale, suggesting the issue was known. I later found that my Buyer's Order was not marked "AS IS", meaning the sale paperwork didn't meet the required disclosure standards. On top of that, the title and permanent registration were still not issued more than 60 days after the sale. After multiple written attempts to resolve this directly with management, I filed official complaints with: * The Hawaiʻi Office of Consumer Protection (OCP) * The DCCA Professional & Vocational Licensing Division (Motor Vehicle Industry Board) * The Better Business Bureau of Hawaiʻi (BBB) * And notified the Hawaiʻi County DMV Title Office If you're in a similar situation, here's what helped me (sharing for awareness, not legal advice): 1. Document everything -- buyer's order, CARFAX, inspection, payment, communications. 2. File a complaint with Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection (OCP). 3. Forward your case to the DCCA Motor Vehicle Industry Licensing Board. 4. Contact the County DMV if you haven't received your title after 60 days. 5. Keep all responses in writing. I'm sharing this so other local buyers know their options and can protect themselves under Hawaiʻi's consumer laws. After purchasing a vehicle from them, I experienced a complete transmission failure just 2.5 months later. There is absolutely no reason a transmission should fail that quickly, especially when you're told the vehicle is in good condition. This speaks to a serious lack of transparency regarding the actual state of the vehicles they are selling. What made the situation even worse was the poor communication between the service and sales managers when trying to use my extended warranty. I spent countless hours waiting for calls to be returned, and in many cases, those calls never came. As a customer, especially one who relies on my vehicle for work and to support my family living in a remote location, this lack of urgency and follow-through was incredibly frustrating. A simple courtesy like clear timelines for when the work will begin and be completed would go a long way. But even that was not provided. I do not recommend Aloha Kia Hilo. If you value honest communication and need a reliable vehicle with proper support behind it--especially as someone with responsibilities and people depending on you--look elsewhere.
