If you're having a hard time with your current car and you don't have the best credit don't waste your time. This dealership is not pono.

Pono's is a crook. If you buy from them, make sure to have a mechanic check out the vehicle before purchasing!

I've worked with both Bryce and Travis who have been just completely over the top. They don't do their job just to do it, they actually sincerely care about not just your car, but you as well! At first they couldn't figure out what's wrong with my car, so Travis personally told me to call once my car acted up so they could immediately take care of it. It just so happened to be at 4:30 pm after I'm done with work and 30 minutes before they close. Luckily I got in touch with Travis and they actually made it down to my job to figure out what's wrong, which they did! I left my car with them over night and got to pick it up, fixed the next day! Honestly don't know what I would've done if it wasn't for Travis! I can't explain how awesome kamaaina motors have been from day one! I'd give them way more than 5 stars if I could!! Happy to know that my car will always be in good hands.

They try to charge you a diagnostic without even doing the diagnostic on the car and wanted to charge me a second diagnostic for a plastic water reservoir . I was in the shop fir a new car but i will never buy from this rip off, disrespectful company. Btw. I bought a new truck from another dealer that treated me professionally and great courtesy.

I purchased a used 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport from Aloha Kia Hilo on July 10, 2025 for $13,011.04…read more Within days of driving it, I discovered mechanical problems that appeared to exist before the sale. A later inspection confirmed an internal oil leak and a CARFAX report showed the spark plugs were replaced five days before the sale, suggesting the issue was known. I later found that my Buyer's Order was not marked "AS IS", meaning the sale paperwork didn't meet the required disclosure standards. On top of that, the title and permanent registration were still not issued more than 60 days after the sale. After multiple written attempts to resolve this directly with management, I filed official complaints with: * The Hawaiʻi Office of Consumer Protection (OCP) * The DCCA Professional & Vocational Licensing Division (Motor Vehicle Industry Board) * The Better Business Bureau of Hawaiʻi (BBB) * And notified the Hawaiʻi County DMV Title Office If you're in a similar situation, here's what helped me (sharing for awareness, not legal advice): 1. Document everything -- buyer's order, CARFAX, inspection, payment, communications. 2. File a complaint with Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection (OCP). 3. Forward your case to the DCCA Motor Vehicle Industry Licensing Board. 4. Contact the County DMV if you haven't received your title after 60 days. 5. Keep all responses in writing. I'm sharing this so other local buyers know their options and can protect themselves under Hawaiʻi's consumer laws. My hope is that dealerships across the islands operate with more transparency and timely follow-through. (Attached photos: proof of certified complaint-- redacted for privacy.)

Unfortunately, my experience with Aloha Kia Hilo has been deeply disappointing and frustrating on multiple levels. After purchasing a vehicle from them, I experienced a complete transmission failure just 2.5 months later. There is absolutely no reason a transmission should fail that quickly, especially when you're told the vehicle is in good condition. This speaks to a serious lack of transparency regarding the actual state of the vehicles they are selling. What made the situation even worse was the poor communication between the service and sales managers when trying to use my extended warranty. I spent countless hours waiting for calls to be returned, and in many cases, those calls never came. As a customer, especially one who relies on my vehicle for work and to support my family living in a remote location, this lack of urgency and follow-through was incredibly frustrating. A simple courtesy like clear timelines for when the work will begin and be completed would go a long way. But even that was not provided. I do not recommend Aloha Kia Hilo. If you value honest communication and need a reliable vehicle with proper support behind it--especially as someone with responsibilities and people depending on you--look elsewhere.

I work so hard and really needed a reliable vehicle. I kept feeling super defeated getting turned down by every other car dealership. Deb at Credit Cars Hawaii did such an awesome job helping me out. She is heaven sent! I got approved in no time and was able to get a beautiful vehicle. Low miles and only one previous owner! I'm so happy with it. No problems at all so far. I am able to work a better schedule too now with my newer, reliable vehicle. It's been such a boost in overall self confidence and has relieved so much stress! It's up to you to do your research on the vehicle & see if it's the right one for you. Ask questions. Check it out. I think they allow you to bring an mechanic if needed? Not sure. But I highly recommend Credit Cars for anyone needing a vehicle. Mahalo Deb and Sonia!

Car died a few days later. They "replaced part" by swapping it out with an old model so it added 100k miles to the low mileage (the whole point of buying it) Covid hit and they marked us with a late payment in May 2020 even though we had exemptions from being laid off. We paid the car off in three months this place is literally BASURA. luckily my husband is friends with a mechanic and it was repaired enough to get our money back. Oh they smoke in their office so it reeks. You don't need $$ to be clean where's the money going for how much they rip people off.
