Mana and his team has walked us through every step of the way from his mobile showroom to the wonderfully clear product. Mana also told me to try and find pricing on his competitors...not even close and not to even sacrifice quality. Unfortunately, we had some busted screens during the process of the home construction, but Kawika (service bruddah) came out checked um, and when he was here I kept asking, what about this one and this one and this one too. I am writing this email in regards to the disappointment my wife and I have for a local company named Island Windows.  Prior to deciding on which window company to go with, we done our fair share of research but decided to support local along with a company that honored there serviceman having served myself.  Fast forward and our installation came.  Anthony and his team did a great job!  A week later with our new windows we noticed that all of our bedrooms except for 1 didn't have privacy glass. We excepted the mistake, waited for a replacement and it was fixed. Then, throughout the following months we noticed a stress crack on my kids room, along with one of the windows rails popping up on the side, and difficulty in raising our single hung windows which was occurring on a few of them. Preston must have came to our house at least 5 times within the past year or two in which I've had to take off numerous times from work. Preston just left and we are still not satisfied on how difficult it is to raise our single hung windows. He agrees that the quality isn't the way it should be. There are other windows in our home that slides like butter and locks perfectly but yet we still got a couple with issues. Another issue we just discovered is that some windows have the double lock and some have single locks. No big deal but where is the uniformity? I am pretty laid back and not a big fan of shaming companies with bad reviews but this is asking for one. Are you guys able to make this right? We can tell you right now that we are not waiting for another repair. We'll just deal with it and move on. House flooded last year and it messed up the frame and dry wall in the front of the house. We had to change out our windows. I search around and got quotes from a bunch of companies and found Island Windows and Doors to be the most reasonable. Kawika came out quickly in their mobile show room and went over all the details. So here we are another 6 weeks later and when I contacted Paul via Yelp messenging, he said he thought I was asking about repairs. I explained than when all the windows were installed, we were informed there was one broken that they would replace. Close to a year later, NOTHING. I gave a 5 star review. I can't figure out why they are so highly rated. I had a really bad experience. George is a nice guy, pretty hard to get a hold of once I paid for the windows though. Anthony that measured for the windows really pushed to measure them on a day I was in Maui for work and couldn't wait a day for me to be around. As a result, 2 windows do not open in the direction I want them to (my fault for not insisting on being there). I paid for 11 windows, but only received 10. One window is broken (see picture). They took 5 months instead of the 8-10 weeks I was quoted, the reason I chose them (at least the other window companies are honest and will tell you the windows will take 4-5 months). 3 windows are hard to open. 2 were measured incorrectly and are 3 1/2" too small, requiring reframing (what's the point of getting custom windows if you have to add structure just to use them, might as well have gone to Home Depot and picked them up instead of waiting 5 months). And finally Anthony really insisted on installing the windows during the recent Kona low when there was several inches of driving rain here on the Windward side, I was at least smart enough to turn him down and wait for a nicer day. Do yourself a favor and try elsewhere. If you do roll the dice with them, I hope you are a window expert, otherwise insist on being there for the window measurement and installation. read more

We hired Island Windows and Doors to supply windows and doors for our new build. It has been beyond frustrating to get them to respond to issues pertaining to our sliding glass doors, which were very wrong from the start.....I have never left a negative review, but we have literally waited weeks for there responses in regards to multiple issues throughout the process. 1) The one sliding door came with 2 different types of handles and would not close becasue they were bowed.....we asked them to repalce and they sent over a tech to "make it right" the doors ere still bowed and would not even close. We contacted them 9x (not exagerating), and took 3.5 months to have them replaced or create solution. They told us things like " Sorry we are really busy" . (This wasLast year time frame 2021) 2) Now after we moved in.....Our large door ($11k) is separating at the base and faulty. Again contacted them several times asking them for a solution. They said they will get back to us. We have contacted them via phone call and email 5x without a proper response. Finally Wednesday the 13th I wrote this email: Hi Island Windows and Doors Team, We have been very disappointed with the lack of follow up and care for us as customers. We will be elevating our pressure to receive at least an email/ call back. Here will be our steps to get the proper service. 1) We will be reviewing your business on Google/ Yelp and other platforms 2) Reporting this to DCCA/ BBB 3) Civil Suit I am writing this in hopes that we can avoid these steps and you can provide the needed attention to this matter.
