    Where I fished

Found this awesome place next to the Rio Grande. This RV park was very clean and easy parking. We didn't even need reservations. We just kept our trailer hooked up. They have water , sewage, and power on site . Also they have showers . There is also 3 fishing ponds there or mini lakes. I tried fishing for 2 days but couldn't catch anything. Still very relaxing though. ALSO IF FISHING , DO NOT BUY LICENSE FROM WALMART. You MUST buy fishing license at the gift shop that's on property due to it being on Indian land. It cost around $19 daily. Limit 5 fish if your lucky lol. Employees: Romona and Luz was awesome. Both SUPER friendly and helpful. Very sweet ladies. Thanks for being so nice. We definitely will be back if we're ever in New Mexico again!! I didn't want to leave haha

Great for catfishing! A little pricey and not very scenic around (mostly dirt). They keep the lakes stocked and is nice for a quick picnic lunch or feeding the geese.

We enjoyed a little staycation getaway at the Isleta Lakes RV park in November. The weather is still temperate in NM in early November, but chilly at night. The RV park has water and electric hookups so running the heater at night kept us cozy. There are individual gravel spaces (pull through) for each site with a picnic table. Nothing too fancy, just the conveniences. The two really nice features are the lakes and the casino. The Isleta lakes is a pleasant stocked fishing spot. I'm not a fisherman, but my husband enjoyed throwing his line in the lake and visiting with friends. I enjoyed the nature and walking around the two lakes (ponds). In October and November the lakes are filled with migrating birds. I enjoyed watching geese, ducks, cranes, an egret, and even an Eagle! The eagle had scored a trout and was enjoying its snack. Alongside the RV resort there is a small range of buffalo as well. There are sun covers, but they are pretty tall and not adjustable, I recommend bringing shade or sunscreen. There is a small store on site for fishing and convenience items. For the RV park there is also a laundry and shower facility. Ff you can't stay away from work, the wifi at the RV resort is pretty decent. The casino has gambling if that is your thing, shows, and good food at the Tewa restaurant. Everything our group ordered was delicious. And, the ultimate convenience, just call the hotel concierge and they will send a free shuttle to pick you all up. Runs 24/7. They also have native dance shows, artwork, etc. for a great cultural experience. The Pueblo Market coincided with our visit so we scored some Christmas gifts and some native dancing.

We came here from California for a few days. Nice and quiet place, except for the commuter trains, which come by early in the morning. But all n all a very nice place to stay with your rv.

The train goes by starting at 4:30am! It blows the horn every hour. I got no sleep. I do not recommend.

I had been wanting to do a Balloon Fiesta kayak/SUP trip for awhile now. Cody, and his wife Karen,…read morewere really knowledgeable throughout this SUP trip about anything paddleboarding, about the river, how the company came to be and its name (it's "just Mountain Standard Time"), etc. He has tours almost year round from snowshoeing/ brewery, mountain biking, birding, and photography tours. Because of traffic, we left the parking lot about 6:15 am and returned just after 11. The water levels were low, but the SUP's did just fine in most areas. The cost of the trip was definitely worth it. We had about 14 in our group. And since the tour was only running the first week of balloon fiesta, it sold out less than a week after being advertised and I didn't get a chance to ask others if they wanted to go as well (but it was totally fine solo and everyone was friendly and welcoming). I didn't want to get wet, so I didn't try standing up for a first timer, but I feel like this trip gave me more courage to try standing next time and trying something new. The highlight of the trip was being able to see a few balloons splash n'dash. Also, Cody and Karen arranged a nice little setup with a paddleboard balanced on two buckets with a tablecloth over for a little breakfast of mimosas, a fire for s'mores, assorted granola bars, and hot water in a thermos for hot chocolate and coffee while we waited and watched for the balloons. I'd definitely go again (and wake up at 4 am). 2022 #41

This was an awesome experience to ride the 2nd longest tram in the world up to the top!…read more First of all, the day we rode was the 60th annual celebration of the tram. Thus, our tickets were all 50% off. We found out we'd be riding the third generation. It's been so long since I last visited the tram that I probably rode the second generation. It's roomy! Even with the 60th celebration, our wait wasn't extremely long. I believe there are about 30 people on each ride, but I didn't count. I was hoping I didn't feel crammed and it wasn't too bad. Once you're up there, it's amazing to be so far above the ground. On the way up, our 'captain' gave us a bit of trivia about the area, the tram, and our trip up. At some point, you'll pass the other tram coming down, which gives you an idea of how fast you're really going! Wow. Once at the top, it's about 10 degrees cooler. Bring a light jacket or sweatshirt. You can choose to hike a trail that begins on the back side of the restaurant. You'll see the ski lifts and options for different hikes. OR, you can grab a drink from the Ten 3 restaurant and check out the views. We put our name on the list to eat and sipped on cocktails during the wait. It was nice and relaxing up there at the top! We ate at Ten 3 (our wait was 30 minutes) then made our way down. Our guide on the way down didn't say a word, but I suppose it's the same as the way up. There's only one bench on the tram so if you have trouble standing make sure you let it be known. My mom sat going and coming. When you're back at the bottom there's another restaurant if you'd like to eat there instead. They also have a gift shop with some Sandia Tramway, and Albuquerque memorabilia. It's a cute shop. I bought a few items. It's a nice trip. I've ridden before, but it's been so long I don't even remember. Check it out.

You can purchase tickets online for a two hour window to ride the tramway up. After that you can spend as much time as you like at the peak before heading back down. We bought our tickets for the 3-5 PM window which is a popular slot as many people like to watch the sunset from the top. It is a gorgeous sight to watch the sunset from the peak and even more so as the lights turn on throughout the city below. It was also very cold in December so make sure you bundle up before taking the tram. One drawback is that the tram only runs every 15 minutes and there's a huge live to go back down after the sunset. It was almost an hour's wait to take the trip back.
