Update 08-19-25: Went in to get my temporary teeth and the whole experience was phenomenal! I prefer to skip novocaine and Dr. Pink and Kelly (hygienist) kept checking in to make sure I was doing okay with the veneer removal. It was by far the most pain-free and easy experience. No zingers, blood, or sensitivity. Sadly my temporaries have had a mind of their own and prefer not to stay cemented in. Luckily they've fit me in to get them re-cemented. Not my actual dentist (pause, check name)…read more I am so in love with my Dental Center. 1) They have chocolate chip cookies and a fully stocked Keurig in the entry way 2) They offer paraffin wax hand treatments while you're getting your teeth taken care of 3) They offer nitrous oxide for your 4-year-old who refuses to get his teeth X-Rayed (those plastic X-Ray things do hurt) 4) They told me I have excellent teeth 5) I am in and out within 30 minutes I am so approving of dentists becoming competitive - you can tell this clinic is trying to keep its customers happy. I'm happy (but it could be the nitrous). I should also say that they have really great scheduling - I can usually get in within a week (if I'm flexible, or sometimes not), and they got my mom in when she had a broken tooth within a day (even though she hadn't previously been seen by their dentists).

I moved to Maplewood from Eagan two years ago and switched to this dental clinic because it's closer. I am now switching back to my Eagan clinic, where I also really liked, and I will be driving 30 minutes out of my way. My issue at North St Paul Dental is their front desk. I set my next cleaning appointment after each cleaning. The last THREE cleaning appointments I scheduled, so in the course of a year and a half, I received a call a couple of weeks prior to the appointment and was told I needed to reschedule because the hygienist would not be in. Okay. I understand it happening once, maybe twice, but three times?? When I brought this up on the third time and asked why they would keep scheduling an appointment for me when no one was available, I got excuses. Turnover, and the hygienist is pregnant. Well that really has nothing to do with me. I have a work schedule that I plan around when I set these appointments. So I reschedule for 12/3 because I like the doctor and hygienist. I get a call on the day of my appointment on 12/3, to confirm my appointment for next week on 12/7. Umm...no. That is a Monday, I never schedule appointments on Mondays, ever. I always have all day meetings on Monday, I've been with my company for 11 years. When I mentioned this could not be right. The receptionist said she would have never scheduled me for the 3rd since they have something going on all day. This might have been believable if they didn't have an issue scheduling my last THREE appointments. She also let me know I must have kept my old appointment, she was insisting my old appointment was 12/3. Umm, no. The original appointment that they needed me to reschedule was on 12/10. I have it in my calendar still and labeled as rescheduled to 12/3. I also have a VOICEMAIL from them on 10/29 asking me to reschedule my 12/10 appointment!!! 12/3 was never my first appointment, it was my new date after rescheduling. I'd love to replay the message for that woman. I also had issues with estimates. The last one was off by a couple hundred. I understand an estimate is not exact, but off by that much?! This I could have continued to overlook, but that along with the inability to schedule, now I'm running. I called to transfer my records and she didn't once ask if I'd consider staying. Horrible customer service. That receptionist doesn't know what she's doing.

She's been willing to work with me every step of the way and thoughtfully curated a treatment plan, that didn't include veneers! During my initial consult, we reviewed the photos they took of my teeth, and she had me point out which specific teeth I wanted her to focus on. She made it clear that I didn't have to commit to anything beyond what I was comfortable with, whether that was personally or financially, and that the plan could be tailored to my priorities. For my actual appointment, they offered me luxurious amenities from an entire menu! l got the heated neck pillow and headphones with cable TV, and they even surprised me with a smoothie afterwards! Dr. Horn also made sure to prep my lips with lip balm before starting anything, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the whole experience feel comfortable and genuinely caring. The results from my first appointment have been incredible and far exceeded any expectations I had. I remember saying during my initial consult that I just hoped to lessen some of the staining as much as possible, but it truly feels like it's almost entirely gone. I feel so happy and giddy when I look in the mirror now. I truly cannot recommend Dr. Horn and her team enough. Not only did they completely transform my smile, but they also transformed the way I feel about myself. The nice thing about New Brighton Family Dentistry is that they offer a package for customers who don't have insurance, which I really appreciated. I think I saved an overall $200 dollars on my visit! During this visit the staff were amazing and so patient with me: the women to run the reception area, the dental hygienist that cleaned my teeth, the radiologist who took X-rays, and finally, Dr. Grayson! During that visit they ended up fining a cavity and wrote me up a treatment plan with all costs included. This was great because it helped me to plan in advance for the procedures. Dr. Grayson was very gentle when administering the novacaine and drilling on my teeth! Another thing that I liked was how they use a tooth colored filling! In addition, I've always been interested in getting Invisalign, and Dr. Grayson was willing to sit down with me and talk about ALL of my concerns. Overall, I love this clinic. I think that the staff are hospitable, friendly, and most importantly, honest. All of their pricing is clear and they impose no pressure on their patients to proceed with a treatment.
