The check out line was forever long just crazy long across the store. Get used to it people, it's the holiday season. Thank God I got the most chill super cool laid back associate when I asked how he was doing he said he was "chillin." Made my day to see someone so super chill among all this chaos take it in stride. I could use him as a life coach. I was burning up it was so hot in the store with all those people and the long wait. He was awesome. Process in process out. Super professional with a calm demeanor. Prices were decent. Selection was good. Thank heavens this isn't the TJMaxx experience.

Done. Back to business.) Deja Vu is one of those stores where you will find something.... if you look long enough. There doesn't seem to be a consistent style of clothing here, so be prepared to find examples of every era. This is the kind of place I would go if I were looking for something for a period costume and didn't have all that much time to shop. There's a ton of things here, although there is a lot of variation in quality. My biggest qualm was with the jewelry, which felt way too overexcited-about-the-holidays-and-missed-when-big-brooches-went-out-of-style-ey for me. I honestly enjoy any opportunity to point at something and giggle, but this was too easy. The coat section has some honestly gorgeous finds. I am personally not a big fan of the fur coats, but I ran in to a couple of wool ones that I would love to add to my closet. I'm going to go with the coral reef metaphor for this place: there's tons of variation and something for every animal to eat if it spends enough focused time hunting. Just don't get eaten by an octocloth before you do. I bid you happy hunting.

The sales girl text me within literally 25 minutes and told me that the buy was finished and they could not accept any of my items and recommended I bring them to Plato's closet because they were "too young" for their store. I don't know what teenager would wear a brand new suit jacket from Anthropologie. Or work dresses that I wore when I was pregnant that are now too big. There is no way Plato's closet would have taken those clothes though so I brought them to Uptown Cheapskate who bought the majority of them. The rest I sold on Poshmark. I definitely won't be back because it was a waste of time and their process does not seem to make any sense.

I'm certain that the workers are racist, but even if they're not, they're at the very least nasty people who obviously shouldn't be in retail.
