It's very short, about .5 miles and there's virtually no elevation. Parking is right off the highway. Some hike deeper into the forest and actually make their way on top of the bridges. Unfortunately some have also died doing so. Know your limits. There is a trail beyond the paved path and at some point it gets very steep and sketchy. This is where you should stop and turn around. It's best to enjoy these bridges from a distance and find much safer hikes to take which there are many of in this area. Happy hiking!

There was a sign, however, to turn onto the one lane, potholed, tight dirt road that led us to the tiny parking area denoting we'd arrived at this state park. We took the trail out to the ledges and rock platforms that overlooked expansive views below and across the water. It was gorgeous, peaceful, and fun to explore the area, joined in our visit here by only one other couple (of geese). The underside of the sandstone edges really looked precarious, so we were careful to stay back. Otter Point is quite hidden and tucked away as compared to most other Boardman area viewpoints and landmarks...thereby offering a bit more serenity. A bit tight to maneuver the camper van down the road to get there, but definitely worth it.

Jerry's Rogue River Museum and Gift Shop are in a building near the boarding area for the fantastic 5-star Jerry's Rogue Jets tours. Both the museum and gift shop are a-ok though neither is really amazing either. We came for the museum and it was a quick distraction with a couple rooms decorated with photographs, infographics, and stuffed-animal displays about the fish, birds, wildlife, and history of the Rogue River. Kudos to those that invested the time and energy to put the exhibits together. Rounding up to a generous 4 stars because there probably aren't many other free options for quickly learning a bit about the history of the area.

What an excellent way to end my summer break!…read more One Thursday morning, my partner and I sat in the living room with our coffee and began discussing adventures we could have before returning to school. He suggested Jerry's Rogue Jets in Oregon, recalling how much he enjoyed it as a child. So, we looked up the Wilderness Whitewater Tour and found four tickets available for the next day (Friday) at 11:30. He booked a hotel, and we drove to Oregon that Thursday afternoon. The tour, which departed from the Port of Gold Beach, took us through the scenic Rogue River Canyon. As we rode, the captain shared fascinating stories about the river's history and wildlife. He executed many fun, quick turns and dips that splashed us with water. Luckily, we were sitting in the back, so we didn't get as soaked as those in the front. Our first stop was in Agness, where we switched boats and were entertained by Captain John. We also had to wear safety vests during this second part of the tour. This time, we got thoroughly drenched, but I still enjoyed it. I just wish I had brought an extra set of clothes. Our daughters, who were sitting in the middle, complained that they didn't get wet enough, even though their hair and clothes were soaked. I guess they were hoping to be completely drenched. After returning to Agness, it was time for a meal at Cougar Lane Lodge. It was convenient that food and drinks were included in the price! While alcohol cost extra, we didn't feel like having cocktails or beer. The lunch was surprisingly excellent! The adult meal had a variety of choices, and my partner opted for the BBQ plate, which included ribs, pulled pork, and brisket, along with a muffin, beans, and coleslaw. Delicious! I chose the cheeseburger with fries, which was also tasty. I regretted not selecting the BBQ plate, but I was satisfied with my burger. Fortunately, my partner couldn't finish his meal, so I was able to have a few bites of the tender meat. After our hour-long lunch, we returned to the boat. This time, the captain did fewer quick turns and dips, but it was still enjoyable! He continued to share information about the area, himself, and the animals in the wilderness until we made it back to the Port of Gold Beach. It was an incredible boat ride!

Beds and frames from a past era. One architect did this house , The house that came next and the st mary church we could not find. This was wealth from a family of 9 on a 2000 acre dairy farm that supplied meat and cheese and butter for the town and to be shipped from the port. A irish immigration success story. Patrick and Jane. One son was the lighthouse keeper nearby for over 30 years and one son became a ordained catholic priest that had a church on the property next to the local cemetery and a chapel on the second floor of the house for the family. Chapel is still here. If you like antiques and enjoy seeing how they were actually used, come here. House is immaculate. A free tour but donations go directly to upkeep. Be Generous !

Been coming here about 50 years. My folks took my sister and me and I took all three of my kids. We…read morereally love it here. My parents met the man who created all of this back in the 70s and always said he was the nicest and most interesting man. I think his family still owns and runs it. It's outside of Gold Beach so we hit it up anytime we're doing the PNW area. It's very affordable and kids find it magical. The parking is ample and the bathrooms are clean. The gift shop is really fun- esp when my son was younger and going through a years-long dinosaur obsession. My grown daughter, the kids dad and I all still think it's amazing. It's a really chill, nice place to stop. The person working is always really nice and they give you a fun map to walk around with.
