September 5, 2025. We've done Jerry's Rogue River jet boat ride a few times now. Normally they don't allow dogs, so that tends to be a limiting factor for us. However, on this particular day, there was a special cruise up the river that allowed dogs. It was actually part of a larger corgi dog event that was happening at the RV park we were staying at. When we found out about it, we signed up. Our little pup loved the boat ride, kinda like a dog who likes to stick his head out the window, ears blowing back, when you're driving down the road. I had a firm grip on her though, and she wasn't going anywhere. You get to see a lot of great wildlife and beautiful wild land scenery. read more

What an excellent way to end my summer break! One Thursday morning, my partner and I sat in the living room with our coffee and began discussing adventures we could have before returning to school. He suggested Jerry's Rogue Jets in Oregon, recalling how much he enjoyed it as a child. So, we looked up the Wilderness Whitewater Tour and found four tickets available for the next day (Friday) at 11:30. He booked a hotel, and we drove to Oregon that Thursday afternoon. The tour, which departed from the Port of Gold Beach, took us through the scenic Rogue River Canyon. As we rode, the captain shared fascinating stories about the river's history and wildlife. He executed many fun, quick turns and dips that splashed us with water. Luckily, we were sitting in the back, so we didn't get as soaked as those in the front. Our first stop was in Agness, where we switched boats and were entertained by Captain John. We also had to wear safety vests during this second part of the tour. This time, we got thoroughly drenched, but I still enjoyed it. I just wish I had brought an extra set of clothes. Our daughters, who were sitting in the middle, complained that they didn't get wet enough, even though their hair and clothes were soaked. I guess they were hoping to be completely drenched. After returning to Agness, it was time for a meal at Cougar Lane Lodge. It was convenient that food and drinks were included in the price! While alcohol cost extra, we didn't feel like having cocktails or beer. The lunch was surprisingly excellent! The adult meal had a variety of choices, and my partner opted for the BBQ plate, which included ribs, pulled pork, and brisket, along with a muffin, beans, and coleslaw. Delicious! I chose the cheeseburger with fries, which was also tasty. I regretted not selecting the BBQ plate, but I was satisfied with my burger. Fortunately, my partner couldn't finish his meal, so I was able to have a few bites of the tender meat. After our hour-long lunch, we returned to the boat. This time, the captain did fewer quick turns and dips, but it was still enjoyable! He continued to share information about the area, himself, and the animals in the wilderness until we made it back to the Port of Gold Beach. It was an incredible boat ride! read more

Our boat guy was fun, stopped to give us details of a places as we were passing by. He made sure to point out all sorts of wildlife - egrets, deer, eagles, baby ducks. We were all delighted! There are part of the ride that will feel bumpy. If you don't want to be drenched wear a poncho or waterproof jacket and hat. I wish I knew that in advance! We were lucky with nice weather for the day though. read more

Family fun in Oregon! We did the white water tour and it was great! The weather wasn't the best, but we made the best of it. I would recommend a poncho and lots of layers. Lunch was delicious and a great little break from the cold. read more

What a wonderful day! We finally got away for a long Memorial Day weekend to celebrate our anniversary. Happy we arranged a tour with Jerry's. It's just what we needed. We seriously feel like we came back to life after dealing with our day to day routine for so long. The fresh cool air, being on the water, seeing wild life and enjoying the commentary and company of our Pilot, Andy. We saw bald eagles, egrets, turtles, ducks and ducklings, sea lions, and deer. The sky was a beautiful clear blue. Just an exhilarating day! We did spins on the water and even sat and listened to the sound of quiet. Lunch at Cougar Lane Lodge at Agness was perfect. The office staff was professional and welcoming. I wouldn't hesitate with suggesting you take a tour. read more

This was such a great experience. It's worth doing more than once. Our tour guide was a seasoned 20+ year veteran, starting out with Mail Jet Boats, which was subsequently bought out by Jerry's Rogue Jets. Excellent storyteller, sharing many facts about the history of the river which included his family as well as commentary on the flora and fauna. And the tour itself is not just a leisurely calm ride up river it's interspersed with spins splashes, and just downright fun. Unfortunately, I don't recall our guide's name but he's definitely the one to captain your tour if you can get him. Just like Sonoma County, dress in layers, as the weather can start out cool near the coast and get very warm as you go up river -- think 40° plus temperature swing. And, sit in the first row, if you can (line up early); Not only will you get the best pictures, but you'll also stay a lot dryer if you want to as the windshield of the boat is handy for ducking into. If you're really into getting wet from what I could tell sitting in the second and third row is your best bet to be truly soaked, especially handy on a hot day. read more

We were crying laughing dan near the whole ride. We arrived a bit before our ship off time and we donned our rain jackets (which I highly recommend as you will most certainly get wet) and were directed to board our Red Jerry's Rogue River Jet Boat. This was a short drive from Humbug Mtn State Park to the dock in Gold Beach. We lucked out and had a gorgeous day on the Rogue River. We were fortunate enough to see some Bald Eeagles, a ton of Osprey, a plethora of swallows, and a bunch of deer. We did the shorter trip (32mi) and will definitely go back and do the 52mi trip next time. Kevin Boice - a descdent of Jerry Boice was our boat captain for the day and he is quite skilled at the help and regaled us in nature facts as well as historical significance of many landmarks along the Rogue river. From the get go we had an absolute blast. He was quite adept at dousing us in refreshing Rogue river water at his whim or would do a 360 degree spin with everyone hoot'n and holler'n at the fun being had. I do have to note that at no time did I feel worried as Kevin delivered a great ride that was overflowing (see what I did there) with fun but also safe. I brought my GoPro and got some epic videos. Our trip included lunch at the Cougar Lane Lodge and I figured it was going to be a sack lunch or something of the sort. Boy was I wrong. we ate like royalty and got a BBQ sampler plate and everything, even the cole slaw was delicious. The ribs were bite off the bone tender, the pulled pork was juicy and had a great smoke ring as did the Brisket which was also smoked perfectly. I was honestly surprised at how delicious the lunch was. This is a trip anyone passing through the area must experience. read more

Don't ride with captain Kevin! He thought it was really funny to get EVERYONE on the boat COMPLETELY soaked (shirts, pants, underwear) on a 60 degree day. A little wet on the face or shirt would have been ok, but NOT completely soaked. I was so cold on the return trip that my lips were blue and my teeth were chattering. read more

Just got off the Whitewater Express tour with pilot Kevin and Roo. My family had a great time with laughs and smiles as we traversed the Rogue River with the skilled pilot and guide. Care was taken that we did not get wet until the sun peaked through and then the twists, turns, and 360s began. Time flew by on this trip. Lunch was also great. No complaints from anyone on board were heard and the jokes continued around every bend in the river. read more

My mom took me on this trip. We were originally going to go on the sailboat tour, but no one was on that one so we went on the express whitewater tour. Brandon Mathews was an awesome guide. He kept us very e tertained by giving us history, taking us through rapids and making sure we kept cool by splashing us. He had an eagle eye for nature and we saw many osprey and ducks, but on top of that he spotted a bald eagle AND a black beat and he made sure we all got a picture. We also saw a river otter but he was too fast for the camera. The food was good as we had bbq. I would highly recommend you go on this tour if you are in Gold River. So worth it!! read more

A must do if you are passing through Gold Beach. Jerry's has been around since the 1950's and the tour takes you deep into the Rogue River. Be prepared to go through some rapids and you will get wet. We were luck to have one of Jerry's grand kids as our guide/operator who provided an exceptional experience on the river. We got to see waterfalls, birds, an old makeshift bar and other fascinating tid bits. The tour included a stop at Cougar Lodge for a late lunch, (plus optional adult beverages). There were different menu options all which were very good. read more

Wonderful selection of tours here, traveling the might Rogue River. Our tour was four hours with a lovely stop for lunch at a small resort, Singing Springs, above the river. Our boat held about 30 people, wasn't too rough. We were warned about the fact you'll get wet and we did but unless you sat in the front, not excessively. Our guide John was skilled, had the boat doing wheelies, dips, exciting for all! Plus the spray helped on a warm day. Dress in layers, tons of sunscreen, and a hat that is Secure! Jet boats are fast and hats love to be set free. Four hours later after seeing wildlife, beautiful mountains and forests with a full tummy, we returned happy vowing to do it again. Well worth the price! Word to elderly riders; getting over the side of the boat was ok, but have the guide explain the best way to avoid those lovely blood thinner bruises. Took the 4 1/2 hour tour yesterday (July 23). We had the BEST time! Brandon Mathew's our guide was great. Easy going, hilarious and super knowledgeable about everything there is to see on the river. The boat ride is a blast for every age group. It started out chilly but got very warm as we went inland so bring layers. You WILL get wet but not soaked. The lunch stop was fantastic. You get to order off the menu and everything is delicious. My husband got the BBQ Brisket and I got the chicken Caesar and we shared. YUM. Full bar too. It's in a beautiful lodge with a huge outdoor shaded patio that overlooks the river. Just an overall super fun experience that I highly highly recommend! read more

Put this on your must-do list if you are staying in or travelling through Gold Beach! Absolutely the best tourist attraction deal I've seen, - super fun, beautiful and unique. Very knowledgeable and entertaining pilot/guide, comfortable and safe boats, delicious lunch at Cougar Lane Lodge (multiple menu choices, great BBQ plate) and lots of 360's on the way back to Gold Beach. We saw osprey, bald eagles, herons and minks on the trip. Can't recommend it highly enough and will definitely try the white water tour next time! read more

This was so much fun. There were a ton of us and we all had a blast. We did the express whitewater trip and it lasted about 4.5 hrs total including the hour for lunch. The trip had lots of cool things to see: eagles and several nests, turkey vultures, deer, elk, a couple interesting historical points. The captain (Brandon Mathews) was funny and knowledgeable, he spotted several of the animals and pointed them out. The ride was exciting with lots of high speed turns and spins, you will definitely get wet so be ready. I'm a big dude and no problem getting in, seating, enjoying the ride, etc... The stop for lunch was cool, the food was good. I went in July and it was scorching hot at the turning point and lunch stop but we left at 8:45 am so it started out a bit chilly...wear layers and bring some type of bag to put your sweatshirt in. The ride was exhilarating but I never felt unsafe. Would definitely recommend this. read more

The experience of a lifetime. Since I likely will only experience a jet boat river tour once, we opted for the all-day option, which was exactly the correct decision. This tour begins in Gold Beach, where the weather is relatively crisp, then heads inland where the temperate may peak around 90-100. Layers are your friend. I brought 3 jackets and a blanket, which allowed me to peel off each layer one-by-one during the ride up, and eventually be sweating away in a tank top and sandals. Jim was our guide on the way up river; he was so knowledgeable about the local plants and animals and took great joy in sharing his knowledge. Jeff took over on the way back - he's been driving jet boats basically since infancy, and knows the river like nobody's business. He was jovial, and expertly guided us into spins and rapids, which allowed us to be gloriously soaked, which felt amazing the hot afternoon sun. We stopped for lunch at Cougar Lane Lodge, where there are two veggie-friendly options (a veggie burger and a really delicious veggie wrap). The staff there was very patient with my plant-based family as we debated whether we wanted to add various sides, and the food was delicious. If you're pressed for time, I'm sure one of the shorter trips would be okay, but really, why not splurge for the whole thing? I'm pretty sure you'll love it. read more

We had this trip recommended to us and we are so glad we took it! We had a perfect day for it and Captain John was informative, humorous and did everything he could to be sure we had a great time. Ask about 360s on the river! The lunch stop at Cougar Landing was really, really delicious. Lunch and beverages are included in the cost of your ticket. If you feel you can't hike to the top of the hill let the captain know and he'll arrange for transportation. The views everywhere were so lovely. We stopped along the river to ask John any questions we had and he answered them all with knowledge and patience. The trip downriver some riders asked to get wet and John was happy to oblige. This time of year we didn't see too much wildlife, but we saw Bald Eagles, Osprey and a lot of waterfowl. Do this if you are nearby. The cost for the trip and lunch is well worth it! read more

We went on the mail route tour with Kevin and had a fantastic time. Kevin is both a great pilot and guide. He is also pretty dang funny. He knows the river extremely well so was able to twist and turn through the river quite fast and with confidence. He also entertained us with lots of spins and great stories. He was enthusiastic and silly, but was professional. We also enjoyed hanging out with his sweet dog Roo. We saw bears, deer, pelicans, osprey, herons and gorgeous scenery. We had an amazing time took our kids and grandkids. We saw all kinds of wildlife bears,deer,seals and an assortment of birds. The 80-mile, 5-hour round-trip (including lunch at Cougar Lane Lodge) Express Whitewater Tour up the scenic Rogue River from Gold Beach past Agness in one of Jerry's Rogue Jets was fun ... and worth $89. Our guide was John. He's lived here for a long-time and done these tours for almost as long. He may be bored with us, but we weren't with his stories nor the boat spins and speed. There weren't many younguns on the tour, but we all acted like kids each time the boat dipped and spinned creating a high-speed splash of water. Wheeee! Along the way, we enjoyed the shoreline scenery along the Rogue River. It's notably undeveloped in many areas and only accessible by boat in many stretches. Luckily, we were in a jet boat that can travel on just 8 inches of water cause the river gets really shallow at spots. The whitewater section wasn't scary, but it was still kind of cool. Life jackets are required for that stretch of the ride; however, they probably weren't necessary. For lunch, we docked at Cougar Lane Lodge and enjoyed a surprisingly ok BBQ plate with ribs, pulled pork, brisket, baked beans, cole slaw, and corn bread. Beer and dessert are also available so I added those as well. Bring a windbreaker and a good attitude for a good time. Sunscreen and water are recommended, too. I probably don't need to do a Jerry's Rogue Jets tour again although once was worth $89 ... and totally 5-star fun. read more

Amazing time with my family. Loved this ride and the tour guide. Fun for all ages and was very safe. Had many different ages on our boat and all had good times. Saw elk, seals, otters, eagles and deer and babies. Guide had great information about the history of the rogue river. Great scenic views of the canyon, river and bridges. The ride was not super intense as my 6 year old daughter had as much fun as my 68 year old father. The food at the lodge was great and the drink there were just as good. Overall a perfect rating is not enough for this tour. read more

Celebrating our 30th Anniversary, Jerry's Jet Boats made our it a memorable one. From picking up tickets to boarding(assisting my hubby on was so much appreciated) to our Navigator Kevin, so professional. (I think his pup did all the work ) we so much loved him, knowledgeable & funny) also with my hubbys exiting the boat at lunch, so thankful for everyone that helped, so kind. So much fun!! Our guide, Travis, took us on the Bay Cruise and he was a combo of fun, friendly, good sense of humor and informative. A couple of things I'd recommend is dress in layers (it went from windy ocean air to warm river fun real quick!) and bring a bottle of water because 2 hours without it stinks.
