I'm torn about not giving 5 Stars. Quite pricey; however good quality, so I buy there.

His team built a covered 16x20 deck, two patios, added new fencing, did lots of ground prep and drainage work, installed pet friendly walkways and artificial turf, and helped beautify our plants/trees. Luke handled all of the planning and signoff with the architect and city on the deck design. He helped make sure the design would actually look really good when built, and when issues emerged with the city's requirements for the permit, he worked diligently to get it all resolved. Luke also went boulder, paver, and plant shopping with us. He made sure what we picked would actually work, and once we picked something out, he made it happen. Luke handled so many of the planning and logistical details for us, was super communicative throughout the process, and gave us lots of ideas to address challenges we were facing in our original space. He was a great listener and continually adjusted the plan to make sure the design fit our aesthetic and functional goals. His team also took such great care of our space. Such thoughtful design and attention to custom details. When we were on the fence about decisions, he'd help show us what either looked like, so we'd feel good about the decision. Now we have a dream backyard that we love to hang out in.

I requested a few additions (rain chain instead of gutter downspout + staining/painting) after signing the initial contract, and Luke was happy to adjust the project accordingly. Orca was NOT the cheapest option nor the most expensive option, they ended up being middle of the road. I decided to go with them because Chris was VERY THOROUGH and explained EVERYTHING to me. The crew came out and knocked it out of the park, literally took them 2.5 days and it was done. This was back in June 2025, we are currently in the heart of winter and have had some serious rainy days and EVERYTHING's been GREAT, NO LEAKS, NO ISSUES! Fast forward to February 2026, I was so impressed by their service and workmanship I called them when the roof at my own house started to leak. (The leak was NOT because of age but the shotty workmanship from our builder Connor Homes.) I spoke to Chris again and he set me up with Peter. Peter and crew came out and temporarily covered my roof until they are able to get me in the books. Peter and crew came back in about a week and took care of my roof. The entire process took about 2 days and literally 3 days after they were done we had a crazy rain storm. Once again, NO LEAKS, NO ISSUES. Orca Roofing is 2 for 2 with me, priced right and took care of my roof issues. There are not too many trustworthy businesses these days but I can honestly vouch for these guys. Thank you for taking care of my roof issues and now I can actually sleep at night.

He took the time to thoroughly explain the process, answer all of my questions, and prepare a detailed scope of work that addressed my concerns. After the installation, a few items required follow-up, and the crew returned to complete the necessary rework. While this was initially disappointing, I understand that issues can arise during any project. I was very impressed with Pete, Mike, the sales manager, and the crew foreman for the way they managed the situation and ensured I was completely satisfied with the final result. Thank you to everyone at Orca Roofing for your professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction.

We worked with Jacob to make a plan and work out details and needs. Jacob assured us the plants would be avoided as best as possible, and went over what should be moved or tied back to help ensure they were protected. Inevitably a couple of plants were just too in the way, but overall the team took lots of care around them. There was a little delay with the posts we went with and Jacob communicated wonderfully about this, and worked to get us in immediately once the posts were finished with the fabricator. Cristian led the work crew and was an excellent communicator throughout. We ran into a couple of underground wires that were not properly marked by the marking company, he was extremely remorseful and one of the guys ran out to get parts immediately to put in a temporary fix. Again, this was not their fault, yet they took responsibility. The team worked hard for several days, always communicating what was happening. They were respectful, and not loud (except for power tools as needed). The project made a bit of a mess, I was a little worried about clean up, but Cristian assured me they would be doing a full clean up once the project concluded. They did such a great job cleaning up! For such a nuanced project, they did an excellent job and we would highly recommend them. We are so pleased! Thanks Neighborly!

ZERO STARS due to incompetence, dishonesty and poor quality…read more ·Constant delays and no shows. For example, this was par for the course..."We'll be there Monday morning. No show. Call Wednesday and inquire, told they would be there Friday. No show Friday. Down payment made in January, build did not start until early September (partially covid delays, see more below), finished 13 weeks later for a total of 11 months which could have been much less given all the issues below. · Owner doesn't live in the area. That's neither here nor there, but, if you're expecting local ownership, this isn't the case. Moreover, this wouldn't be an issue if the owner had a clue what was happening onsite. On multiple occasions, I had to explain to the owner and his wife when they thought they were ready to wrap up that it wasn't close to being done and listing off all the remaining tasks. All of which was a surprise to them. For example, all the quality issues listed below existed when they asked for final payment. Bad relationships and communications with their onsite workers lead to massive incompetence. · Owner called me up when they were about a month in and ~90% complete to ask for an advance on their final payment to cover his payroll. Feeling bad for the workers, I obliged. All workers except the foreman quit after getting paid. It took 2 more months to finish the final 10% and to fix quality issues. · Quality issues: The following issues leave me worried that I won't have issues downstream and if I do, they won't fix. I caught many quality issues I can see. Are there ones I can't see? o When they said they were done, I did my own inspection of the work and found a bunch of planks not fully bolted down, jagged cuts, unaligned gaps, and just weird issues with siding and old pieces of the deck not removed. o A railing was leaning up against a light pushing the light to an angle. This is a measurement issue for the deck, they had to redo a section by shaving off 1/2 inch to fix. I'm the one that had to point the issue which is absurd. How do you not see this as you're doing it? o Railing was installed flush next to old decking that wasn't fully demo'd. They literally left some old pieces of the deck with exposed nails on when the railing company came and installed the rails. Neither the decking folks or the railing folks considered this a problem. They had to fix it and now two side railings reach the house with different lengths. Off by a couple inches. From a distance, its not noticeable, but, looking up close looks unprofessional. o Screws in the driveway. I asked multiple times for them to ensure no screws were in the driveway as I have run flat tires (a puncture equals 4 new tires). I'm still unsure why screws were in the driveway when the work is happening elsewhere on the property. I gave up on the workers doing the right thing and scanned the driveway every day to remove screws. · Disrespect of my property. A worker took a shovel out of my garage without asking and then left it in the grass for days. I don't care about a shovel, but, don't take client's things without asking and misuse them. I still wonder if they took other things that I'm not aware of. · Sales rep's communication was abysmal and a sign of things to come. o COVID had delays to both engineering work and city permits. No problem with that, however, when the sales rep over promises something like completing drawings in 2 weeks and 2 months go by without informing the client, that's incompetence. o I ended up having to call the city on his behalf to move things along. Note, the owner said engineering work usually is done within a week, it took 4 months. o Things I asked to ensure happen, like laying down weed tarp on the grass where new decking is going, never got communicated to the workers. · No clean up was done. I still have planks with mud on them and finding random screws in the yard. I found another loose plank. When I informed the owner, he said he had no workers to complete this. I have no faith it will be done. · Workers all hated the owner and voiced their opinion regularly. Why would you tell the client this? It must have been so toxic that they couldn't help but talk openly about it. · With all the delays, lying, disrespect and quality issues, the owner brings up offering me a partial refund to compensate me. This was his idea and ultimately, he offered $400 out of the $60k spent right after bragging he had $2M is open projects. Something doesn't add up here. He has $2M is open projects, yet, can't cover payroll or offer a reasonable compensation? · Finally, I told the owner to keep his $400 refund, it was such an insignificant offer. I mentioned that I was writing this review. He hung up on me, told his only worker (the foreman) to "do the bare minimum" to wrap things up. The foreman told me this and then quit the following week.

After getting several bids, I went with Vitaliy (owner) and his team. Here's why: - Vitaliy was exceptionally clear, punctual, and spoke in facts (he was not at all sales-y). - He did what he said he'd do (call me back, or prepare an estimate) when he said he'd do it. From the first interaction, it was clear he has high integrity. - Vitaliy noticed critical details (such as the fact that none of my windows had flashing!) that nobody else documented in quotes or discussed with me. - And, his responses to my questions were patient and thorough. Vitaliy helped me understand all the aspects of the project and design choices, which helped me feel confident and supported. And then the work began! - Slavic and Alex were assigned to my project and wow - they are exceptionally skilled and hard working! - Slavic and Alex have great attention to detail. The siding work is very precise and they made simple and beautiful enhancements along the way (like swapping out old and poorly installed vents). - Rot was discovered under a stairway off my kitchen, and I decided to have the staircase rebuilt. It is beautiful. They even noticed that the original staircase had a weird drop off from the interior floor and corrected that so there's now a seamless landing that is much safer and easier to use. The work Slavic and Alex did on this part of the build is as high quality as their siding work. - The work site was always SUPER tidy. Slavic and Alex took great care to clean up as they worked, paid attention to simple details like ensuring nails were picked up and that hose covers were back on (winter months), and they were very respectful of the driveway which I share with my neighbors. - Throughout the installation, Vitaliy kept me updated via text, phone calls, and site visits. I always knew where things stood and what degree of rot was uncovered (or not) at the end of a demolition day. The level and consistency of communication was outstanding. This is the biggest home project I have ever tackled, and it was by far the easiest. And that is because of Vitaliy, Slavic, and Alex. Their communication and the quality of their work is exceptional. Hire these folks!
