Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised. The eyeglass frame selection is not huge but it is certainly extensive; both my wife and I were able to find frames that looked nice and fit us. We had been going to private optometrists but we were surprised to find that the people who work at Costco are just as nice, knowledgeable, and professional. We felt confident they knew what they were doing and had our best interests in mind. After we ordered our glasses, we received them in less than two weeks, which is very fast. The only "downside" to ordering glasses from Costco is that you have to take a number and wait in line to get someone to help you; to work around this, we always go when they first open up in the morning. The other thing is that they don't process Kaiser claims, so we had to fill out a reimbursement form with Kaiser and receive payment from them. Other than that, we are totally happy with our purchases and will go to Costco again when we need new glasses.

My husband and I brought a brand-new eyeglass frame purchased in Japan from Kaneko Optical JR…read moreHakata City to Klahanie Eye Care Center on December 22, 2025 for prescription lens installation -- the same morning we returned from Japan. We went in immediately because our annual vision insurance benefit was expiring on December 31, and we needed to complete the service as soon as possible before the benefit period ended. The frame had been purchased just three days earlier (Dec 19, 2025) and was brand new. At drop-off, we clearly told the staff member assisting us that: * the frame was purchased overseas just days earlier * it was difficult to replace * it contained a plastic insert and required extra care during heating We specifically asked that this be noted for the lab. We were told this would not be an issue, and based on that assurance, we proceeded. Despite this, their outside lab permanently heat-damaged one side of the frame during mounting. The damage is uneven -- one side installed properly while the other is visibly warped -- which indicates localized overheating (a preventable workmanship error, not a material defect). After the damage occurred, the business: * refused monetary compensation * offered only store credit under an "insurance" fee (this limitation was never disclosed before service) * attempted to shift responsibility to a third-party lab * minimized the damage by saying the frame was "still wearable" * later claimed the frame was "old/used/out of warranty," which is factually false We have since obtained reissued receipts, warranty proof, airline confirmation, and timestamped photos showing the frame was brand new and undamaged at drop-off. We also never spoke with the doctor who later responded to this claim -- he was not the person who assisted us that day -- so we don't know where the "used frame" story came from. Most concerning: after knowingly accepting a brand-new, overseas-purchased, non-replaceable frame -- and confirming they could safely perform the service -- the business tried to shift responsibility onto us by saying lenses should only be installed where frames are originally purchased, or that the manufacturer should replace frames damaged by labs. That's unreasonable. They accepted the frame, assured us they could handle it, and proceeded. We accepted reasonable risks like shipping loss or material defects. Negligent overheating during installation is not an unavoidable risk and should not be transferred to the customer. Based on the workmanship, lack of disclosure, and how responsibility was handled afterward, we cannot recommend this business.

The doctor was good but the front desk, insurance part of this place is absolutely ridiculous. So disorganized, didn't know what they were doing and management was MIA on a Monday afternoon.

I recently decided to try a new vision place for my annual eye exam and new glasses/lenses prescription. I had read some reviews on Issaquah Vision, liked what I read and their location was super convenient- right next to the post office in Issaquah. I loved the place! They were right on time, and Dr. Steve Cassidy gave me all the time in the world for my appointment. He gave me info about trying contact lenses and the pros and cons. The exam was a breeze- and fun too.. he kept me in stitches. Erica, the optician, spent a long time helping me make sure I was happy getting the right frames that not only fit my face properly but also looked nice cosmetically for my appearance. She didn't rush me at all when I changed my mind several times and kept trying on different frames. She understood that it was important I felt good in whatever choice I made, since glasses would be a daily part of my life. I really appreciate her patience, her knowledge of choices- colors, styles , lenses options, etc and being honest about certain frames not looking as good as others. I see that Dr Walt opened his business in1983 and strangely enough my wife Elly and I I arrived in Issaquah that same year. Doctor Walt was our first and only eye Doctor till this day. I'm not sure of our start ing date but it was a long time ago. I am happy to say that he has been taking care of our eyes for all these years. He Walked me through cataracts (by specialists ) and many helpful discussions along the way . He took Elly through many contact lenses. and different glasses. They were always ready to refit or repair bent frames .Neither of us mind the trip for our yearly check up.because it was a great time to renew our friendships. I've been going to Issaquah Vision for years and even though I live 40 minutes away now, they're still well worth the drive. The staff at this office are amazing and set a high standard for customer service. Both doctors are extremely knowledgeable and make getting your eyes checked pretty fun. This place also has an amazing frame selection, which would explain why I can't resist but get new glasses every time I visit. We moved from IL to WA and are so happy to have found Dr. Walter Cassidy as our kids' eye care doctor. My son is an avid reader and trains rigorously in swim team. We have had him on CRT lenses several years ago so it is hassle free during sporting events. Since not a lot of doctors are skilled in CRT lenses we are thrilled to have found Dr. Cassidy. He and his staff are really friendly and easy to work with. They are thorough, patient and would not stop until they found optimum parameters for the prescription. I now live in Seattle but the commute is worth it; I will never go elsewhere. The staff is committed, professional and accommodating. I never feel rushed, I feel more like family :). I started with the Cassidy's 21 years ago as a patient. Now I am a 'Big Fan' of theirs! In my late 40's, my vision had been declining steadily. Now approaching 70, my correction is less than half what is was back then. They are sincerely interested in your eye health and how to maintain it. With the help of supplements and a unique sleeping mask that I discovered along the way, Walt was a huge help to me throughout my time as their patient. Dr. Walt Cassidy has provided our family with excellent eye care for over two decades. My husband has had some serious eye problems that required surgery. Dr. Cassidy immediately diagnosed his eye problems and coordinated his specialized care. A delayed diagnosis could easily have resulted in a loss of vision. I've been a patient here for near about 20 years. I am a difficult patient, in that I find it very hard to adapt to even the minutest changes in my perscription lenses. But, this never phases Dr. Walter, my doc, who willingly tries this or that adjustment, whatever it takes to make it work for me. He's a caring and careful doc, and a great guy, too. Dr. Stephan Cassidy has been my eye doctor for 15+ years. I travel over an hour to his office now for my appointments after moving from Issaquah 5 years ago. At the time I moved, I decided to find an eye doctor nearer to my home, but after 2 or 3 failed attempts, I just decided the drive to Dr. Cassidy was worth the time. He knows my eyes so very well, that I don't have to waste my time educating someone new. With so many different optometry services in Bellevue, it can be difficult to choose where to go. But I decided to switch over to The Eyecare Center due to its convenient location and positive reviews, which I stand by. It's very easy to make an appointment online, which is a big factor for any kind of health care services. I've been in situations where I've had to wait forever to get an appointment and/or could only schedule an appointment with someone on the phone, which can be difficult since my schedule is very busy. For me to schedule it myself, it's very easy to do online as I can plan out and also, easily cancel when need be. The Eyecare Center also takes VSP insurance. The Eyecare Center is located near the Bellevue Botanical Garden in the Wilburton neighborhood, and is right off of NE 8th street, which is easy to get to, with plenty of parking in the private lot. There's also the B line bus stop right in front of it, making it accessible for all. Staff are always friendly and I always see the same eye doctor. The annual exam takes about an hour with the usual eye tests, dilation, etc. They do also sell eyewear here. No complaints about The Eyecare Center.
