I could not believe our good fortune when - completely unexpectedly during a rushed move following…read morethe sale of our home - I called Vinny's Minis and the friendliest, most helpful, and understanding person answered the phone (I'm sooooo sorry I forgot your name!). She didn't even hesitate or make the process seem complicated when she offered a unit that we were able to get into that same day. When I arrived a few hours later, exhausted and cranky and driving a 25-foot U-Haul truck, she made the check-in process feel completely painless. With her traffic control help, I was backing up the U-Haul truck in under 15 minutes! After rolling up the door to the storage unit I completely melted down with relief - it was ULTRA clean, easy to access, and the perfect size. About a week later when we realized the buyers of our home wanted to close in 9 days, I called for another unit - fully expecting to hear that nothing was available. Our good fortune hadn't run out - they had a 10x30 available the next day. The whole add-a-unit process was handled over the phone and online (we lived 45 minutes away at the time) so it was completely hassle-free. Once again, the second staff member (I'm so sorry I forgot your name!) who managed this part of the transaction was SUPER friendly and beyond helpful. The whole property is really well-kept and clean, the units were both very clean, the roll-up doors work perfectly, and we're just so grateful to have found a business with old-school, neighborly-feeling customer service. What a joke. Made a reservation online, completed all documentation and their "move-in" process. I…read moreselected an outside storage unit. I head over to the facility, security code in hand. Upon arrival, code won't work. Tried it at least a dozen times So, I call the number on the sign. Voice mail says "they aren't on site but can be reached by phone." After MULTIPLE attempts, that proves to not be true. I tried calling the Fernly location. That too went to voicemail, saying "Today is September 1st and we are closed for the holiday." Today is in fact November 26. Upon calling the silver springs location, again I only get a voicemail, but they at least give office hours. Thinking I might be able to told to SOME sort of employee, I drive to the Spanish Springs location. Guess what, their office is inside the secure gate, you can't get in unless you have a security code for that location. Negative contact with any living soul. I drive BACK to the Carson location. My security code still doesn't work. I tried a simple, generic code and the gate opened right up. I drive around for a minute to locate my storage unit. Guess what? It's NOT a storage unit. Appreciate, according to Safe Storage, and only Safe Storage, an outside storage unit, is a parking spot. They have a few secure units, but I won't be dealing with this company again. They are misleading and INCOMPETENT!

NOT TRUTHFUL WITH ME - BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE…read more Unfortunately, I had rated them five stars...until I left after several months. I had been out of the country and, after a long drive home, got home from the airport at 2:00 in the morning. I called Anchor's Office Manager and said, "I know today is the last day of the month, but can you pro-rate me one day so I can come in this weekend?" He said they don't pro-rate charges, but for just one day, they wouldn't charge me if I vacated first thing in the morning. I DID...AND A COUPLE OF DAYS AFTER I LEFT, THEY CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD FOR A FULL MONTH ANYWAY. Had I known they were going to be untruthful, I would have left the car there for the month! Instead, I paid a full month's rent for a vacant spot that they rented out. I asked the Office Manager to email his supervisor's contact information to me, which he agreed to, but never did. THIS LEFT A VERY BAD TASTE IN MY MOUTH. This was a very bad customer experience.

David Godley, owner, was very easy to work with and very accommodating. As for the the rental rate, it was very reasonable as compared to other storage facilities in the area. We also felt a sense of security with the using the recommended lock and automatic security gate which utilized each tenants individual code. The only minor nit pick would to say that the strorage unit is not very well sealed around the door as it can accumulate quite a bit of dirt. We also noticed some mice droppings when we moved out. However, we somewhat experience that with our own garage. Even still, I feel comfortable giving 4 stars to this business.

A month but the trouble I had made it impossible to get into my unit because she locked me out for no reason. She sent me an email saying I couldn't have two locks on my unit . I don't always check my email and (I still haven't found this email), and I have had two locks on it for over a year! So when I went to my storage and found one of my locks cut off I was very concerned so I called her and found out about the email in which I replied why couldn't you have called me I would have been right over to take it off. She had no explanation except it had to be emailed because there is a charge involved, so not only did I lose a lock but I was charged for it too. So now my storage got paid with the extra fee and I made sure it went through. Then today I went to drop some things off in my totally paid for storage and i am locked out! I can't believe this! It is after business hours and I try to get in touch with her but of course I can't! Why am I locked out is she trying to punish me? What is up with that?
