Shopping in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. My friend, Cece, from Northern California, sent me a post about the new Hello Kitty print which was arriving in July 3, 2026. I didn't think anything until she explained that the fresh, green, exclusive design is only available in a backpack, laptop sleeve, pencil case, and lunch bag... plus, it will only be shipped to Hawaii addresses with a minimum purchase of $200 to avoid shipping charges. Uhg... I pondered about what to get. Cece said the pencil case ($32) was on the small side. She went to the store and snapped a few photos with her hand for size comparison. Hmm... I decided on the lunch bag because it included a crossbody strap as well as a handle on the top. Cece stood in line for me and said that the salespeople were super kind and organized. She was first in line and got my bag for me. Later, I went when there was no line. The cozy shop was clean and bright and stocked well! Cashiers were smiling and helpful! I'm so happy with this quality, exclusive product! Thank you, Cece, for helping me with this decision!

Other items were tad too pricey for me to justify (e.g. $8 for a very tiny thin canvas drawstring bag and other small pouches in the $30+ range).

I'd forgotten to pack a hat for this trip and might not have had a chance to buy one if I hadn't run across Mori by Art + Flea, after a meeting in the same building. The shop was very cute, with a sort of museum shop aesthetic: clean and colorful with lots of interesting merchandise, much of it made by local small businesses and artists. I didn't have time to do a full browse, but I definitely liked what I saw. There were a few baseball caps available, and I picked a flexible black one with a pink hibiscus patch sewn on the front. I wore it almost every day for the rest of my trip, from Hawaii to the Philippines. The cap made a nice souvenir, and I continue to get use out of it at home. I'm glad Mori appeared when it did. It's a great shop, definitely worth checking out if you're in Honolulu.

The shop itself is charming, and the team was exceptionally polite and genuinely friendly. Their merchandise is creative and thoughtfully curated, with a nice variety of unique items that made browsing really fun. Prices felt reasonable for the quality and originality you're getting. What I loved most was the positive energy throughout the store. One of the employees shared a sweet piece of advice that stuck with me: "Believe me, my friend. when you're my age, you'll do everything you can to make your day and truly enjoy it."
