I appreciated to be able to pick my online order a day after. But to be greeted with moody person, owner or not ain't my thing.

Shopping in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii…read more.. My friend, Cece, from Northern California, sent me a post about the new Hello Kitty print which was arriving in July 3, 2026. I didn't think anything until she explained that the fresh, green, exclusive design is only available in a backpack, laptop sleeve, pencil case, and lunch bag... plus, it will only be shipped to Hawaii addresses with a minimum purchase of $200 to avoid shipping charges. Uhg... I pondered about what to get. Cece said the pencil case ($32) was on the small side. She went to the store and snapped a few photos with her hand for size comparison. Hmm... I decided on the lunch bag because it included a crossbody strap as well as a handle on the top. Cece stood in line for me and said that the salespeople were super kind and organized. She was first in line and got my bag for me. Later, I went when there was no line. The cozy shop was clean and bright and stocked well! Cashiers were smiling and helpful! I'm so happy with this quality, exclusive product! Thank you, Cece, for helping me with this decision!

I'd highly recommend this store if you are a fan of Miffy - they have a lot of cute items, some…read moreexclusive to the Waikiki retail store. However, be prepared to pay more than what you'd expect as other reviewers had pointed out - the prices are high for what these items really should cost, which sucks, but I believe there is a reason(s) for this. I purchased a small plush keychain, a tee, a magnet and a sticker and the cost was just over $90 - the cost of the tee surprised me the most as it's $55 and I was expecting this to be more in the $40-$45 range. The store is on the smaller side and even on a weekday afternoon after 3pm, it was packed. It's located at the end of the row of stores, adjacent to the side of the Royal Hawaiian where the Sheraton is. Staff at the store were nice and helpful with any questions that I had. Besides the plushies, they had a great selection of stickers as well as magnets and keychains. For decades, I was aware of how popular Miffy has been in Japan (my cousin in Japan had Miffy items since the 90's), but for the U.S., I feel it has become increasingly popular within the last 2-4 years or so. I'm not sure if it's possibly because the creator, Dick Bruna had passed away in 2017 and since then, licensing and the creation of more Miffy merch and collabs may have become more easier to come out with, at least that's been the speculation. Although I'm generally not a fan at all of Hello Kitty or Sanrio, nor do I particularly like rabbits, there is something about Miffy that does appeal to me more than Sanrio characters - likely the simple design and neutral expression on Miffy and that it came before Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty and its European vibes. Before this, I'd ordered a plush Miffy keychain from the Kira online shop in SF. The keychain ended up being much bigger than expected for me to place on a bag/backpack so I decided that I'd stop by this store during my few days in HI to see if I can find a smaller keychain and maybe a tee as I heard this is currently one of only two Miffy themed stores in the U.S., the other being Miffytown in Kentucky. If you're in Honolulu and are a fan of Miffy, then this is worth checking out.

There are bags, stuffed animals, paper goods, some cosmetics, lamps etc. The sales clerk waits at checkout and it's super crowded but she was friendly. The prices can be a bit steep but I don't think it's very different than say Sanrio or other Miffy products that I have purchased. If you go to the three Kira stores and make a purchase you get stickers on cards. If you fill it up you get a small surprise. Don't know what it is though.

Jamie W and I were waiting for our reservation at The Pig and The Lady (review: https://yelp.to/LhZdZcHz26), so we had time to explore the Kaimuki neighborhood. Beyond the necessary malasada at Pipeline Bakery (review: https://yelp.to/coxyVLI5P8), we were curious about a couple of LGBTQ-owned businesses on Waialae Avenue. One was a fun pet supply emporium, The Public Pet (review: https://yelp.to/XXvGoRe97Q), and this was the other store. There were plenty of things to browse. Clothing and accessories appeared to dominate the main hallway, while housewares, handbag, and fabrics were presented in the back area. There were unique items like colorful hair clips, duck-head umbrellas, and tins of mackerel filets. Andrew makes sure there's nothing predictable about the inventory here, which makes a return visit mandatory. RELATED - Exploring Hawaii?
