Lou's is an absolute gem! There subs are some of the best I have ever had! Their "dolphin" sub is amazing and has so much flavor to it, I love their meatball subs as well. Their food is just amazing quality, the wait time can be a bit but believe me its worth it. I will say the only thing I'm not a fan of is their prices, getting a 12 inch dolphin sub and a small fountain drink costed me $30!!! It really is hard to justify the price of a sandwich being 22 bucks, but a fountain drink for 7 bucks is highway robbery! Seaside subs have amazing sandwiches that cost nearly half of that price! As far as hidden gems go, we hit the jackpot finding Lou's. This place has been around since 1971 and by how homey it feels inside, you can definitely tell there's history. Prices are fair and reasonable for what we got. I forgot to take a photo of my sub but I got turkey & ham with provolone and it was fresh and filling. The photo below is of my boyfriend's "steak works" 6-inch sub which he said was fresh, not greasy and yummy. I swear I wrote a review for Lou's years ago! I guess not. Many locals gravitate to places like Laspada's for quality subs. While Laspada's is great, Lou's is the best! You cannot find a better sub in South Florida! If it's close to lunch time, prepare for a major line (ppl love this place). However, they work quickly! I used to live 5 minutes from here and ordered at least 1-2 times a week. It is now about a 20-30 minute drive depending on traffic. Best believe, when I am in the area I will not miss my chance to get a sub from Lou's! My go-to is the Virginia baked ham which I am pretty sure they make "in-house". Sometimes I will order a second sub for later or the next day since I live a bit further away now (it's that darn good)! You cannot go wrong with any of the subs on the menu! My only "wish" is that they would get a water filtration system. The fountain drinks and water from the machine are not drinkable in my opinion. Stick with the bottles or cans from the cooler. Cooking for one isnt so exciting so I order out a lot. Last night I was hungry for a sub and I chose Lous Giant Subs! In my personal opinion Lous is as good as Laspadas and thats my basis for this review, I grew up eating other subs and tried Lous for the first in my life (Im a native floridian). When I say fresh, delicious, toppings i love and delivered in a timely manner are my first thoughts. I ordered the italian sub which is italian meats(salami, ham) lettuce onions black olives sweet peppers and oil and vinegar is what I like on my sandwich and thats exactly what I ordered. Most time sub shops dont have black olives and thats is always a deal breaker for me. Lous has black olives and I love black olives on my subs! I ordered a 12 inch so I would have half left over for today. I only ate half a sub last night and that was huge(i had to cut it in half) and so delicious i am so glad I ordered from Lous! Ive driven by Lous Giant Subs for years and I have to say I will be getting my subs from Lous from now on. They are close to my home and like I said they are if not better than Lasapdas and that says a lot to me. Take my word for it, try Lous and tell me they arent delicious! You cant! I would recommend eating in or on the patio since all the moisture from the veggies will make the bread a little soggy if you have to travel more than a few minutes. Subs are large & there are a wide variety of choices. Service is good, but when I was there, the person who was making my sandwich was interrupted by someone working there. That person brought a phone to my server & she proceeded to FaceTime with a child while making my sandwich.
