I've been meaning to post a review. I recently purchased my first firearm and did go to the other local stores. I tried Unreliable Guns on Fraser but felt I was walking into a bsmt rather than a ground level gun store I also went to unilever firearms and feel they should stick with selling unilever soap than levered firearms Not having heard of Italian Sporting Goods, I was expecting a few beefy east van Italians running the show. I was met with a hilarious and helpful Italian guy and same went with the asian fellow who processed the payment I joked and laughed with them. They are provided helpful advice and insight on my new hobby. I really liked the vast selection and gave me an opportunity To try on a few different firearms until I narrowed down to one I liked I ended up purchasing a German made firearm which resembles an more aggressive model Thx guys!!!! read more

Italian sporting goods is the closest gun shop to me and when I got my pal I decided to make it my go to shop. I purchased quite a few boxes of target shot shells and clays with no issues. When I purchased my first centerfire rifle from the EE on CGN, it had a wonky front sight. I brought it to my "local gunsmith" to get it fixed, fully expecting to pay through the nose for quality workmanship. I was told "that's what you get for buying Chinese crap" and that they would not work on the rifle (a norinco M305). That was it. They essentially stared at me until I left, completely embarrassed. Needless to say, I bought a few parts from M14.ca and employed another gunsmith who got it working perfectly. These guys are hacks and I gladly drive farther to go to Tiger arms, Reliable Gun, Wanstalls, heck even Lever are better than these knobs. read more

Very rude and dismissive! When asked for gun smithing service, answer was- not unless I bought the gun with them. They shrugged it off as a joke when confronted with the truth, but it was very unpleasant and not a but funny (as they perhaps wished for...) at all! read more

I like this place. They are friendly and know their stuff. The big box stores don't have the same feeling and theres no way they can be as in- tune as these guys are. Its been busy when I go in, but I think most people are regulars - it feels like an old fashioned barber shop in a way. Very comfortable, friendly and somebody says hi right away Also they have far more inventory than I though they would. I don't get into Vancouver much, but when the timing is right, I go out of my way to go there. Since I'm going downtown today, I'll go in just to get my tags. I would never set foot in this store ever again. Purchased a shotgun and never even took one shot with it. After trying to trade it for some binoculars, they offered me half of the shotguns value, and tried to sell me a $2000.00 pair of binoculars. If you're looking for customer service and great prices, you've found the place. Don't go elsewhere to shop around for low prices. Don't go elsewhere for excellent information and customer service. This place will tell you the truth, sell you items at excellent prices, and order what you need if you need it(within reason). What more could you ask from a store? They have excellent hours of operation, 8PM closing times? That's customer service at it's best. For that very reason, for the convenience, I will go there even if I have to pay a little more (which I don't)! It's a local family owned store that does everything as it should, with the customer's experience and best interest at mind. Spend your money there and be happy doing it. One problem is stock, but the reason for that is because it's a great store and very popular, rightfully so. They re-stock quite often, so they address that issue. Street parking is not a problem, plenty of space. Staff are friendly and very helpful, knowledgeable as well, in person and on the phone. They also pick up the phone and can check stock quickly, this is a plus, and can help you avoid an unnecessary trip. It's a 5 out of 5 star store, as good as it gets! GO THERE! read more

Italian has a large array of hunting goods and if you know what you're looking for, don't need help from the staff, and don't mind providing a retina scan to get in the two front doors, it's your place. I found the staff to be more akin to doomsday preppers than hunters - Ted Nugent would feel right at home. If you're looking for something and want customer service or gunsmith services, I would recommend Reliable Gun. If you're experienced and just need to pop into a place with lots of products, you will likely find it at Italian. read more

Just got home from the Christmas Sale and gotta say, ISG is hands down the best shop in town! Their selection is absolutely HUGE! Anything from a $99 plinker to a $29,000 double rifle and between. The brothers are great, busy but always make time for a quick chat and super knowledgeable. Custom orders are fast and easy, prices are better even than Wholesale Sports! And if you do find a cheaper price, just let them know and they'll do something great to get your business. I don't know about the guy below who expected them to give him full trade in value on a one year old shotgun, bit of a nutter I think. Having traded in multiple guns I know it's based solely on Blue Book Value, just like a car, and that way it's equal for everyone. read more

I have purchased 3 guns from Jake at Italian Sporting Goods. All 3 transactions have been more than awesome. All 3 were also really really good deals. The first 1911 was $500ish less than any other store in Vancouver. I just bought an XCR from here in the last few weeks and I couldn't be any happier. It was a custom order for them as I wanted a specific color, and still the gun was $250 less than other stores with the black color only. They were able to get it in within two weeks, and didn't charge me any shipping. I really can't recommend these guys enough. Also, their sales are always amazing so watch out for them. read more

This place has the worse customer service ever. There is always more staff in the store than customers, yet no one to help you. I got my PAL and was eager to buy some toys. I am new to guns, I purchased a couple rifles and they sold me the wrong ammo for one. I specified NON_CORROSIVE AMMO. Went out shooting to later find (when cleaning since it really makes it difficult) that in fact they sold me a crate of corrosive 7.62 ammo when I specifically asked if it was. Went back expecting an exchange and they wouldn't, said they couldn't do anything about it.... I was pissed. Basically told them to stick it and the staff literally laughed at me!!! The service at Italian sporting goods is terrible. You cannot get anything done there in less than an hour. And god help you if you try and return something. They sold me the wrong ammo to go with the rifle I had just bought there and then wouldn't take it back or give me a credit. read more

I walked in today wanting to buy a Tikka in .270 Win. My sales guy was Colin. After checking the computer I was told they DIDN'T have any Tikka rifles in .270. Then after 15 mins he dumped me onto another sales guy named Oli while he dealt with another customer who walked in 15 mins after me. Oli was able to find a Tikka in .270 for me but I felt the service was short and cold. I felt like my business wasn't appreciated and they just wanted me out the door. I got the rifle I wanted and so I'm giving two stars rather than one. This is the second rifle I have bought from Italian Sporting Goods. Had I gone to Cabelas I would have saved $20 on the same rifle AND the sales person would have gone over all parts of the rifle with me to ensure there were not defects. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM ITALIAN SPORTING GOOD AGAIN. If you are looking for quality service go to Cabelas, Reliable, or Wanstalls. You will leave with a smile on your face rather than a frown as what I did today. read more

It is unfortunate, but Italian Sporting Goods could be so much better. I really only ever go there if no other stores have what I'm looking for. The staff is alright, but some are a little bit prickly and not the most patient. Their prices are about 10-15% inflated over other stores. If they had a more welcoming attitudes towards customers and lower ammo prices it would go a long way. - Edit - I have increased my rating, because their hours are the best in town. read more

Terrible service, when I purchased a restricted firearm on a Tuesday asked the sales assoiciate what I would need to have it approved and bring it home he filed for my att as he was doing that I told him I was part of silvercore gun club , and he told me that didn't matter. Well Friday comes along I still haven't received my att for the firearm, I call the store to see if there's any issues with it he says everything seems fine just waiting for approval should be in Monday were open Tuesday should be on the desk first thing, a lot of approvals are done on Monday. Well Tuesday goes by no phone call, I get a piece of mail the following Wednesday stating I need to send in a copy of my gun club membership which I asked the sales associate when I bought the firearm if I had to provide that. Well to make a long story short I just talked to the rcmp and looks like I'll be waiting another week for approval. Maybe it's because I was only buying my first inexpensive handgun that I got this treatment and I didn't matter but I'm not very happy and will never buy a firearm here again. 2 and a half weeks to get my firearm when they get payment right away isn't fair read more
